Bogg's Mtn Lodge – A Treasure in the North Georgia Mountains

Outdoor spaces rule here! Relax sitting out on the deck just listening to the sounds of nature. Enjoy being nestled in the privacy of the woods as you sit in the hot tub. There's even a private balcony off the master bedroom!

Inside there is a wide open living area where friends and family can mingle for dining, recreation, and conversation. Gather round and cozy up on the large sectional sofa and recliners for movie night. Please note that the wood stove is only ornamental and not functional. There is WiFi at Bogg's Mountain Lodge. The television is streaming only, so bring your subscription information to log into your channels, just don't forget to log out when you leave! There is also a DVD player, so bring the movies you want to watch. There are a few on the shelf above the television, too. Find plenty of reading material on the bookshelf located in the hall.

The first bedroom on the left features a queen bed. Straight ahead is the shared bathroom with a walk-in shower. The second bedroom is on the right and also features a queen bed. Upstairs is the master king bed, large open space, a desk and even a futon for the guests who decided to join your group last minute! The master bath has a walk-in shower. There is also a private deck out the sliding glass doors. The perfect place to relax and unwind.

The kitchen is stocked for the chef of the group. All cookware, dinnerware, flatware and utensils are supplied. The coffee maker is a standard drip coffee maker, so bring the java and all the necessary items for the perfect morning cup of coffee! There is also a coffee grinder and toaster. The appliances are full size and there is a microwave for your convenience. The washer and dryer are located in the first guest bedroom.

• Minimum Age Requirement: Bogg's Mountain Lodge is available to families or to guests 21 years and older.
• Parking: Space is available for 3 vehicles.
• Access: The road is dirt and gravel and requires a 4WD to access the property.
• Pets: Bogg's Mountain Lodge is Not pet-friendly. No pets allowed.
• Location: 5 miles to Clayton, GA and 28 miles to downtown Helen.

Tucked away private and relaxing

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an excellent time at Bogg's Mountain lodge. Very isolated and private, down a dirt road, if quiet is what you seek, this is a great place to find it. AC works extremely well, great natural sunlight, and a generally wonderful place to relax. Make sure to bring your own kitchen basics like Salt, Pepper, foil, plastic wrap, and even Tupperware, as the kitchen is only very basically stocked. Also we had a problem with the washer/dryer, so if that's a non-negotiable for you, check in advance that they are working properly. Overall we had a good stay and would stay again.

Really great

This is a gorgeous cabin on a beautiful spot. Property managers are very helpful and attentive. The house exceeded expectations in size and comfort. There are 2 things that were not as smooth as they could have been. 1. The hot tub broke on day 1 of 5. This was a bummer because the hot tub was a big part of why we booked this one. 2. The drive up to the place is more challenging than we expected. Tricky even if you have a 4 wheel drive.

The beds are good for those who like firm mattresses. The dirt/rock private drive is tricky to navigate, but we made it!There was a little hiccup with the charges at the beginning of the process, but the management company made it right and honored the original price.

The cabin was beautiful with plenty of natural sunlight. The hot tub was big and close to the house. The location was a few minutes from Tallulah falls and grocery stores to stock up! The 1 minor concern, which some people have mentioned is the dirty road and driveway to get to the house. We drove 2 small hybrid hatchbacks and were able to make it just fine - but if there was any rain prior or during our stay, I think it might have been an issue.

Quite and still close to most things

The a/c works great and the hot tub was hot upon arrival. Did everything go perfect no but mostly everything was a 10! Please be careful as the neighbors dog is lonely and hangs out on the street eager for company. He will dart in front of car. He is friendly.

26th wedding anniversary trip

Very clean / just need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get there. No dishwasher but not a huge issue for us with only 2 people. Enjoyed the hot tub. Cabin very nice & open floor plan.

Fantastic cabin stay in the mountains

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay . The cabin has a great layout, all of the amenities you need and was very well kept and clean. We loved being able to enjoy the cool nights while lounging in the hot tub. The cabin is tucked away into the side of mountain so you get that secluded feeling but you're still able to see some neighbors so you're not completely alone. I do want to note that the road leading to the cabin is a bit rough and would be difficult to navigate if there was any ice or snow and you're vehicle doesn't have 4WD/AWD. My truck only had 2WD but since the weather was nice there were no issues. I highly recommend if you're looking for a nice mountain retreat but still want to be within minutes of trails and downtown Clayton which is where the stores and restaurants are located. Helen, GA is 45 min away and both Highlands, NC and Franklin, NC are about 35 minutes away. Again, we loved our stay and would love to visit again.

