Serene with lots of special touches, this beautiful mountain home is well equipped for comfort and convenience. Mother Nature will surround you as you relax in the outdoor hot tub or read on the large private deck. Consider watching a classic movie by a cozy fire after you have finished preparing your favorite meal in the fully equipped kitchen or retreat to the deck for a beverage and amazing star-gazing. Hikers will love the location. This charming cottage provides incredibly easy access to Dolly Sods and all of its beauty! Winter visits will require a 4-wheel drive the spacious carport makes loading and unloading an easier process. Although Foxwood is certainly in a private, secluded setting, it is an easy drive to the slopes at either Timberline or Canaan Valley. Summer visitors can be at Canaan's golf course in no more than 15 minutes!

Family stay at foxwood.

Property was nice does need some upgrades, loved the hot tub, and dog friendly places and how the deck had gates, and dogs loved the dog door to go out on the deck, and loved the fox theam threw out the house.

Our rental was perfect with a cozy fireplace and relaxing hot tub, which provided us with a great place to soak after some fairly aggressive hiking. Plan to come back next year.

A Great House If You Are Looking For Peace and Serenity!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were at Foxwood for five days and had a wonderful experience. The house looked exactly like the photos! It was very clean. We loved the location of the house. It is very secluded so it is extremely quiet and peaceful, serene and peaceful. The hot tub on the back deck was wonderful on the cool mornings. This is a place that I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get away for a few days.

Mostly loved the cabin

The cabin itself was great. We read a lot of the reviews and the description of the property which I would say was pretty accurate. The property the home is in is absolutely beautiful. The fishing spots were amazing. The cabin itself could do with a good cleaning. We had an issue with ants in the kitchen so we cleaned everything up that was in the sink and ran the disposal that had food in it still. That took care of the problem for the most part. Otherwise we loved this cabin and would definitely stay there again.

Foxwood Love but Help!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love this location after staying here several times. However, I don't think we can stay here again until the couch are replaced. By the end of each day our back were killing us from the lack of support of the couches. This makes us sad but not good to return from vacation with a sore back. We both experienced the same thing.

Really Great Location

We really enjoyed our stay at Foxwood. The proximity to Dolly Sods was amazing---we hiked there everyday we were there. It was a 5-minute drive to amazing hikes where we saw few people. The house was clean and the kitchen had many, many things! Also, I've stayed at many VRBOs and things like dirty potholders gross me out. There was nothing like that here! Everything in the kitchen was clean and ready to use! I also loved all the hooks! VRBOs rarely have hooks and it's so nice to be able to hang up damp hiking gear, etc. Just 2 suggestions: 1. Figure out the musty smell in the downstairs hall/bedroom. It was really the only thing that might keep us from staying there again....and we probably would stay anyway since none of us have allergies. 2. Is there a way to allow guests to turn on/off the hot tub filter jets? While we enjoyed it and loved that it was super clean, I would have loved to be able to listen to the woods/creek nearby more often, but the hot tub was on a timer and the noise drowned out the forest sounds. But, overall, we would recommend this place and stay there again.

Nice, quiet location. Very peaceful, needs upkeep

We enjoyed our stay at Foxwood, it was quiet and secluded and we loved being in the trees, but the property itself could use some maintenance. There were a lot of downed big limbs on the property, and the outside could have used some attention. Of 2 coffee pots, only one halfway worked. The deadbolt on the front door was the only lock that worked, the upstairs shower door kept coming off track, the upstairs bathroom door from the bedroom with the bunkbeds was not able to close properly, and one of the door's handles leading to the deck was broken. There was also a resident Mr. Jingles who came out each evening to entertain. The cabin also had 8 can openers but not one wooden spoon. Just very odd eclectic kitchen items, as most vacation cabins have. I also was just a little creeped out by all the foxes displayed, a bit overkill. If attention was shown to the place, it would have been lovely. As it was, i was a bit irritated that no partial refund was offered . Would stay in the area again, but not that particular cabin.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The layout of the cabin is very nice. We planned to let the kids stay upstairs to have more privacy in the first floor bedroom. The mattress is very uncomfortable in that room and you can feel almost every spring. The bedding was nice and there was plenty extra. We ended up sleeping in the king size bed and that bed was nice. The tv in the second upstairs room did not work and the tv in the king had limited options, but that only matters if you're stuck in the cabin. It's in a beautiful setting, which we loved. We had some issues with the hot tub our first night, but someone came out and fixed it right away the next morning. The woodstove was great, especially after the hot tub. Also, the instructions about the separate hot tub towels was confusing. The bin outside has cushions in it and the linen closet upstairs was a hot mess so hopefully we used the right towels. This isn't a modern cabin, but it is definitely efficient and affordable. The price made a last minute family vacation possible. I would return again.

Great cabin at Canaan!

We got snowed in with 24 inches of snow but we enjoyed our weekend here. Some minimal upgrades to the cabin would be great but overall a nice home!
