Host was very responsive to any need I had and responded quickly. The apartment is very clean, cozy and quiet. The host goes above and beyond. He even carried my luggage in for me upon arrival and to my car upon departure.

Thank you for letting us know we have a nice place. There’s not many places with private pool access, fast WiFi, and modern appliances. I’m sorry that your standard of cleanliness wasn’t met. We have an amazing cleaning staff that would’ve addressed any cleanliness issue and a professional property manager that handles any maintenance issues. There were no issues brought up during your stay and it saddens me that you didn’t bring any of this to our attention. We make sure our guests are safe, comfortable and get what they expect from our rentals. If there’s ever any issues we have a professional property manager that handles any issues brought up. Unfortunately, even with all we provide our guests we cannot make everyone happy. The previous guests that left a 5 star review appreciated the value and enjoyed their stay. We strive to make experiences like that for all families that stay with us.

Stunning views

The unit was absolutely perfect for our needs. Morgen was amazing. Contacted us to welcome us into town and to see if we needed anything. He was informative, friendly and extremely knowledgeable of the area. We needed an item we forgot and Morgen had it at our doorstep within minutes. By far our best experience with VRBO so far. We are looking forward to our next visit and stay at this location.

It was a bit frustrating as the reservation email did not include any address but property owner very responsive. Also was not aware that other people would be staying on the grounds or that it was a shared property.

THE PLACE WAS NOT CLEANED BEFORE I ARRIVEDVRBO allows only 1500 characters for this review and I can not list all the issues I had in so few characters. So, in summary, the place had not been cleaned before I got there. Dirty bathroom, unwashed sheets on the smaller bed, etc. Spiderwebs in the corners, uncleaned floors. I contacted the host about how dirty the place was, who sent her daughter. The daughter was the one who was supposed to have cleaned the place before I got there. She admitted to me that she hadn't. To be fair, she did offer to clean it then, but at that point, it was too little too late. It was in need of a deep cleaning, which should have been done before I ever got there. While I didn't expect this place to be fancy in any way, I did expect it to be cleaned. That's really the main thing. It was bad enough that I opted to leave and find a better place to stay. The host ignored my request for a refund, given the place had not been cleaned prior to my arrival.I wish I had read the reviews before I booked. Some people love this place and I guess if it was clean, it would have been fine. But you'll see other reviews like mine where the place just wasn't clean.In addition, quite a few pictures on this listing have nothing to do with this place. This is not an apartment at some nice resort with a gigantic pool and waterslides, gym, community room, etc. This is an apartment above someone's garage with an above ground pool in the backyard.

The bed was broken so badly we had to leave and find a hotel. The picture shown here is not what we had. The bed frame was broken and the owner shoved an old radiator under the bed to keep it up. I can barely walk after sleeping there. Thank goodness the Settler's Inn had a room.

Convenient location.

Need a place to stay while my daughter and I attended a camp nearby. the location was convenient to town and there were perks to the apartment including a pool, it was rather dirty. Lots of insects (not because it was in the mountains but because of caretaking). It was rather dirty, enough that my kids commented on that. It also had some rather easy repairs that were needed yet left undone. The apartment smelled of weed in certain areas which was a turnoff.

Property was eclectic physically and decor wise. I found it interesting and comfy.

We stayed over Labor Day weekend at Morgen Hatton’s place in Honesdale Pa. Not a major vacation just a relaxing getaway with our new lab puppy. The apartment )originally an in law suite) is self contained with private entrances, parking and was spacious enough with 2 bedroom, a kitchen and eating area, large comfy couch and huge tv. Access to a deck off of kitchen and stairs to pool were great too. It is a quirky place more like a multi level bunkhouse than a Home (which it is) but Morgen has all kinds of interesting furniture, decks, grills, fire pits, eclectic lawn ornaments, the pool and a large yard. I would say the best part of the stay was the hospitality of Morgan, his wife and son and of course their 3 dogs. They made sure wenwe comfy, had what we needed and made sure we knew how to get into town and to several parks, lakes and hiking areas. They were also great to just hang out with. This is no ski lodge (but he owns and A-frame a few miles away) but a mellow relaxing place to stay as an alternative to the more busy Pocono mts and lakes. Would definitely go back. Thanks Morgen!!!!

