Acadia National Park TWO Seaside adjacent Houses! Sleeps 20 15 min to Acadia!
Briar Rose by the Sea cottage has 3 bedrooms plus 5 sleeper sofas plus bunk house with two futon bunkbeds plus converted garage called the pirate room with 4 futon bunkbeds PLUS adjacent house that has 2 bedrooms/kitchen 2 futons/1 sleeper sofa in upstairs level PLUS another living area on first floor with kitchen, bath 1 br plus additional sleeping in living area with futon bunkbeds and queen sleeper. This is for LARGER GROUPS wanting to vacation together but with privacy - all overlooking the mountains of Acadia National Park across Western Bay in Trenton. Huge yard for your family activities and the water facing deck can hold and seat everyone in your party. If you have a large group vacation planned, this is the place. The beach area is clear of large rocks and is a beautiful pebble/sand beach-- a hard find on the rocky coast of Maine! Couple this with the mountain views and the Atlantic ocean and you will want to return here every year. . This is the ONLY property you will find to accommodate large groups with 2 separate residences and a bunk house!!! All on one large property with over 300 FT of BEACH FRONTAGE and a HUGE lawn for family activities AND a HUGE Cedar Works Pirate themed playground!!!
YOU CAN ALSO RENT EITHER HOUSE ALONE FOR SMALLER GROUPS ask!
I Must Go Back to the Sea Again...: You will want to return year after year to this very special spot. There are a lot of rentals to choose from, but none like this. Accommodating large groups with beautiful grounds and beach so close to Acadia and overlooking the mountains of Acadia combined with the deep water frontage make this a one of a kind vacation spot and THE PLACE for Family reunions and large groups!
Make Sure you have Deep Water frontage--Not Tidal!: This is deep water frontage. Don't be fooled by houses 'located on the ocean' that have tidal frontage. Tidal frontage means you have nothing but mud (and a foul smell!) when the tide goes out and the water disappears. True deep water frontage means you will still have deep water even when the tide is out. Many properties listed in Trenton Maine have tidal frontage--don't be fooled by a good price!
Several Golf Courses are nearby: Bar Harbor Golf course is just minutes away and down the road to Bar Harbor you will find the famed 'Kebo Valley' golf course.
There's a Summer Place...: This is truly an exceptional property with a breathtaking view of the ocean with the backdrop of the mountains of Acadia National Park. A deep water mooring is provided should you wish to sail or boat during your stay here. Spend your days combing the beach for starfish, sand dollars and pretty colored shells and sea glass. The beach is cleared of large rocks (something no one is allowed to do anymore) which is a hard find on the rocky coast of Maine. Couple this with the smell of the sea and a warm summer breeze and you will want to return year after year to rest your soul. This spot is great for ocean swimming or wading as well as for snorkeling or scuba diving.
But be prepared to just sit back in your beach chair with your toes dug into the warm sand while the warm summer breeze caresses your cares away. Don't be surprised if you catch yourself smiling all the time...we'll know why...
Briar Rose main house - 3 BR - 1 king and 2 queen. Main living room has 3 pullout sofas. Sitting area off kitchen has 2 pullout sofas. Bunk house off the deck of this house has 2 futon bunk beds. The garage with this house has 3 futon bunk beds if you wish to use them. We don't call this area living space - it's up to you if you wish to use it. It still has garage doors but it is decorated in a pirate theme. Ariel's Grotto has 2 BR. 1 is a queen and the other has 2 twin beds. There are 3 futons in the living room. The basement is a garage. It has 2 futon bunk beds and several sofas. It is not described as living space. You can use it but that is up to you. Remember, this is set up for our family and we just leave it the way we have it. We don't call the garage areas bedrooms or even sleeping rooms. See photos.

