One bedroom cottage - Family owned/operated since 1923

Our cottages are clean and well kept. Situated on 3 acres, surrounded by forever wild state land. We offer free wi-fi, cable, fire pits, and grills. Conveniently located between Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. Come see why our guests return year after year ! Open May - October. Sorry, no pets.

The space:
Cottage #7 has 2 twin beds. It has a kitchenette with coffeemaker, microwave, and small refrigerator. Please note there is no stove.

We are a family business that takes pride in our property. We keep our cabins CLEAN and well maintained. We live on the property and will be here to answer any questions you may have. We are only 5 minutes in either direction from Lake Placid and Saranac lake. We are right off highway 86 but our property is quiet and peaceful.

Guest access:
We have free Wifi spread throughout the property. Our guests say the speed and signal strength are very good no matter where you stay. There are communal gas grills , Adirondack chairs, picnic tables, fire pits , and horseshoes all free for our guests to use. We sell firewood on the property as well.
Parking is plentiful and free. There is a gas station within walking distance that carries groceries, sandwiches, beer, ice , etc.

We are always on the property to answer any questions you may have

Other things to note:
Moreno's cottages was founded by Tessie and Tony Moreno, my Aunt and Uncle 1923. Uncle Tony built this property by hand over the years and Aunt Tessie ran the business with discipline and hard work. David and Joyce Anteau, and David Anteau Jr take great pride in our family legacy here. We are constantly updating and remodeling to make our guests' stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible.

We thought the cabin was quaint & charming and in a good location. Was really disappointed it didn’t have a decent coffee maker- couldn’t brew my own because the one in the cabin only used premade pouches. There were also quite a few insects including spiders which i’m terrified of!

Hi Renee, thank you for staying with us. Honestly, we are dismayed that the 4/5 rating hinged on the style of coffee maker, which we do state in our Guest information package. During your stay, it is always assistance for a different coffee maker (you did not mention any specific need in advance of your arrival), which we would have been happy to locate. We very much like to please our Guests while they are here, rather than hear of complaints after they leave! For readers, please note, we are in the woods in the Adirondack mountains. There are all manner of insects here. If you open the door, some may fly in! :)

What You'd Picture an ADK Stay Without Camping

Moreno's Cottages are a pleasant series of little cabins between Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. My brother and I stayed in #7. There were two twin beds, a nook and a small, separate kitchen area. It was rustic, but modern enough to feel like you had a place to relax after a hike. We did have some problems getting in, but Todd was super accommodating and had backup codes for us to use. There are picnic benches and grills behind the house in the open area. The property is easily accessible off the main road, Route 86. If you need anything last minute, there's a Sunoco market behind a tall fence 150 feet from the property. It definitely does the job if you want something simple and comfortable that gives you the feeling you're in the Adirondacks.

Lovely, rustic cabin at the foot of Scarface mountain. You can walk to the trailhead which cuts across the rail trail too. Near Lake Placid, lots of hiking and swimming. Very nice, quiet spot. Owners very nice.

The best cottages I have stayed in.

The place his a hidden jewel. The place is well maintained, and up to day. The owners are nice, and helpful with finding places to hike or eat. I can’t say enough how nice it is. I will stay again, when we are in the area. And you can’t beat the price. I highly recommend staying here.

Fantastic place to stay!

So glad we came across this gem! Tucked in a quiet off shoot of 86, but within walking distance of a gas/convenience store. The cabin we had was a one bedroom, and super clean, and contained everything we needed (and more!). We met the owners, who were lovely, and very knowledgeable of the area and helped suggest some things to spend time on when in the area. Because of the central location, to Lake Placid and others, it's a great hub for travelers. We will be staying here again!
