Flip Flop Cottage is a well-appointed 5 bedroom, 3.5 bath home within a short walk (less than 5 minutes) to Oak Street Beach and downtown South Haven. This house has over 3100 square feet of living space, in a quiet, low-traffic neighborhood.

No more than 2 dogs, under 90 pounds (medium dogs), older than 2 are welcomed!

The main floor features an open floor plan ideal for entertaining along with hardwood floors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a gas fireplace.

The second floor includes 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths, including a spacious master bedroom with a private bath. The three additional bedrooms are large with plenty of closet space and natural light.

The finished basement has a living area, bedroom, and full bath, perfect for those desiring a private space. The home features an attached two-car garage, a beautiful deck, and a new paver patio and fire pit. The home sits on a corner lot with lush landscaping, perfect for evening fires and S'mores.

All TVs are Roku SmartTV's and have the usual apps available for you to log in to your personal accounts. (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBOGo, Spotify, Pandora, etc...)

All TVs have available Xbox S and (2) controllers each with a controller recharge station. (No games provided, please bring your own)

Great getaway

Weā€™ve been making an annual trip to south west MI between Xmas and NY for a quick family getaway. This year we stayed at flip flop cottage for the first time and we loved it! Plenty of space with a great layout. Host was quick to respond when I had a question. We would definitely stay there again. The only thing missing was snow.

Wonderful vacation in South Haven

5 Star property! Beautiful home in quiet neighberhood, well stocked, really appreciated the beach toys in garage. Nice back yard for the kids to play and a fire pit area for adults to relax in the evening. The beach reached in 7 minutes is so small and surrounded by private beaches, but short drive to North/South beaches and marina. Fun time for all the family.

Nice family property

The property is well maintained and in a nice quiet neighborhood. It has a wooden deck that was a nice place for coffee in the morning. It also has a fire pit in back that was nice in the evening. The owner provided supplies for s'mores which was a hit. South Haven is a beach community and easy to get around. Parking could be tight at the larger beaches and in the downtown area at night.

Perfect place for us!

Our family of 4, plus our dog, stayed in this huge, beautiful home just a short walk to Lake Michigan. (12 or more could sleep comfortably here!) We arranged check-in time with our super-responsive host. There was every amenity you could possibly need here, plus a few special surprises! Close to everything, wonderful dog-walking neighborhood, great host, would love to stay here again, thank you, Rael!

It was perfect for our group of 10! Adults with the 3 grandkids together on the second level with 2 baths to share and the grandparents comfortable in the cozy basement area with their own huge living and tv area, king bed and own bathroom. With privacy and silence!The house itself was very clean, updated, and euipped with everything one would need, just like home. Plus so.many special touches like dog bowls and toys, blankets by the fireplace lots of beach toys, wagon and games, and a nice welcoming bottle of wine, and all the makings of smores for the firepit, all wonderful, special treats. And the location was walkable to a small beach, but very short drive into town withmany cute shops restaurants and especially yummy ice cream. I highly recommend the flip flop cottage the best place to park your flip flops. And the host is awesome with helpful, speedy replies.

Great family getaway

Nice, large ,clean place. I think we all enjoyed it. As others commented previously, it is not as close to the beach and town as listed. Oak beach was the closest and was quite tiny. It was next to private beaches that we were not to access. Previous tenants removed the body wash container from one bathroom so we had to root around for soap. Would have brought my own if we had known. Plenty of towel, kitchen ware, and games for the kids. Many many choices of what to take to the beach and a large wagon to help cart it there

Great family beach trip

3 families with kids (ages 7, 6, 5 and 3)stayed in this wonderful beach house. House was as described- short distance to the beach and a longer walk to downtown. Perfect for visits to the beach. We also did the Maritime Museum Pirate Ship cruise which the kids just loved. Make your reservations in advance though. Kalamazoo also has an Airzoo museum which is worth the trip. So many great things for the kids and adults. Highly recommended. We had a great week in South Haven and found this house to be above and beyond in accommodation and extras. We booked our 2023 trip before we left. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Excellent South Haven Vacation Home

My family had a wonderful stay in this home. The home and grounds were in perfect condition and clean. We really enjoyed eating meals on the outdoor dining table as well as roasting s'mores in the fire pit at night. The neighborhood is peaceful and it's an easy walk to beach access. This is an excellent home for families.