Another great stay
This was our second summer visiting this property, and we had a great time again! We think it has an ideal layout for families with kids- a huge lawn, a practically private beach, a big bunk room for the kids, enough bedrooms for up to 5 couples/10 adults, very close to Bar Harbor and Acadia, and beautiful views.
The houses were accurately described in the listing, were clean upon our arrival, and the owners were very courteous and responsive. Thank you Debbie and Paul!

Wonderful stay
This property is in wonderful location with a great lawn for kids and games, a very nice rocky beach on a quiet cove, and great views of Acadia. This is an ideal property for large family groups, as there were tons of bunk spaces for kids in addition to the multiple bedrooms for the adults. It was as described in the listing and the photos. The hosts, Paul and Debbie, were remarkably responsive, usually addressing any questions we had in under an hour. Similarly, the few minor issues we found were addressed right away.
We had a great week and would go back!

Beautiful property!!
We stayed at Briar Rose and Ariel’s Grotto for 4 nights. We had 10 adults, 4 teens, 11 and 6 year old. The kids loved staying in the grotto having some space to themselves. The main house was very comfortable and kitchen was well stocked with all we could need. The views were amazing! We felt like we were in a Robert McClosky storybook. We were a short drive from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The IGA was 5 minutes away and many lobster pounds close by. The location is perfect!! Debbie responded quickly to any questions we had. We would highly recommend this location for a truly amazing Maine vacation!!!

Awesome
Deborah's two homes are spacious and clean. She has the home well equipped with all bedding and necessary items to care for a home. Walmart, Shaws, HomeDepot, etc., is a quick 10 minutes away, so shopping is easy. 30 minutes aware is Acadia. You are closest to the Hull Cove entrance; Cadillac Mountain, etc. For those who fly, the airport is approx. 10 minutes away. As for the property, Grotto has its own kitchen with 3 futons in the adjoining livingroom, a bedroom with 2 twin beds; and a bedroom with 1 queen; downstairs, you have multiple couches that turn into beds. Awesome for kids. Oh and a deck off the livingroom overseeing the bay. The Ariel is spacious with everything you could possible need. Our deck overlooked the bay as well. We brought our own kayaks and went from one island to the other. There is a small shed that has 2 futons in it, we did not use. And for those who like outdoor fires on the beach, my kids made a firepit with seating out of the materials found on the beach. If I had to say anything con about the rental, the kids were disappointed the Grotto had no wifi, but for my kids, wifi, tv and indoor activities is very limited and they are not there for that. They can come to the main house if they needed access. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this to anyone with a large group. Deborah, we thank you for such a great visit to the Acadia area. Linda F.

So sorry to hear these properties only rated as "good" to these renters. This is the email I received from them after their stay and before this review: "You are awesome. Hope to return in the future. Stay well." You can't win 'em all I guess! Please check out our other reviews and we will have updated photos soon! We would like to point out a few things: (1) It is not 30 minutes to Acadia National Park from this property. It is around 15 minutes. Also Walmart and the major shopping listed in the review are 20 minutes away not just 10 minutes, but there is an IGA that is about 10 minutes away. (2) There is more than a "shed" as described in their review. It is a bunk house and was build as such. It has electricity, an overhead fan inside for cooling and plenty of outlets for laptops, phone charging, tv's and such. It has a smoke and CO2 detector and outside flood light to illuminate the area. Inside are two new futons. The majority of our renters have children who absolutely love the experience of sleeping in a bunk house. It is located between the nautical themed cedar works playground and the new large deck off the main house (Briar Rose) and there is plenty of illumination between the bunk house and the main house! The only "con" mentioned by this renter and the reason we assume they rated us as only "good" is because only the main house has WiFi and not the guest house "Ariel's Grotto." This is how it is described in our ad. Thank you for taking the time to read our response and read the other reviews!

Stayed here with extended family.
The property was perfect. Plenty of room and space for everyone. Kids were able to play in the lawn, playscape and by the water. Communication was fast in regards to answering questions. Short drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Recommend bringing kayaks or paddle boards as there were none available to rent for the house.

