This unique hexagon home has a picture perfect setting over looking a large pond with windows that allow the outside to come in. Bring your family and friends, spend a weekend on the property relaxing, fishing, barbequing and playing horse shoes. In between Angels Camp & Murphy's, its the perfect vacation home to enjoy the country experience and still be able to wine taste or enjoy the day on Lake Melones. Big Trees State park is only 40 minutes away.
Sleeps 8. Prices are set for 6 guests, more then 6 guests will have an additional nightly guest fee. We also allow private parties & weddings but the pricing varies and is not included in this VRBO the nightly stay pricing. ** PLEASE NOTE prices listed above ARE NOT set for private parties or weddings** We do have a fulltime tenant away from the house in guest apartment on property. No children under the age of 12 years old due to the pond. Dirt road driving into the ranch.

Kim is an amazing host. The property is absolutely beautiful. We stayed for a work trip and had the best time while staying at the VRBO. It is close to everything. We will always recommend this VRBO to others. We can't wait for our next stay

Amazing property!

Great experience at this beautiful property!! The owner was the most accommodating and helpful. The home and surrounding area feels like your own little piece of the country but still close to many things. Will definitely be back!!!

Week end get away

This is a great property if you need to get away from it all, remote and peaceful. Not far from downtown Angel Camp and Murphy. Overall we were able to relax and enjoy the country.

Wonderful Ranch Property

We had a great weekend stay at this property. The ranch property is great with many oak trees, rolling hills, and a very nice landscaped area for events near the pond. The house is great and has nice amenities, including a wood fire BBQ and propane/charcoal grill. The owners were friendly and extremely welcoming. We would definitely stay here again!

Spanish R Casual Ranch Serenity

We will definitely return! We wanted to be in Gold Country, Day Trip and have a private retreat in the evenings. This location fulfilled all of our wishes and more. Our hosts were extraordinary! This is a wonderful venue for weddings, retirement parties or a family gathering too.

Girls weekend

Adorable octagonal 1970s home located on a little lake amongst oak trees and wildlife. Comfortable inside and out! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I will miss sipping coffee outside while watching the birds on the water and chirping in the trees.

Great family getaway

From the moment we came in the front gate we had a smile on our face. I loved having my morning coffee watching deer, wild turkeys and squirrels going past the living room window. I love to fish and was able to catch a couple of bass from the pond. My family and I will definitely plan to return soon.

Peaceful Tranquility

I never write reviews but I had to let everyone know how special this place is to stay. The house is welcoming and clean with all the amenities included but what made our vacation so special was Kimberly, the owner. She was so warm, helpful, accessible, and accommodating with all of our needs and questions. This place is a gem and we can't wait to come back and make new memories.

Great property and secluded get away, just minutes from town.

Location is perfect, close to downtown Angels Camp & Murphy’s but you feel miles away from anything. Kim and her husband were excellent hosts, very accommodating and responsive. 20 minutes to the New Melonies marina. Coming back after a day on the lake bbqing on the patio and chilling by the dock with family made for a great holiday weekend!

Summer getaway

We should have stayed longer! This was a great base for visiting favorite spots along Highway 4, like Calaveras Big Trees SP and Lake Alpine. We enjoyed grilling dinner and relaxing on the patio, listening to (and watching) frogs by the pond, and just taking time away from our normal schedules. Kimberly was super helpful through the whole process!

Serene, Peaceful, Beautiful !!!

Just like the photos! Such a beautiful place. Movie nite outside, under the stars, was so special that we did it twice! Kimberly was the best hostess! She made sure everything was perfect for our stay and responded immediately to answer any questions. Such a peaceful and relaxing stay. We didn't want to leave. Thank you Kimberly and Micah for making our little anniversary holiday so special!

A Great Stay at the Spanish R

What a great place to get away, relax, and hang out. A very comfortable and open home, with every amenity inside, and plenty of room to roam just outside the french doors and big picture windows. You feel like you are a million miles away, yet everywhere you want to go is just short drive down hwy 4. And Kim could not have been more friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay, and the kids are asking how soon we can return. Highly recommended.

