Relax at the scenic New England coastline at Diamond Cove. Access 2 member beaches within walking distance. Experience the most breathtaking sunsets on the East Coast just 2 minutes away overlooking Ipswich Bay. This Victorian vacation home offers a comfortable open floor plan. The living/dining/kitchen has 2 separate seating areas, a large dining table for up to 10 and plenty of counter space - great for entertaining, cooking, or sprawling out to watch the 55" tv. The 1st floor bedroom and separate full bath offer peace & privacy. The 2nd floor guest bdrm w/ contrasting views of woods & glimpses of the bay defines serenity. The master bedroom features a beautiful 4 post queen bed and a private deck with seasonal ocean views (you can hear the bell buoy). 2nd floor marble bath has lg built in tub & separate stall shower. For your convenience the full laundry is on the 2nd floor. The wrap around farmer’s porch overlooks a lovely rock garden & has a gas grill w/ patio table & chairs.

Perfect rental for our Thanksgiving family reunion!

The house was perfect for me, my husband, three sons (18, 16, & 13) and my 80 year old mother. The house is very clean with an open living plan that accommodated our crew. The house is well stocked and Carol was available for any questions. Locale was terrific....walking distance to a number of beaches and a short drive into the quaint Annisquam village. I would highly recommend this rental!

Awesome vacation stay

This was a special vacation for our family. We were spending it with our 4 month old grandson from England. The house was comfortable and big enough for all of us to have separate space even when he was crying. We loved sitting out on the porch watching everyone walk or drive by. Neighbors were incredibly friendly and helpful. The area is spectacularly beautiful. Every time, you go for a walk you get another view of the ocean. The only thing that would have made the place more perfect would be rocking chairs on the porch:) especially with an infant. We will definitely return again. The owner was helpful, responsive and kind throughout the entire process of renting.

Thanks so much for your excellent review. More than anything I love when my guests are blown away by the natural beauty of our hidden gem, known as Diamond Cove. I will definitely look for a rocking chair for the porch.

fall weekend family stay!

I booked this rental for a fall family getaway/ wedding weekend we attended at the cruise port (about 10 minutes in town). House was even better then photos, we were pleasantly surprised upon arrival! Neighborhood was very friendly and the town is great. Private road with friendly neighbors, dogs, views and short walking opportunities to water. My adult family of 8 could of stayed here all week if we could of! I was also able to bring my family dog for the weekend trip which was amazing and very much appreciated. Great time! Great house!

Beautiful location

We were blown away on how beautiful this area is. The house was spacious and clean. The walk to the water was short and the views were amazing. The town has lots of cute stores and restaurants. Had the best time. Will definitely be back!

Comfortable House for a family in Gloucester

The house is spacious, pleasant, clean, with a well-equipped kitchen and nicely furnished. My husband and I, our son and wife, our daughter & husband with their 3 year old and 6 month old had an enjoyable week at this Annisquam house in the woods with walkable access to the beach. The bedrooms were very comfortable but could have used more window coverings to keep out the light for young children for naps and later sleeping in the morning. It was a very hot week when we were there and we wished that we would have discovered the air conditioner on the closet floor of the bedroom sooner.

Professional owner, lovely house, but not a beach house.

The house is listed as a "Pristine New England Beach House." If you read the entire listing, the owner states that "breathtaking sunsets" are "steps away on Ipswich Bay." This is not a beach house. The house is located in a forest. The nearby beaches and sunsets are not "steps away." When you spend more than six thousand dollars for 15 days at a "beach house," you notice these things. While the owner--who happens to live next door--is a competent, professional manager with excellent attention to detail, her description of the property and its proximity to Ipswich Bay and Diamond Cove is, at best, technically correct. The house itself is clean, pet-friendly, roomy, well-appointed, and practical for families with children. The granite steps leading up from the driveway to the front door would be difficult for older people, or for anyone with a disability or an injury. There are beach houses for rent in the area. If you want to see the water, this may not be the best place for you. If waterfront views are not important, this house is a good choice.

Relaxing Home

The layout of this home is perfect for a small family. There were six of us plus our grand daughter. The porch is a great spot and the neighborhood is quiet and friendly. The nearest beach is rocky and the further beach gets smaller with the tide-not much sand space left- still a beautiful spot. The owner was very responsive when the TV went on us. We had a new one the same day.

Spacious and clean house in a quiet and friendly neighborhood

We stayed at Carol's beach house over Memorial Day weekend, and would absolutely stay there again. The house is new, spacious, clean, and easy to live in. We were only four adults and a baby, but there was plenty of additional room. The house is arranged perfectly for a large or extended family, with a bathroom on both the main and second floor, and plenty of beds and privacy. The kitchen was well equipped and stocked with some staples - spices, condiments, etc.. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood, and while there isn't immediate beach access, it's within walking distance. It is a lovely area to walk in, the neighbors are friendly, and it's close to everything without being in the thick of it.

Beautiful, comfortable home lacking nothing!