Great place near Acadia
The property had spectacular views. It was an easy 20 minute trip into Acadia NP, and yet far enough away to feel secluded. Very quiet and lots of outdoor space and immediate beach access. The check-in, check-out was hassle free. Definitely recommend it.

Amazing property
This is an amazing place. The location right on the ocean was wonderful. We came as a get away to remember my son who died 2 years ago and were looking for a quite place where we could be together as a family. This was exactly what we wanted. The view is amazing looking right over the water and that was so relaxing. I got up every morning and drank my coffee looking at the water and the forested land in the distance. The park is with in easy driving distance which provided daily time to go hike and see the sites.
The homes were perfect for our group. We had ample space to sleep and eat. The seating inside is limited but just like a normal family get together for us we had people just spreading to the living room to eat sitting on the couch. Also outside provides plenty of areas to eat in warmer weather.
We brought our own kayaks and the beach was perfect for launching them.
We couldn’t have wanted anything else in this property and will come back again.

Beware of the occupancy agreement
The house is cleaned by the family and it is evident that it has not had a professional cleaning. At check in we were made aware that we were required to sign a lengthy occupancy agreement. I would never have booked this property if I had seen this agreement in advance. She sent her daughter to pick up the agreement the morning after check in. Clause #1 this licensor retains the right to immediately terminate this contract and remove the licensees or their guests
Clause #2 this licensor retains absolute control and unlimited access to this property during the course of this license to occupy. The property is monitored, etc.
This contract goes on for 5 pages. It was beyond ridiculous and Vrbo was not aware that it existed. The agreement also demands that all windows be closed if you are leaving for any period of time.
The house has no air conditioning.
I asked during our stay about leaving a few windows open while we went to the park. I stated that the radar was clear with no rain in the area and she said “Please don’t. You can open it up when you get back. We get really hard rain here mixed with weather like this. An emergency carpenter to fix things will cost you thousands and he will be working during your stay. It’s not worth it and it has happened before. It actually stays pretty cool there.” It was 86 degrees that day. We still got the experience of contractors working during our stay though. They did roof repairs while we there because the neighbor reported “a shingle on the ground.” That was the night BEFORE the remnants of a tropical storm blew by. This owner should not be permitted to use Airbnb or Vrbo and should work through an independent agency that discloses this agreement at the time of the booking. The owners call the home phone daily and communicate with you so that nothing is in writing in the Vrbo platform. It is a home that they should enjoy and not rent. Don’t forget to bring anything because they block amazon from delivering ANYTHING during your stay.
I asked to do a walk through during our check out process and her husband refused to give me anything saying that everything was in satisfactory condition. The place looks good in pictures. It needs some TLC. We were told not to drink the water so we used a partially functioning OLD water cooler. The stairs going down to the beach are dangerous. The dishwasher works intermittently. The location is great.

Carrie’s review is in retaliation for being caught and reported for recording our minor daughters inside our home after check out. My husband walked in from the adjacent property and caught her and told her to leave, called VRBO and called authorities as they advised. Carrie made no complaints to us or VRBO during her stay. She communicated once to leave open the windows.
1. Our properties are very clean. 2. We use a license to occupy agreement with the wording required by law just like hotels in the area use. It allows us to enter to protect people and property but we’ve never needed to use it once in 12 years. 3. The property is “monitored” by neighbors, meaning if you bring unauthorized people/pets or hold events without proper approval and required insurance, we will know. 4. We require you to lock doors and shut windows when you leave the property. On the ocean, the wind blows rain inside and it can leak from the second floor and damage 1st floor ceilings. It has happened. Carrie agreed but later insisted she be able to leave windows open while she was gone. Because she insisted, she was informed she would be responsible for any damage as a result. Curiously, Carrie did not mention that it did, in fact, rain that same afternoon. Our ad states we do not have air conditioning. It was an unusually hot week. Typically it is cooler. We do have plenty of overhead fans. 5. Four shingles blew off and a roofer spent 20 minutes outside to repair since the remnants of a tropical storm was expected the following day. We thought we were being attentive as Carrie’s party stayed dry as a result. 6. We called Carrie twice, not daily, because she did not respond to VRBO messaging. Once to clear a good time for the roofer. A second to discuss a noise complaint from neighbors. She refused to speak or respond in writing & we let VRBO know about her peculiar behavior 7. Amazon delivery is not blocked. Same day delivery is unavailable in rural Maine. 8. We refunded 100 per cent of Carrie’s deposit as we do 99.9 per cent of the time. We have only had two security deposit issues in twelve years. 9. Water cooler was broken. If she had told us, a new one would have been delivered. 10. Dishwasher is working but maybe she didn’t know how to use this model.
We thank you for reading our response. We truly enjoy hosting family reunions. We have a special and magical place we wish to share with you! You will love Briar Rose by the Sea!