Would stay forever if I could

Had the best experience staying, hosting an event, and getting ready for my wedding at this gorgeous place. Kim was absolutely amazing—so sweet and helpful. She went above and beyond, taking the time to meet with us, show us the property, and arrange a contract for us to hold our wedding welcome party there, even recommending vendors and putting signs out by the road. The description and map views did not prepare me for the stunning beauty of driving into this property—the hills, windy road, and feeling of remoteness made me giddy! Then arriving at the perfectly manicured lawn & pond and super cool house truly felt like a private oasis. So glad we found this incredible place and this gracious host— it made our wedding weekend all the more magical!

Wedding and Mother's Day weekend

My daughter selected this property as our home base for her wedding weekend, which was also Mother's Day weekend. The house and grounds were all perfect for fulfilling her vision of time with friends and family (we enjoyed the horseshoe pit and brought a big outdoor Jenga), the wedding party, her bridesmaids (for girl time and as well as their 'getting ready' pictures), her 'first look' with her fiancee at the pond, pre-wedding family pictures and more. For the duration of the weekend, we spent a lot of time under the gazebo for meals and conversation and on the deck at the pond for some quiet reflection and respite. Our Mother's Day gathering was a drop in day and the flow of the house and outdoors lent itself beautifully for the occasion. Kimberly went above and beyond to make our weekend a success by making sure we had platters and champagne glasses available. She had a beautiful and thoughtful presentation of flowers and special wedding themed items set up for us upon arrival. It was an action packed, whirlwind weekend and the property hosted us beautifully. Our family has a small property in Dorrington, which is nearby, but will look to rent this property again for any larger gathering. We loved it! Thank you Kimberly and Mike.

New Family Tradition

My family was looking for a weekend getaway that was close to home and what a blessing it was to find the Spanish R. Kim is amazing and truly wants her guests to enjoy their stay at her property. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The Home itself is quite unique, very spacious and comfy. Everything was clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable and the linens were high quality. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need, next time I know not to pack so much! We loved watching the turkeys, and the cows with their calf’s roam early in the mornings while enjoying our coffee outside. We shared carrots with the horse who would come when we called by the end of our trip. Mornings were so peaceful. We enjoyed family time playing horseshoes in the two pits, what an added bonus! Down by the pond there was plenty of room to play games like bocci ball on the beautiful lawn areas. Movie night at the pond was incredible. The screen is easy to access and the projector was so simple to use. There was lots of outdoor blankets and bean bags available to make us all comfortable while we watched the big screen, enjoyed popcorn, and made s’mores over the fire pit! Grocery stores were close and New Lake Melones was only about 15 minutes away which was so convenient. I can say that our Labor Day weekend spent at the Spanish R was one for the books! My family all agreed that we want to make it a yearly tradition and we look forward to visiting again! Thank you again Kim for being the best!

AMAZING Property and Owner - Highly Recommended

This is the second time we have stayed at this property and the experience was even better this time around (which is hard to believe given we loved our last visit here). The home is best in class, with everything you would ever need to enjoy your stay already included. The highlight of our vacation was a movie night on the pond which was unforgettable. The home itself is very well kept, comfortable and the whole family had the time of their life. Kim was very welcoming, constantly made sure we had everything we needed and really made the experience special for us. Thanks again for everything. We will be back again for sure :)

New Years Eve getaway

A gorgeous property perfect for a getaway. We always try to go to a more remote place for New Years to turn off some noise of the city, and this property was great! Kimberly made everything so easy with her suggestions of the small town nearby and being very accommodating. Excited to visit again in the near future!

Beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of life.

The owners were super accommodating and an absolute joy to work with. Kimberly is the best!! The land is quite unique and waking up to the “moos” is the best. Much better than a Rooster. Loved the peace and solitude.