It was an ok trip. I guess

Not the best place I've stayed in by far. The entrance is full of bugs everywhere. The toilet didn't flush. The boards and nails throughout the whole deck were popping up so shoes must be worn at every moment. The weirdest part was having the property owner jump in the pool as we were in it.. I understand it's his property but people would like to vacation with their Friends and family not the owner of the house you're staying in. Also the owner put in a complaint about me not paying an extra charge for having extra people when I wasn't getting enough service for the payment to go thru and payment went thru once I got phone reception. Just a weird experience overall. I've stayed in many places and never had any issues like this.

1 Star Too Many

Cleanliness: It is an apartment over a garage attached to the main house. The place reeks of stale cigarette smoke. The furniture smelled rancid. Food stains on walls. Bedroom doors had holes in them covered by boards. After being there for 16hrs, our fresh clothes and hair smelled like smoke. We left and booked another property. Check In: Wasted 1hr trying to get wifi access because host displayed wrong information. Took 1hr to get back to us. Accuracy of Listing: Deck needs an overhaul, loose boards and exposed nails. Patio furniture had mildew on it. Pool area was nice but host sat outside and watched us in pool, very uncomfortable. Communication: Alerted host we were leaving, did not seem to care of the problems we listed. Messaged host numerous times through site never got back to us. Alerted host of male family member walking into the apartment, did not feel safe. Location: house in the middle of a neighborhood. Nothing noteworthy. Overall: Unfortunately, I had to give 1star. Owners male family member walked into our rented space. This made us extremely uncomfortable. Between that incident and the cleanliness/stench we left after 16hrs and rented elsewhere to finish out our vacation.

It was a quick stay

We arrived to the property about 5:30 pm and left at 9am the next day so it was a really quick stay. We did need to contact the host about the Wifi PW but we got a pretty quick response. It was super hot in the apartment when we arrived, it would have been nice if the AC was already on for us. We did not use anything outisde other thank the grill which worked fine. The sheets in the bed and other linens (hand towel in the bathroom) did not seem fresh though. There was black hairs all on the sheets and pillow cases. The 3 TVs was nice and we watched movies all night. The couch was also comfortable. We did have to wash out own dishes as well which in most places is covered under the cleaning fee. We also did not check anything out near by so cannot say much about that. We probably should have stayed in a hotel but I wanted to grill so that was the main reason we stayed. Overall 4 stars.

Heaven in Honesdale

My son and I stayed here all week and we miss it already. Morgen and his family were extremely hospitable and available when needed. We felt at home and enjoyed our stay immensely. The pool was our favorite part, my son loved the trampoline. We can’t wait to come back again.

Great Service Amazing Family

We booked our stay here we visited from Brooklyn, NY that was a 2 1/2 hour drive there, from the moment we got there we were welcomed by the property owner very kind and very informative. The place was very comfortable and well kept, we had everything we needed to spend a good stay. We met a few of the family very friendly and we also met the dogs soooo cute. I loved that they had a pool I loved everything about it. It was an amazing stay we will be coming back soon again thank you so much Morgen and Family much blessings .

Bad experience

My family’s wasn’t treated right. Made us feel very uncomfortable, we had to leave the 2nd day! right away One of my family’s members got emotional depressed. Reason for this was the shouting from the owners family’s that was there’s! We are devastated from this trip. We won’t be back a nightmare.

In 2017 my son graduated Bloomsburg University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. After graduating college, my son had the foresight to transition our full-time rentals into what is now considered Short Stay Rentals since May of 2017.
