OCEANFRONT Waves - Mac-Oca Ct. - One of the best kept secrets on Hatteras Island. This home sits right on the oceanfront so access to these pristine beaches is right out your back door. Catch some rays on the sundeck, take a soak in the hot tub or simply enjoy a little rest and relaxation while listening to the sound of the ocean. The comfortable great room opens to a large oceanfront sundeck complete with 6-person hot tub, solid Polywood® furnishings. A well-designed kitchen with center island and nearby dining area makes mealtime a breeze. Four bedrooms (1 master suite), two full baths and hallway laundry area round out the accommodations. If you and your family are looking for a great getaway with all the bells and whistles, then look no further. Come and be one of the first to stay in this amazing beach house this year.

Vacation Rental Protection Plan: This required non-refundable $95 plan covers accidental damage within the home. It does not cover theft or willful misconduct. You must notify Surf or Sound Realty of any damage that occurs during your occupancy, or this coverage will be void. Coverage is effective at time of check-in and ends at time of check-out.

Loved the house and the location

Our first time staying in this area and it did. It disappoint. The house was very clean and well stocked. Only suggestion would be to put ceiling fans in the bedrooms… they got a little hot. Would definitely stay there again!

Great place to stay

Overall the stay was great!!! The house is clean and just as described. The bathrooms aren’t pictured but they are clean and nice. The master bathroom is a shower only no bathtub. The dog run needs some help as it was not dog friendly at all!! It could be if it were weeded of all the prickly plants!!! The beach access is quite easy and beside the house but it is a public beach access. They neighborhood is quite. FYI The KOA is in eyesight of the master bedroom. The beach views from the front porch are wonderful and a great place to hang out!! The front deck also has a gate so any young children or pets can’t get out!! I would definitely stay at Captains Quarters again.

clean but shabby

This is an ideal Rodanthe location, was clean and comfortable. It is badly in need of indoor painting. The woodwork and walls had many marks and worn places. It has evidently had hard use. The hot tub was great and we had a quick response time when we had a question.

Good Location. Cozy. Nice. Not for more than 5.

We liked this place, but it wasn't great and we don't expect much. Ten dollars would make a a huge difference to get a family put into place after a long day of traveling. Some garbage bags and hand soap in each bathroom would go a long ways. We also understood that there wouldn't be linens our time of year, so we brought our own. However, we were told that we had blankets. They were stained and gross. The grill situation leaves you with a Weber charcoal grill which is great. We use one at home also. However, the gas grill provided is a traveling grill, not meant to cook a decent meal on. Speaking of cooking the dishes and silverware were nice, but the pots and pans were very sub par at best and not user friendly. It wouldn't hurt the owner to upgrade pots and pans especially when family's come here with the intentions of cooking their meals during the week. The outdoor shower lacked in water pressure even high enough to rinse the sand off of your feet. The listing calls it "Captains Quarters" and it is just that. You don't want to stay here with more than 4-5 ppl. We had three kids and two adults and it was tight. It did have nice views, the hot tub was nice. It's situated in a good location with easy access to things to the north and the south. The beach is nice, we could watch the dolphins every morning and we had great fishing within a short walk up or down the beach. It did have a nice table to have a meal on and the kitchen island was nice to have. At the end of the day, we did expect a little more. We enjoyed our time at this rental, but will probably opt for a different place the next time we are back.

Great beachfront location!

Great beach location - we enjoyed having a beautiful view of the sea from our deck! The home was very clean, but we did have to take the bedspreads off of beds due to other pet hair from previous vacationers. Other than this, we loved the home and location!

Perfect quiet Thanksgiving

Great property- everything was just as advertised. Clearly been updated recently as all the appliances were very new. Only hiccup we had was with getting the hot tub to heat up, but honestly that might have been user error more than anything- instructions for how to adjust the temperature would be the only thing it was lacking. Especially loved the dog run for the family dog!

Perfect Honeymoon House

This home was beautiful! Nice views of the ocean, the hot tub was awesome and it was secluded/private even with neighbors next door. There are small shops close by for essentials and bigger stores are 20-30 minutes out. My only complaint was the sand spurs getting into our dogs paws. Would definitely stay here again though!

Captain's Quarters stay

The property looked exactly how it did in the pictures online. The views were amazing from the back deck. Some cons: older appliances that didn't work well (toaster and coffee pot), the vacuum cleaner ball (Dyson ball vacuum) was slightly broken it seemed which made vacuuming sand everyday a chore, the outdoor hose nozzle was broken which made hosting off after the beach interesting, and it advertised Netflix but getting Netflix to work was a janky process my techy husband spent an hour figuring out since the remote didn't really work well. The house took hours to cool down even a degree which made for some very warm days. Overall the stay was pleasant. Check in was easy, check out was easy. The rooms were well suited to my family. The water pressure in the showers was amazing. The overall feel of the house was cozy.

Captains Quarters

This place is the ideal location. It is peaceful right on the beach and is driving distance to more commercialized points of interest. The interior is beautifully decorated. Would love to go back again.