Wonderful Bachelorette Weekend in SoHa!

My bridal party hosted my bachelorette weekend at Flip Flop Cottage this past weekend, and the property was absolutely fantastic! There were 11 guests total including myself, and there was definitely enough space for everyone to spread out and not be on top of one another. There are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs (including the master bath), one powder room on the main level, and one bedroom with a full bathroom in the basement. The house was well-stocked with beach towels, kitchen appliances (blender, keurig, regular coffee maker), eating and cooking utensils, etc. We loved the firepit in the backyard and the close proximity to the beach (about an 8 minute walk). The house is immacuately kept and well-furnished/decorated. The host, Rael, was also very communicative both before and during our stay. Highly recommend this property to any large group looking for a place to stay in the area!

Relaxing Pet-friendly House close to the beach

We were so pleased with Flip Flop Cottage! It is perfect for a family getaway. We were looking for a house close to Lake Michigan, and in a quiet neighborhood. This house has a great outdoor space with a fire pit to gather around (s'more supplies included!), outdoor dining, propane grill included. The yard is beautifully landscaped, and felt private with the hibscus bushes and trees providing a nice green wall. With three full baths, (and a half bath on main floor) this house made it easy for extended families to gather and have their own space. Four bedrooms are upstairs including the master, and the fifth bedroom is in the basement. So for those that have issue with steps, keep this in mind. We enjoyed playing corn hole in the side yard, and used the kayaks (there are life preservers too which made this mom happy!) since the lake was pretty calm during our stay. The kitchen has all the essentials and we stayed in for most of our meals. South Haven is a beautiful town and very walkable. We enjoyed lots of long walks with our sheltie, even to the red light house on the pier! Dogs are not allowed at the Oak Street beach . For those that want to bring dogs you will have to drive to another beach. Our dog doesn't like the beach so that was okay with him since he needed time to rest after long walks! There was a bin that had some dogs toys and a dish and water bowl and even a canister of dog treats! There also is a cable to tether a dog so that we could dine outside and not worry that he would wonder off while we enjoyed our welcome bottle of wine provided by our host. We were happy to see that there was a second refrigerator in the garage, that was perfect to keep extra drinks. The keurig coffee machine was perfect and the hosts had all the supplies there for a selection of morning coffee (or hot chocolate!) Everyone in our party commented what a great find this house is, and one member in our party said this is the best rental he's been to so far! The host was very accessible and was prompt when we had questions. After being cooped up in our own houses for a year and half, this was a perfect place to get away, but stay in. Thanks Rael for a great getaway. We would definitely stay again!

Beautiful home, nice location

We enjoyed our visit to South Haven and staying in this beautiful home. It's extremely well-equipped, clean and comfortable. We loved relaxing on the back patio with picnic table, and using the back yard fire pit to make a bonfire and "s'mores" they provided. Their corn hole game was a hit for a friendly family competition. We rented golf carts to get to Oak Beach and North Beach which were close by. Overall, it was an excellent family getaway. Thank you!

Exactly as described. Great location - walking distance or short drive to everything we needed. Had a great time with our family. Will definitely stay again.

Great place to stay!

The owner, Rael, was very responsive both before and during our stay. The place was very clean and has everything you need for a vacation at the beach. We loved the location and how walkable it was to many great places around South Haven. Highly recommend and would love to stay again!

Beautiful home by Lake Michigan

The property was clean and beautiful and was indeed a short walk from the beach. Rael was a gracious and attentive host. I highly recommend the flip flop cottage.

My wife and our kids and friends have been coming to the South Haven (SoHa) area for over 10 years now and love it more each time. It's the perfect small town beach community. Very popular, but not overly commercialized.

We have been looking for our own vacation home for a few years now and knew we wanted it to be in South Haven, but were having a hard time finding the perfect one until we found 328 Oak Way. This home is well laid out, in a nice neighborhood and close to a quiet beach.

Quiet neighborhood short walks to the beach for swimming or sunrise/sunset views. Easy walk to Captain Lous and downtown for shopping and dining.
