Crystal clear waters, sandy beach for swimming, dock for fishing, and kayaking. (Kayaks not included) Adirondack chairs lakeside for enjoying the peace and quiet of the lake - so quiet you can often hear the loons. Take in the gorgeous sunsets and amazing stars at night by the fire pit just steps from your door. Cords of firewood stacked and ready for you. Perfect place for a weekend getaway! The sunsets were amazing and it was very peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed campfires right by the lake and there was plenty of firewood to burn. The cottage had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom is a bit on the small side; the shower is tiny but it met our needs. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to return!

This cottage was a peaceful retreat. Beautiful surroundings & so quiet! The host communicated all we needed to know, & was available to answer any questions. Thank you...we plan to return again!

My husband and I stayed at this rental for a long weekend and a wedding. The lake view is so peaceful and relaxing. We stayed in a different cabin on the same lake last fall and made it a point to return because we enjoyed it so much. The cabin had everything we needed for the weekend.

Small and perfect cottage for 2 people. Jill, the host, was quick to respond to inquiries and accommodated an early check in. The cottage was fully stocked. It was very quiet. The sunsets every night were stunning! A short drive to Charlevoix. Would highly recommend.

Excellent and very friendly communication! Our pastor and his wife stayed here while they were up officiating our daughter’s wedding at Castle Farms. The cottage is adorable and the outdoor surroundings and views are beautiful. They thoroughly enjoyed it! Said they were planning to go out for dinner their first night but after arriving decided to stay and make something while enjoying the view! They also said they heard the loon!

Stay in Charlevoix

Absolutely loved this property! It was quiet, clean, and perfect for a weekend getaway. Definitely recommend, it was right on a small lake with an easy drive to downtown Charlevoix. Would for sure stay here again.

Quiet area down 1 mile of unpaved road on a beautiful lake. We practically had the lake to ourselves. The cabin had everything we needed. Jill was responsive to any questions. A great place to stay for the two of us.

Quiet cabin

Very lovely site, perfectly sized cabin for my partner and I. Amazing view of the lake, spectacular sunsets and convenient to Charlevoix and places beyond.

Away from it all

Property was as advertised, very peacefully and was updated beautifully. We absolutely loved our 5 day stay and would recommend for anyone looking to get away and back to nature.

Nowland Lake Cottage highly recommended

We very much enjoyed our week at the cottage on Nowland Lake. The place was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The view of the lake made our stay especially pleasant. The environment was so peaceful. The only sounds we heard during our time there were the calls of the lake loons and mourning doves. We highly recommend vacationing at this cottage.

Decent place

Nice little cottage. Shared waterfront and dock. Really nice lake - very quiet and good size. Wifi didn't have internet connection. Overall, a fair value.

Kurt, I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. I’m sorry you had trouble with the wi-fi. Once we knew there was an issue we contacted the carrier and got the issue resolved.

Cozy Cottage on a Peaceful Lake near Charlevoix

My college aged daughter and myself stayed in this adorable little cottage. We wanted to be close to Charlevoix to explore the town, Petoskey, the beaches & nature. We enjoyed kayaking on Nowland Lake, a bonfire, stargazing and watching & listening to the Loons. This cottage is small but makes Great use of the space it has & is perfect for a couple of people or a small group. We would definitely stay here again if we're in the area. So Many Great things about it!

Awesome Location

The tranquility of the lake in the front yard was awesome. Perfect location to take day trips Fish Town, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Charlevoix and Petoskey. Swam in the crystal clear water everyday, steps away from the cottage. A kayak or paddle board would make this the perfect location, but there aren’t any at the cottage. Other than the lack of a kayak, it was perfect.

I'm so happy you enjoyed the peace and tranquility at Nowland Lake. I understand about the lack of kayaks and I wish we had them too.....it's the perfect lake for it. We were advised against it due to liability, etc. but many guests rent them from Jordan Outfitters and they'll deliver them out to the lake. Hope you'll come back again when you're looking to visit Northern Michigan. Best, Jill

Happy place on Nowland Lake

The owner, Jill, has been genuinely warm & welcoming, happily sharing info & ideas for fun things to do in the area. The cute little lake house is beautifully situated on Nowland Lake, & is a perfect place to watch stunning sunsets. The neighborhood & lake are blissfully quiet. There we enjoyed kayaking & fishing. The cottage itself is clean & well appointed, very comfortable, with lots of windows overlooking the lake. Only a short drive into town where there are lots of restaurant & shopping choices. This has been a perfect choice for us to enjoy a lovely get away & de-stress.

Beautiful place to stay

We stayed at this cottage August 1 - 6. Absolutely beautiful! Very peaceful and the scenery is awesome. We spent a lot of time on the dock watching the wildlife and listening to the Loons and the Mourning Doves. The sunsets are wonderful. This cottage has everything you need - just bring your clothes, bathing suits, and food to cook on the grill. There are several other cottages close by so the weekend was a bit more active and noisy with people around. Charlevoix is just a few miles away so take some time to visit there, you won't be disappointed!

Lovely Lake

There was a lot to like about this cottage, especially the peaceful location right on a small lake with swimming available right outside the door. The living room / kitchen was just as pictured, with nice windows and views of the lake and sunset. There is a lot of shared public space which lends a nice atmosphere to the cottage. The bedroom and bathroom were small and dark, though. I opted to sleep on the sleeper sofa in the living room instead of staying in the bedroom and I spent as little time in the shower as possible. I wasn't expecting anything fancy, but these two spaces would benefit from a refresh and deep clean.

Jen, i’m so glad you enjoyed your time at the cottage and appreciate your feedback. we do plan on a bathroom renovation next year including a shower upgrade - it’s a small space to work with :-)

We have been vacationing on Nowland Lake for 15 years and when the opportunity finally came up to buy one for ourselves, we took the leap. We plan to spend all summer there once we retire, but in the meantime, we are happy to be able to offer it for rent so others can experience and enjoy this very special place!