Amazing views
The location right on the water with your own private beach and views of Acadia can’t be beat! The property has a really big backyard too which was great for playing games and fire pit. Trenton is a cute little town, grocery is nearby, lobster shacks, and a great bakery nearby. Takes about 20 minutes to get to Bar Harbor and Acadia. We rented bikes but realized the house location was not best for that, however we did take them to Acadia and rode some of the trails there which was great. The house did not have a/c which we didn’t expect, but it’s Maine and I imagine 11.5 months out of the year you don’t need it! It was just a really hot week when we were there. Overall great week.

Rare find near Acadia NP
For large groups visiting Acadia National Park and surrounding area, this property indeed is a great find. Does it compete with a 5-star hotel? Definitely not. It is 5-star in its own way though.
The property has a main house and a guest house about 20 yards apart. It has a large yard, some large deck space, and is next to the ocean. I mean not only you see the ocean from the windows, you can step into the ocean from the backyard.
The houses are relatively old, while the bedrooms are comfortable and clean, large groups may need to have some people sleep on the living room sofa beds and/or bunk beds in the garages. Bathrooms are functional, but nothing fancy and water temperature wasn't that stable. For large groups, the bathrooms can also be crowded. Look beyond a few shortcomings though (easier if you have a small group), this property is a haven and can also be a great value.
We appreciated the owner stocked the kitchen with very large pots and plenty of dishes and cups. There were many bath towels provided and also many blankets and sleeping bags. There were cleaning supplies and laundry supplies. There are gas BBQ grills and also several picnic tables next to the guest house. We didn't have children, but I'm sure they will be happy staying there too. Of course, getting up in the morning to watch sun rise from the ocean is a treat.
The location is very quiet, and about 30 mins away from both bar harbor area and southwest harbor area. It is convenient for the shops in Ellsworth too.
The night we arrived, there was a storm and knocked the power out in a large area. The owners warned us and sent us some flash lights and extra heaters. They also sent us a new generator to power the refrigerator and some lights the second day. The power was restored shortly after, but that was a great effort and we thank them for that.

Memorable family reunion
We had 20 people- 3 generations, 15 adults, and 5 children. We sailed, zip lined, swam, attended children's theater, did paddleboard yoga, ate dinner together every night, celebrated birthdays, went to Ellsworth Community Theater. Enough room for everyone, beautiful vistas--all in all a wonderful time for all!

