Orchard Hill Farm in Saugatuck Near Beaches

This charming 4 bedroom, 2 bath farmhouse backs up to picturous farmland and was renovated in 2017. This 100 year old beauty has been featured in Cottages & Bungalows, Houzz and Country Living. We are close to Saugatuck (12 mins), S. Haven (12 mins), Holland (20 mins) and Fennville (12 mins). The farmhouse is conveniently located near 3 Lake MI beaches (under 1 mile), cider mills, breweries, wineries, farm stands, antiques, shopping & restaurants.
Cottage Rules:
* Keep the cottage locked when you are not there and when you check-out
* Please do not move furniture into other locations and return any items used into the location you found them
* Please do not cut anything directly on the counters, use a cutting board
* Please do not open the windows in the screened porch, they are delicate and can break easily
* Please do not flush anything items besides TP down the toilet (we have a septic system)
* Please do not smoke or invite any furry friends in the cottage
* Please don’t let kids sleep on the loft or play on the ladder
* Please don’t go into the basement or barn
* Please be respectful of our neighbors, quiet time is from 10pm to 7am in our neighborhood

Before Check-out:
* Strip beds and place linens on the bedroom floor in each room
* Leave used bath towels in a pile on the bathroom floor
* Please clean out fridge/freezer and dispose of your items
* Please take the trash out into the bins and keep them near the road (pick-up day is Monday)
* Please clean all dishes/ kitchen items and place them back where you found them

Beautiful home!

Decorated beautifully! Owners were great at communicating. It’s about a 15 min drive to saugatuk. So nice to be able to see the stars at night by the fire.

Stunning Home and Property

This place is magical! A restored 100 year old farm house with breathtaking views. Plenty of space, comfortable sleeping, tasteful decor. We will back next year for sure!

Nice farmhouse, great location!

This is our second stay at this house. We love the location and the setting. Our only complaint is the house is not cleaned well between guests.

perfectly executed home

every part of the home has been thought through and was very comfortable for a group of 5 to stay in. we all loved the home so much and wish we had more time to enjoy it !

The house is beautifully designed and decorated, and the outdoor entertaining area is very nice. But there were a few disappointments in our stay. The A/C did not work very well upstairs, which made the small bedrooms pretty stuffy at night. The bathroom upstairs only had a tub. The rain shower has been removed and the handheld shower head was not working at all. This meant we had one shower (with quite low water pressure) to share amongst 9 people. Not ideal. The host was very responsive to questions and checkin was easy. But given the price, we expected a better overall quality of stay.

Family fun

I was looking for a house big enough for our family and this was it. The screened in porch was our second favorite room, besides the kitchen. There was plenty of room for 10 humans to not feel on top of each other. Great place for family or friend getaway.

Great house for a family

Stay was great and everything was as listed. Just need a a better cleaning on floors and bathrooms but wasn’t horrible. Wifi is really bad and is how the TV works so if you have expectations of anyone watching (streaming) or doing and significant work yu ou will be disappointed.

Thank you for the review! We are glad to hear you had a great stay. We have the best internet available in our rural area... I'm guessing it was a bit slower during your stay due to some many people working remote during the pandemic. We hired a new cleaning service as well to make sure everything is perfect.

Long Weekend with Friends

We had a wonderful time with our family and friends for 4 nights over the 4th of July weekend. Our family of four along with our close friends' family of four fit comfortable in this beautiful farm house. The four kids ranged in ages 3 to 6. They loved the bunk beds and yard to run around in. Close drives to Saugatuck and Holland where we spent most of our time. The owner was incredible quick and helpful in her responses to our inquiries. Would absolutely visit again!

Girls Getaway

It was amazing. Decorated absolutely beautiful and comfortable. It was such a nice place to stay for our girls weekend away. Almost everything we needed was provided. The coffee machines were not working well, but we made do. It would be nice to have had a microwave though. But overall, we loved every little bit of it. We sat and took in the scenery at the orchard next door. Everything was breathtaking and refreshing. Just what we needed. Thank you for opening in your beautiful home.

Beautiful, relaxing, countryside home!

This country home is as beautiful as pictures show...and the property is even better! The porch swing, patio, backyard, firepit and views of the orchard are very likely what we'll long remember from our stay. You won't believe how brightly the stars shine at night! Large dining tables (indoors and out) and several seating areas allowed our group of 9 to comfortably spread out. The couches were cozy, the kitchen was well-equipped and the high-end finishes throughout the house were a bonus. The home's location was nice in that we had the peace and quiet of the country, but yet a 15 minute drive to Saugatuck, South Haven and Holland provided options for shopping, restaurants, activities, etc. The only downfall (and the primary reason and why we didn't give a 5 star review), was that the Fennville beaches were closed due to high water levels, and had been all summer. We chose this location based on the fact we'd have nearby beach options and that simply wasn't the case. Again, the drive the Saugatuck (Oval beach is lovely) was easy enough, but we would have liked to have local access to the lake. Also, the rainfall shower head in the upstairs bathroom wasn't working and the internet was weak enough that the Apple TV / Netflix wasn't much of an option. Christine was an extremely responsive host and her recommendations (other than the beaches) all panned out for us. Thank you for a relaxing week in this beautiful home!

