The Hummingbird House ...On The Farm

Ideal for family getaway or quiet retreat. The house features three outdoor seating areas for watching the hummingbirds or relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Hike or bike on 1300 private acres. Located in the center of the Potomac Highlands, we are near historic Greenland Gap, Dolly Sods, Smoke Hole, Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, Blackwater Falls, Canaan Valley and two commercial caverns. Sportsmen will enjoy two trout streams within four miles of the property. The kids will enjoy our private bass pond. Just bring your gear. If the dates you desire are not available, please consider our other property The Lazy Bear at Dolly Sods.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hummingbird House! We were in town for a baseball tournament in Petersburg, and the drive was only about 25 minutes, making it a very convenient location.This was probably the cleanest vacation rental we've ever stayed in. The home and property are absolutely beautiful and exceptionally well maintained. We especially enjoyed spending time outdoors, with several great spaces to relax, and loved fishing in the pond just down the road. The fresh pepperoni loaf the hosts left for us was such a thoughtful and delicious welcome!The only minor downsides were that the beds are quite squeaky, so every movement made noise, which affected our sleep a bit. We also prefer having TVs in the bedrooms, and only one bedroom has one. These are small personal preferences and didn't take away from our overall experience.Overall, we highly recommend the Hummingbird House. It's a beautiful, spotless home with thoughtful hosts, and we'd happily stay here again!

Beautiful property

Well maintained and spacious house. Great hot tub and fire pit. Great place to reconnect with family! Owners were gracious and friendly. Definitely recommend this place. Book it, you won’t be disappointed.

Very accommodating

Had a wonderful time at the hummingbird house. Our group needed a place to stay for our ski trip and was thoroughly pleased with all the amenities and enough rooms to accommodate our group. Will definitely be going back.

The Hummingbird House was fantastic! We were in town for a baseball tournament in Petersburg and this was the perfect place for 2 families of 4! The kids loved the big back yard, cornhole, fishing in the pond and hot tub while the parents enjoyed sitting around the fire. The outdoor space is amazing! There was also a delicious loaf of pepperoni roll on our arrival. The owner Tanya stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed.

Family stay for wedding

Property was IMMACULATE! Everything was top notch from the towels to the linens to the kitchen being well stocked! Owners were lovely and gave tips to get where we were going and local waterfalls as well as a fantastic well stocked bass pond. This place is amazing!!

Absolutely perfect!

We just spent a week at the property and couldn’t be more pleased. The house was spotless and we had plenty of room for 4 adults and 4 teenagers. It was the perfect combination of relaxation and having stuff to do within a short drive. Trent and Tonja were amazing hosts! I will be recommending this place to others.

Fun Bike Week

The stay was excellent, the house was very clean with all the things that you would need. The views were fantastic and sitting around the fire at night made the day even better. If you want to get away and enjoy the view and relax, then this is the place for you. The hosts were fantastic, I have stayed in a number of places, but the host Tonya goes out of her way to make you stay the best. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Another amazing stay

Our second time back. We were hoping for a bit warmer weather but that didn’t keep us from having a great time. The home is fitting for both our families. Enough space to spread out and still spend plenty of time together. Love all the outdoor areas to explore, even on the property. It will be hard to find another home like this on our next excursion

Wonderful getaway for dear friends

The house was exactly as the pictures depicted!! Trent and Tonya went over and beyond in making our trip oh so memorable. We celebrated a dear friend's 50th birthday and the beauty of the property allowed us some well deserved down time !! Many thanks Tonya and Trent!
