Big Mountain Cabins is centrally located in the Black Hills, just a few miles from Keystone. We are minutes from many of the Black Hills main attraction, like Mount Rushmore, Bear Country, Custer State Park, Reptile Gardens, 1880 Train, and Crazy Horse. Hike Boulder Hill Trail, Storm Mountain Trail, Flume Trail, and the Strato Bowl. Enjoy a day at the lake like Sheridan, and Pactola. If you are looking to stay in a cabin just a short drive to all the attractions. Then Big Mountain Cabins is where you want to stay!

Cabin #4 offers a kitchen stocked with dinner ware, pot and pan, utensils, toaster, coffee maker, and outdoor grill. Rest on a king size ultra-luxury hybrid plush mattress on the main floor, and two queen size ultra-luxury hybrid plush mattresses in the loft. This cabin also has a fully furnished bathroom with a full tub and shower, towels and linens are provided.

For all you hiking enthusiasts, this cabin is close to many national forest trails including Boulder Hill Mountain Trail. This trail head is 2.2 miles from Cabin #4. And for all you mountain bike enthusiasts, this cabin is 2 miles from Storm Mountain Trail. Storm Mountain trail offers 11.61 miles of pure fun!

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- Our cabins are on a hillside and there is only enough parking for one vehicle. If you have a extra vehicle, trailer, or motorcycle please message us before you make your reservation.
- If you are riding on a motorcycle, we ask that you be an experienced rider. The road to the cabins are loose gravel with three switchbacks. If you have any questions please message us.

Great Home Base

Stayed here over Labor Day weekend - the location made it easy to access everything we wanted to see. It was a great home base for our weekend in between hikes and sights! Property was very clean and even though we were located next to other cabins we never felt like we didn't have privacy.

Great place to stay!

Everything about this place was amazing. It was clean and well laid out for a place to stay with three adults and three kids for a week. The hosts were easy to communicate with and provided great tips on where to go. Great location if you want to visit Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, and the Black Hills National Forest.

Perfect and peaceful

The cabin was perfect for our family of five for our first family vacation to the Black Hills. We liked the location to all of the attractions. It was a peaceful place to relax and re-energize. The cabin had everything we needed as it was detail-oriented. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Perfect in every way

This cabin was perfect for a girls' week stay in SD. Jenn was immediately responsive to any questions we had. The cabin is darling - great location, quiet, very comfortable beds and immaculate. We loved every minute of our stay and would definitely stay again.

Great Location and Clean!

We couldn’t have asked for a more convenient location that made it easy to access all the things we wanted to see. The cabin was very clean and the perfect space for our family of 5. We had great communication from the host before and during the stay to make sure we were happy. I would definitely recommend!

Quick trip with all the things!

We loved our stay! The cabin is immaculately clean and the beds were so comfortable. It's located perfectly for a trip to Mount Rushmore and a ride on the 1880 train. The owners were so responsive and even had our cabin ready a little before check in! They also gave us the recommendation for the Rushmore Cave and Adventure Park which the kids in our group absolutely loved! Would definitely book again!

Mt Rushmore Trip

This property was the ideal location for our first trip to the area. It is convenient to Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Needles Highway, Spearfish, Deadwood and only an hour and a half from Devil’s Tower, WY. Cabin is spotless and very well done, and Jenn is great about checking on you without being intrusive. We highly recommend it!

Wonderful cabin

This was our first family trip to South Dakota. We took our 3 kids - 10, 7, and 4. There was plenty of space to sleep. We enjoyed the outside deck to relax. The beds were so comfortable!!!! I loved how close it was to all the sights. We would definitely come again!

Cozy, well designed cabin

We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin. The bathroom and kitchen are well appointed, the beds are very comfortable, the space is clean. The owners were nothing but helpful and a lovely family to work with! We highly recommend this cabin (or any of the other 4 they own) to anyone travelling to the Black Hills. It's quiet and a fantastic location to easily reach all the sites from Mount Rushmore, to Jewel or Wind Cave to the Badlands to Deadwood!

Perfect location

This little cabin was absolutely perfect for us. Very clean and the right amount of space, the upstairs loft was perfect for our kids ages 20 and 15 and the king bed downstairs for my husband and I. We had plenty of towels, toilet paper and kitchen supplies. I appreciated Jennifer checking on us to see if we needed anything during our stay.It was the perfect location based on all the places we wanted to visit. We would definitely stay here again.

A gem in the Blackhills

Wonderful cabin with a great location! We enjoyed every moment of our stay, and we had all we needed to make ourselves at home. We spent our days exploring all the Blackhills has to offer and loved returning home each night to relax. The cabin is clean, modern and comfortable. There was plenty of space for our family of five. It was well stocked for us to enjoy our dinners in while planning our next day’s adventures. Thank you for a great stay!

Overall it was a great stay. Only recommendation I have is that basic cooking supplies should be included. Oil, salt, pepper, sugar, etc.

Jude and Jenn are the owners and operators of Big Mountain Cabins. Jude is a skilled log home builder, and has been building log homes for 30 years. In fact Jude built each cabin from the ground up. Jenn has experience in hotel management and a degree in Business administration. Both took their talents and built Big Mountain Cabins. Jude and Jenn have lived in the Black Hills for a good part of their lives. Jenn is actually a fifth generation to live in the Black Hills. A fun fact is the cabins are located a mile from where Jenn's great great grandparents homestead. Jude and Jenn are proud to call the Black Hills their home!