Great short stay

Only real complaint was that the grill did not work. Gas canister valve was rusted shut and couldn’t turn it. Other than that our stay was exactly what we were looking for.

Lots of space for 5 adults; loved the open floor plan, skylights and windows in the living area. The hot tub was great. We did miss having a dishwasher; the downstairs bedroom could use an overhead light; it was dark and hard to see, especially at night. Also the water pressure in the shower could be stronger. Apart from that we loved the place.

Very nice private cabin!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Spacious, nice finishes, with 3 bedroom/2 baths. Wifi is great but TV is dated and since no cable and only TV Stream, it does not work very well if at all. Also, they need an updated coffee maker that uses pods vs. the antiquated filter type they currently have in the cabin. Close to Clayton and easy travel to Highlands and other sites. We had a lot of rain and the gravel road to/from paved road is steep and had a washed out area we could maneuver around but it definitely needs work. Also, as leave the asphalt drive there is about a 6 inch drop off that has washed out as well. In summary, nice place it could use TLC on the roadway!!

Fantastic

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were a party of 5 adults and we stayed for 2 nights / 3 days. The place is great, the cabin is very private and well equipped. It has everything you would expect. The decor is very nice. We also got to meet the friendliest German Shepard that just wants to play fetch. The only issue at all is you will need an suv or truck to get here if it is wet outside. I drove a 2 wheel drive Yukon and had zero issues, but I do not believe a car would do so well. The hot tub is huge and very relaxing. We look forward to staying here again.

Girls weekend

Super cozy, fun place for our girls weekend. Close to activities and restaurants in Tiger and Clayton. It rained a few times so the gravel road was a little washed out, but the Subaru made it up and down without any issues.

Excellent mountain getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family had an excellent week long vacation at Bogg Mountain Lodge in Clayton, GA. Georgia Mountain Rentals made every step of our trip a seamless one and were available to answer every question we had. Our son spent the week at a nearby summer camp and the rest of pur family enjoyed the north Georgia mountains while he was there. We never ran out of things to do within an hour drive of the cabin. The cabin was beautiful, spacious, clean and well stocked when we arrived. A few comments on the cabin--it was beautiful and secluded, tucked away in the woods but without a view. The gravel road leading up to the driveway was very worn and eroded presumably from the rain. The driveway is steep and has a small ditch where the pavement and gravel road meet. A car would not easily make the drive and would bottom out in areas. An suv would be preferrable. The eroded areas of road were a foot or two deep in areas and could easily damage a wheel or axle if misjudged. We were thankful it didn't rain while there as we guessed it could have been worse. Lastly, we were surprised when our car was approached by a strange dog that followed us up the driveway. We arrived late at night and first thought it could have been a coyote. But then he greeted us at our car door with a stick wanting to play. The dog (a german shepherd x cattle dog cross) turned out to be one of the highlights of our stay. He greeted us every day with sticks demanding we play catch with him. He was very friendly and we quickly realized he belonged to the trailer two doors down. The rental agency and cleaning service knew about his visits although we weren't made aware of them ahead of time. We are a dog loving family so we were fine with this but I know not all families are. There were days he hung around on the porch all day staring at us through the windows. A second dog, an old white hound mix that ventured up twice but kept to himself. Overall I can't say enough great things about our st

Wonderful time

We had a wonderful time in GA. We love the area and it was close to many places we wanted to visit (Tallulah Gorge, Helen, Clayton to name a few). The cabin was very nice, enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit.

Great cabin

The cabin was clean and comfortable. My only concern was that even in a Subaru SUV, the driveway was a little hard to get up. The other issue is there is no trash bin or service or even a place to haul your trash. There is a note that says bears are prevalent, so keep trash inside. After three nights, that’s a lot of trash piling up inside the cabin. These things aside, a great experience.

Weekend Getaway

We really enjoyed our weekend stay at this property. The open concept and glass windows were perfect for a rainy weekend board games and just hanging out. Our only concern with the property was the water quality. Maybe consider installing a water filtration system to help with the taste and smell. Definitely a trip that we enjoyed and we appreciate you sharing your beautiful home with us.

Quiet and peaceful

This cabin had a panoramic view from den, kitchen and eating area. Nita and her team were more than attentive to make our stay as easy and stress free as it could possibly be. Check in and check out was the easiest of any properties we have stayed at in over 30 years.

Beautiful cabin and extremely clean.

I brought my mom to this property for an early Christmas present. We loved our stay and highly recommend this cabin. It’s beautiful!!! We also enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. Great place for kids too.
