Fortunate View Summer Home overlooking Bay Fortune Harbour and Fortune River

Our rental property offers a new 3 bedroom mini-home with 1.5 bathrooms providing comfortable accommodations for a group of six. The spacious master bedroom contains a queen bed with a double bed in the other two bedrooms. A beautifully decorated living room awaits you to sit and enjoy your surroundings with a picturesque view of the Fortune River which is home to a local oyster farm, and Bay Fortune’s culinary destination, The Inn at Bay Fortune, owned and operated by the popular Chef Michael Smith.

The fully equipped kitchen includes a refrigerator/freezer, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, double sink, dishwasher, cutlery, dishes, cookware, and other items that you might require during your stay with us. All bedding, bath towels, beach towels, and linen are provided. Fortunate View Summer Home also features:

Surrounded by red soil fields, a calm river, sandy beaches, and giant rocky cliffs, Fortunate View Summer Home is a destination that will not leave you disappointed. You will want to return year after year.

Beautiful location and Wonderful hosts!

We had an amazing stay at Fortunate View! The property was clean and spacious and a perfect set up for us! Marla was very responsive to our questions and ensured the house was spotless upon our arrival. The kitchen had everything we needed from utensils to cookware to a big lobster pot! There were even beach towels and beach chairs! Fantastic stay, we would love to come back!

Trip of a lifetime

The Townsend's cottage is beautifully located amidst all the attractions and tralls our family had wanted to see on the island. The beautiful beach two minutes down the road was the cherry on top of a great week. The cottage was immaculate and the kitchen had everything you could need as a home away from home. We will be recommending this location to all our family and friends hoping to see PEI.

PEI 2019

We had a great time and it was enhanced by our rental property. It was exactly as advertised. Close enough to Souris and local attractions to be accessible, but quiet enough to relax. We will look this property up on our next visit.

Bay of Fortune -August 2019

This was a lovely property. It was spacious, clean, organized and comfortable with a beautiful view of Fortune Bay and close to Front Beach. Marla was responsive to my emails and very pleasant. We really enjoyed our time at this property and loved PEI. We hope to return next year. Susan Shea

Wonderful week!

The only things that might help others staying at the property are having some personal comments or info about where to get groceries or gas or where are places to eat or close by things to do. Also having a bit of coffee for the first morning would have been much appreciated. Overall Fortunate Bay was very clean and suited us well for the week we were here to attend a wedding.

Amazing!!!

Arsene and Penny were our first guests of the 2018 summer season. They took excellent care of our property. We appreciate their respect, cleanliness, and the communication that they maintained with us regarding their arrival, departure and any questions/comments they had. They were ideal guests! We would absolutely love and feel privileged to host Arsene and Penny in the future during their PEI vacations.

Fortunate View Summer Home is proudly owned and operated by us...Adam and Marla Townshend.

Adam is a 4th generation potato farmer who shares in the operation of the family farm. He too is the sole proprietor of Eastern Crop Supplies and distributor of fertilizer products. Marla is a Registered Nurse who is currently in the midst of completing her Masters in Nursing to continue her career as a Nurse Practitioner. Together, we have a beautiful infant daughter.

Born and raised in Prince Edward Island, we are proud to call Bay Fortune our home. Located minutes from Fortunate View Summer Home, we are easily accessible to respond to your needs while you stay with us. We are invested in our community and thus, are eager to share our love and passion for eastern PEI and our local culture and attractions with you.