More than enough room for the 20 of us! Incredible views! Great for launching kayaks! Seals!!!
The owners have gone out of their way to make this our home away from home! There were welcoming bouquets of flowers, coffee, a decorated cake, toys for kids, jam and many other quaint and friendly touches.
The home has lovely bedrooms which we used for parents and since there were 11 kids (12-23 yrs) they spread out in the garage ( which is really a dorm room with a pirate theme ) with plenty of futon bunk beds, a couch and TV. The down stairs of the other home on the property had numerous futons and hide a beds down stairs also! The upstairs had hide a bed couches and 2 bed rooms. Our group of twenty had way more than enough room! We never did count how many beds didn’t get used!
The outside had picnic tables, grills, and at least 9 hammock chairs with the amazing view of Mount Desert Island including Cadillac Mountain! The lawn was spacious so the kids could play Capture the Flag! Our kayaks could be launched right from the beach which we did everyday at least once. We went exploring and looking for seals in the early morning mist. A magical and beautiful time on glassy water. One of our sons saw a baby seal within 4 feet of his kayak.
The owners have bottled water dispensers and if you let them know they bring refills. The kitchen and laundry are easy to use.
We truly enjoyed the peacefulness of the area, the beauty of the view and the comfort of the home. We took care of it and it took care of us.
Thank you Debbie and family for your hospitality!

Thank you Donna and family! We really enjoyed hosting your group! It is such a joy to have nice, appreciative people such as the Jestels. They left our property just as they found it. We thank them so much for choosing our location and for taking time to leave kind words. They are welcome back anytime! We hope others will come and discover the magic that awaits! Yes, we have converted the garage area of Briar Rose into a pirate room hangout. There are three futon bunk beds which can sleep 12! We also have the bunk house that is insulated with white paneled walls and grey vinyl plank flooring. It has an overhead fan, tv with DVDs, and two futon bunk beds that can sleep six—oh, and outlets to charge those necessary teen cellphones!!! The garage area at Ariel’s Grotto has a tv, futon bunk beds and sofas and pullouts. This is all beyond the five bedrooms and pullout sofas and futons in the houses. We can host very large groups quite comfortably if this arrangement works for you. Again, if you are a group of nice, happy, appreciative
Family and friends, we would love to host you! We will be posting photos of these areas soon! Again, thank you Donna and family. We will always remember your kindness. We hope you will come back and visit us soon!

It's all about the view
This property was not what we had expected based on the VRBO listing. The owners said that VRBO had changed the description and info without their knowledge, so I thought I'd leave a detailed comment so future renters know what exactly is included.
The property is two homes with 5 bedrooms total. The listing when we rented said 6 bedrooms in two homes, plus a bunkhouse. There are three bedrooms in the main house (Briar Rose) and two in the guest house (Ariel's Grotto). There is a tool shed in the backyard (Bunkhouse) that has two futons.
Briar Rose has two full bathrooms upstairs with showers. The downstairs bathroom has a shower that I think is wheelchair accessible, meaning it had no shower curtain and was open to the rest of the bathroom. The main house first floor has a kitchen, dining room and two living rooms with couches. The guest house had a full bathroom upstairs as well as a kitchen and living room area with three futons. The lower level has several sofabed couches.
Pros:
The view is amazing. It is a 5 star view
Huge backyard with playset and lots of picnic tables and nice outdoor grills
Proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia was very nice
Accommodates a large group
Has two houses for privacy if wanted
Well stocked with pots and pans - even a crockpot is provided
Includes toaster, coffee pot and blender
Plenty of nice bath towels, washcloths and hand towels are provided
Both houses have views and nice decks
Cons:
No sheets provided for any of the futons or sofa beds (just blankets and sleeping bags)
Some dirty pans and a broken glass were found in the cupboard
One of the back sliding doors did not lock
Briar Rose has one dining table with 6 chairs - one was broken
The bunkhouse is a tool shed with plywood floor, two futons and a fan. There is electric and two little windows, but it was not what I would consider a true bedroom.
Things to note:
Contract requires you to remove all paper and food products at the end of your stay. In other rentals, we've been able to leave and use items from previous renters. So prepare to bring napkins, extra toilet paper, and any salt/pepper, spice, oil, etc. that you may want.
If you have a paddle board or kayak, you would love this property as it has a great beach for those activities.