We spent a family vacation the week of July 18th in this beautiful home, fully equipped with every amenity. The kitchen lacked nothing and there were plenty of toys and games for our grandchildren. We were four adults and four year old twins. There was ample room for all of us to spread out and we all enjoyed the space provided by the wrap around porch. We were in walking distance to the beach and found wonderful restaurants in the area. The home was very close to Rockport and we spent a full day exploring and shopping there. The property owner Carol was always available and truly invested in making certain our stay was special. It was! Thank you Carol!

Relaxing Retreat

We spent a magical family getaway week at this home. It could not have been better. The house was inviting and comfortable, and the owners were friendly and helpful. The large living room area was perfect for our family, giving everyone space to do what they wanted to do - play board games, play with the kids, watch a movie, or have a conversation. Of course one of the best things about this house is its location. We walked to the beaches multiple times every day. The Squam Rock beach is just spectacular with its great low tide sandy beach and the fantastic high tide rocks. We cooked most of our meals at home and enjoyed the large dining table, the grill, and the porch. We did, of course, go out for some yummy lobster rolls, crab cakes, fried clams, and other delicious seafood during the week. We plan to return soon!

Warm and inviting...couldn't wait to go inside!

We were in love the moment we approached the beautiful wrap around porch...and then we went inside and it only got better. We wondered around with excitement at each room we encountered. Everything was immaculate and nicely decorated as in the photos provided. It felt immediately like home and we settled right in. The well equipped large kitchen was amazing as we cooked most every meal there during our week. After unpacking cars and choosing bedrooms we ascended to the nearest beach a few minute walk down the pretty street. It was low tide so we were able to walk down the rocks and wade in the water. There we ran into the property owner and other family members who were all so friendly and fun. We went to lighthouse beach for most of the week because it was easier to navigate than the rockier beach nearer the house but still it was just a little longer walk that was quite lovely and manageable even with a one year old in tow. The neighbors were friendly and the street was quiet except for us in the evenings as we used the porch for dinners, cocktails and games. Can't say enough about the house...it fit us perfectly! We were able to pretend we owned it while we were there and it was a real treat to be surrounded by its comfortable luxury. We spent most of the week using the house and all it's offerings for our entertainment however there is so much to do in the area around Annisquam/Rockport/Glouscester to choose from should you want to do more. Halibut Point is close by and a must see...we had a lobster dinner at an comfortable family restaurant with outdoor seating one night just down the road. There is a great coffee shop that features homemade baked goods and sandwiches around the corner in Lanesville that we loved! Cool shops in Rockport and Glouscester if you need a diversion from the beach. Back at the house the outdoor space is perfect for playing lawn games like Bocce or washer toss or whatever. There is everything you need to take to the beach for use at the house which is a bonus. An amazing week was had by each of us...a great space to relax and enjoy time with family and friends. We will definitely remember our week here and highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to enjoy a wonderful week in the Glouscester area.

Really Nice

We stayed here for a month. This is the longest vacation I have ever taken and the only one that was truly relaxing. Our children came and went throughout our stay. Everyone was relaxed and enjoyed themselves. The house is was less than 10 years old with modern conveniences and lots of room. I would definitely do this again. I highly recommend this house and the Cape Ann area.

great vacation

Vacation 17th July for a week. The house was perfect with all the amenities you could think of. A lovely quiet neighborhood with easy access to beaches. Also very easy to drive to all interesting places and a train to Boston. The weather was very good with the ocean not being rough thus allowing for fishing and sailing. We had a perfect week and thanks to Carol for her kindness and the use of her house

Utter bliss in a haven of peace and quiet!

The home itself is way prettier than it appears on the web and well-maintained, well-equipped and comfortable - a true home-from-home. Actually almost too pleasant, we didn´t really want to leave at all. The owner and her family made every effort to help us find our feet quickly in our new environs and our 9 short nights left us so refreshed we felt we´d been away for months. Boston is easily reached by commuter train in around an hour from the small local station so there´s no need to drive in and fight to park and it´s an easy day out and a relief to return the the peace of the house and have a sundowner on the deck whilst enjoying watching the red and grey squirrels play in the trees. We enjoyed the local seafood and grilling perfect lobsters on the deck by the light of the fireflies....almost a shame to leave and go to restaurants, although plenty are available locally. We even picked fresh herbs form the rock garden to use in cooking and drinks! We have done nothing but talk about coming back since we got back home since the combination of comfortable house and quiet, shady surroundings (we get too much sun in Spain) proximity to the sea and pretty local area made for a perfect holiday. The locals are very welcoming and don´t appear to be suffering from tourist fatigue - or don´t show it - in stark contrast to many areas internationally. Our only regret is that we couldn´t manage to stay longer didn´t arrange to take our two miniature dachshunds with us. Travelling all the way from Spain with them is complicated. The owners have two delightful basset hounds who kept us company for part of the stay and even welcomed us home one evening! The downstairs bedroom and bath is handy for anyone who doesn´t want to tackle the wooden staircase every day. It´s worth remembering the washing machine and drier are upstairs as are the main bedroom and twin bedroom so you would have to go upstairs if you needed to wash clothes or use the other bedrooms. This was our first trip to this area of the US and we will return soon, not only to the Gloucester area, but to this very spot. Thanks again to the owner and all her family and friends for making our holiday the best in years.