Beautiful Farmhouse

We spent a couple nights here and would definitely return. Great spot from which to explore Saugatuck or just relax in a real cozy home. The place is every bit as nice as the pictures suggest. Sometimes even more so. You know how sometimes a VRBO matches the photos but everything is just a little less nice that you imagined? Well, that is definitely not the case here. For example, I liked one of the chairs innocuously placed in a corner of a bedroom. A quick google search established that I was right to like it and that it costs more than I can spend on a chair! Similarly, Pendleton blankets everywhere you turn is a treat. The place was immaculate when we arrived. Show up, unpack, and you'll feel at home pretty quick! The hosts were available by text anytime. As some reviews mention, internet could be an issue. We used an iPhone hotspot and a laptop when the kids wanted to watch a movie. Not a problem, but something you may want to know in advance. Be sure to get to Isabel's down the road. Load up on croissants in the mornings and don't miss the brown butter tomato gravy (so good it should probably be illegal). Wau-Ke-Na North Tract (a quarter mile up the road) is a perfect spot to catch sunset over the lake. If you like the pictures, you'll love the place. Highly recommended!

Great Home/safety concerns

The home was great for the 2 hours that we stayed. We arrived at the property late evening just long enough to drop our bags off and go to dinner, upon returning after 9pm at night we discovered one of the 2 front doors to be left unlocked along with most of the windows upstairs and downstairs along with a door leading from the outside into the sunroom also unlocked. Being that there was only 3 woman we were very uneasy, then we discovered that the sunroom was only screened in and there were no locks at all on the 2 doors leading into the home from the sunroom. Anyone at all had access to the interior of the home by cutting a screen and opening a door (again, no locks at all on a door coming into the kitchen from the sunroom and a door coming into the living room from the sunroom) anyone who had ever stayed here would have this knowledge, when we discovered all this, for our own safety, we decided to vacate the house and headed to a hotel for the night, we simply did not feel safe there for the night. We were assured by the host that it was a “safe area”. It may have very well been. A safe area, however, when you are not from around there and 3 Woman traveling alone, we did not feel that a house that had been left unsecured all day and no locks leading into the home from a screened in porch was a safe environment to stay for 2 night. We did however communicate all this to the host, no reply or explanation was given. Again, the house is beautiful and perfectly depicted in the photos, safety was our main concern and issue with the property.

Cherry, We were very disappointed to learn that you decided not to stay at our farmhouse after we worked with you to reschedule this trip 4 different times. As you knew I was out of the country and had my cleaner go to the house to unlock the front door for you since you were in town an 30 mins prior to your arrival. We have a 4-seasons room with exterior locks that lead into the main home through French doors. Apologies that a window may have been unlocked by a prior guest, I would have been happy to send out someone to lock it for you had I known before you decided to leave. The area is extremely safe and we've never had a single safety complaint.

Amazing stay!

Our family of 10 stayed at this adorable farm house for our daughters wedding weekend. It was so charming and comfortable. It has a lot of personality with natural light with cozy atmosphere. The house was well stocked with dishes and linens. We honestly had the best time! Great location! Christine was super responsive through the entire booking process. I would highly recommend staying here!

Great house in a great location

This house was perfect for our family of four. We really enjoyed all of the outdoor space and seclusion. Also, the house is centrally located near several great beaches. My only complaint is that the house wasn't that clean. However, I am admittedly very particular that. It seems to be a problem with all vacation rentals. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely consider staying here again.

Absolutely fabulous setting for the entire family (of all ages) to gather!

The home is beautiful and offers multiple different settings to gather for meals, conversation, games, etc. It is easy driving to Holland, Saugatuck, Douglas, Fennville, South Haven and St. Joseph! Great advice given for farm, brewery, antiquing, eating, music visits! We had plenty of room for 10 people to sleep comfortably. The kitchen and grill worked well (could use sharper knives - and that is seriously the only concern). Loved every little thing about this place.

A Magical Place!

We had THE most wonderful vacation at the Farmhouse. The place is so special. You really feel like you are away from it all - yet it’s so close to many amazing places! Everything about our stay was perfect. We stayed for two weeks with our grown children and had plenty of space for ten of us. We cooked fabulous meals on the top-notch grill and had so much fun playing card games and dancing till late at night. We had bonfires and made s’mores, too! The Farmhouse is a perfect setup for hosting large family meals. We utilized the outdoor space as well as all the wonderful indoor spaces. Beds are very comfy! I especially loved having coffee on the sun porch each morning. Christine is an amazing host. All of her recommendations we spectacular. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Christine, for creating such a magical place and for being a sincerely kind and caring host. We’re looking forward to staying at The Barn when it is finished. I’m sure it will be as fantastic as The Farmhouse!