Wow! We really tried to please this group—we really, really did! They hated the bunk house so we offered her party a 100% refund to leave because they were berating us over the phone so badly that we were really shook up! They were not happy with the bunkhouse being used as a bedroom. We agree that it is not a bedroom and that is why we call it a bunkhouse, provide photos of a bunkhouse, and describe it as a bunkhouse on our listing. It is a brand new building built and purchased locally to be a bunkhouse. We had an electrician wire it, put in a smoke and C02 detector, add an overhead light and fan, and put in outlets for cell phones or laptops. It is located just steps away from the large deck of Briar Rose. On the other side is the nautical themed playground. It has an outside light over the door so that kids can easily get to the main house at night. Kids usually fight over using it and it is clearly described in the description and photos. We offered to buy them additional beds and set them up for their party. They refused this. We then offered to buy them rollaways to use. They also refused that. We offered them a 100% refund as long as they left because quite frankly, we did not want them as guests after the way they spoke to us over the phone. They refused the refund saying we should give them a substantial refund and let them stay as well. The impression we had was that if we didn’t let them stay free we would get a bad review. We contacted HomeAway about these guests. They gave us good advice on dealing with any other party like this in the future. First we know there were no broken dishes or dirty pans. We are positive because we are the cleaners. We examine every piece of silverware, glass, cup, or cookware each and every time we change over. We never change this routine. This party had more guests than they contracted for and didn’t pay for them. They broke the toaster, water cooler, and covered one shower in hair dye that my husband (in his 60’s) spent over a half hour scrubbing. Again they were offered a 100 % refund but wanted to stay and have a refund too !! We hope you will look at our other reviews. We are one of the only places that allow a large group and usually groups of this size are just happy to be together in one location and realize that they will need to use bunk houses, sleeper sofas, or futons. Our description is accurate on bedrooms, sleeper sofas, futons, and the bunkhouse. We describe our bathrooms accurately. We describe that we make up all the beds and that we have blankets and sleeping bags for the pullouts and futons. That is in our description. Most of our guests read our description, look at our photos, or ask for clarification if they have any questions. The bunkhouse is usually a big hit with kids and teens. We do not leave leftover food, salt and pepper, or even paper products for the next guests for health and sanitation reasons and we feel most of our guests feel the same way. We leave our guests flowers, cake, local wine or local beer as a welcoming gift because we really enjoy what we do and what we have to offer. We did that for this guest as well! We hope you will consider us for your large group or reunion! Please feel free to ask any questions or request more photos or clarification. We want you to be happy! Thank you for taking the time to read our response! We really do aim to please our guests!

Breathtaking Serenity
There are not many places out there in this neck of the woods that will allow a gathering over 16 plus people. The great thing about Briar Rose by the Sea is that it does it in style. Our group had a wonderful time playing on the beach, the provided swing set, and the massive green lawn backyard. The kids loved finding starfish, crabs, shells, and other sea life during low tide. At night we went out quite a few times to see the bioluminescence plankton. Kids loved seeing those light up at night.
We had a wonderful time and Briar Rose by the Sea was located in a great location for what we wanted to do. We took a few day trips over to Bar Harbor and Acadia. We also went into town, don't miss PugNuts Ice Cream in Surry Maine (best ever). We ventured inland to see the breathtaking beauty of fall. The location offered us so many places.

Perfect for our Multi Generational Family
For our family group of 17, Briar Rose by the Sea was a fantastic vacation home!
We brought kayaks, paddle boards and tubes and used them every day of our 1 week vacation. The water was perfect for swimming too. Some of us paddled with seals which was very fun. The huge deck was perfect for setting up picnic tables and having a family dinner together each night. Having the Grotto and bunkhouse really made our large group comfortable. The property is just a short drive to the beautiful Acadia National Park. Someone from our group was in the park every day....hiking, biking, scrambling on rocks.
To top it all off, the weather could not have been better. Sunny and warm with cool ocean breezes.
Debbie is the perfect host, answering questions very promptly.
If vacationing near the coast of Maine and seeing the beautiful Acadia NP is on your list, check our Briar Rose. It’s very lovely.

Beautiful location near Acadia NP, one drawback
We rented the Briar Rose & Ariel's Grotto properties for a family reunion group of 17. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here! The property is within relatively quick driving distance of Acadia NP/Bar Harbor and was quiet and clean. The large back yard and private beach area was pristine and fantastic. The owners were quick to assist with helping us restart the water heater when it went out once during our stay.
We just have one critical comment. Upon arrival, the owners had left a separate rental contract we were also required to sign with some surprisingly strict cleaning rules for a deposit return (essentially, leave it as clean as you found it including scrubbed fridges, ovens, bathrooms). We usually leave rental properties clean and organized but the deep clean tasks are always covered by the owner.
One note is that large parties should be mindful that the property has limited bedroom space so we ended up with some kids sleeping on floors, etc. Not a problem for us and beds were as advertised, just consider for your group.

Please check our other reviews! Tim A. complained his party of 17 had to sleep on the floor. We have 17 spots just in the main house (not counting the bunk house or Ariel's Grotto).
1. King with a twin chair pullout bedroom (3)
2. Queen bedroom (2)
3. Queen bedroom #2 (2)
4. 3 Queen pullouts in main living room (6)
5. 2 Queen pullouts in sitting room (4)
I'm counting 17 just in that house!
The bunk house has two futons
Ariel's Grotto has a queen bedroom and a bedroom with two twins and there are 3 queen futons in that living room There is also a first floor at Ariel's Grotto that we don't count as living but that is full of sofas and pullouts. NO ONE had to sleep on a floor. Please check out my other reviews. #2 There is only ONE contract: If you don't sign ahead, you get it on arrival. #3. We expect you to leave it as you found it as far as cleanliness. Our cleaning crew is two adults in their 60s and three children. The professional cleaning quote for the three buildings for a Saturday turnover was $1350. We think you'd rather we didn't add that on to the price! This is our home, not a hotel. We just ask that you leave it as you found it. Thank you!

Perfect place for a big family gathering
We couldn't have been happier--10 adults, 9 children. Five bedrooms for the 10 adults. 6 kids slept in a huge space with 3 big futons in the smaller house. Pull-out couches were also available . Huge deck where we had all our meals. Beachfront was ideal--shallow enough for the littlest to play and skim rocks. Worked fine to launch kayaks (rented from a nearby rental place). Kids loved the play structure (swings, slide etc).Twenty minutes to Acadia National Park. Debbie left all kinds of treats in the house for us (huge cake, pancake batter, jam, maple syryp, taffy, etc.) We had a great time!

Spectacular!!!!!
Great place for our family reunion. Everything about the stay was incredible - the lodging, the views, the hiking, the lobster...I could go on and on! The owners were more than accommodating...they even had welcome gifts for our family of twelve-a large cake with Welcome to Maine written on it, along with numerous Maine products. I highly recommend staying at Briar Rose and the Ariel's Grotto. 👍👍👍👍

Lots of space, and nice waterfront
Lots of space that could work just fine for a huge group. Has two grills and nice, newer washer and dryer. Nice location that is convenient enough to everything you want to do, but far enough away from the craziness. Waterfront, yard, and playground was great for the kids. Owners also left lots of new toys, games, and stuff for all of us to use while there.
Be sure you look over the contract prior if possible, as there were a few surprises that seemed out of the ordinary for rentals such as an 8am check out time, which was very early for a group of around 15.

A superb accomodation in a gorgeous setting
We had a family reunion here with ages ranging from 16-95. There were ten of us and we had a wonderful time. Everything was as we were led to expect and more. The beach is wonderful and great for shelling and swimming and kayaking. We had everything we needed and more. We would highly recommend this rental. You cannot go wrong. We hope to go back!!
