Works Wonders is an aptly named beach front cottage that does just that to our soul every time that we stay. The home was built by Bob Soto (the father of modern scuba diving in the Caribbean) and was the family home for years. It was built to last and was a survivor of Ivan in 2004 when many were not left standing. Although restored to itā€™s previous glory over the years, we spent the first potion of our ownership adding a few amenities and modern touches during our stays. We hope that you enjoy your visit and feel free to contact us with feedback.
We refer to the home as a ā€œcottageā€ because it has that seriously Caribbean island vibe. The secluded location with what feels like a totally private beach (although all beaches on Cayman are considered public), but at 3100 square feet, it comfortably sleeps 10 with very quiet and private quarters. The exposed wooden beam construction along with the traditional Caribbean color scheme really sets the tone for a relaxed week away from your normal routine. You may end up never leaving the peaceful and tranquil view from the home of the sound....
But, when you choose to venture out, you will not have to go very far to enjoy all the Grand Cayman has to offer. The central location of Works Wonders provides ready access to Rum Point, where the mudslides are a must; to Georgetown and Camana Bay districts, where you will find wonderful experiences for both shopping and dining (Cayman is know as the culinary capital of the Caribbean); and of course scuba and snorkeling that rivals the best in the world. And speaking of the best, 7 Mile Beach, annually voted one of the top 3 beaches in the world is just a 30 minute drive way.
The list goes on and on. From salt caves to the blue iguana preserve to swimming with the turtles at Spotts Beach, Cayman has something for everyone. But then again, with some of the best bone fishing in the world just outside our back door in Frankā€™s Sound, and the newly constructed pool right on the beach, Works Wonders just may keep you occupied right there at home.

The place was great - well stocked with everything we needed. The company handling logistics was really responsive and accommodating. The water itself wasn't super great for kids going into the water from the house - it was kind of mucky but a little ways down would be a good entry point and it's within walking distance of a public beach. We used the kayaks and paddle boards provided and it was great! I even saw a sea turtle! The pool was great too!

Very comfortable stay for my family, 6 adults and 2 teenagers. Located on the south side of Grand Cayman in the middle of the island, so away from most other tourist. Fantastic view from the pool deck where you can watch the sunrise and sunset every day.

We stayed at Works Wonders for our annual girlsā€™ trip and it was the perfect home for us. It was clean, comfortable, and right on the beach. The patio was the perfect spot for morning coffee and the pool refreshing. Thereā€™s even an outside shower to rinse the sand off. It was a home, not a house, with thoughtful touches like beach chairs, floaties, bug spray, chip clips; whatever we needed was available. The rental agency made everything super easy. Would definitely stay there again.

Nothing short of AMAZING!

From the moment you walk in the door of Works Wonders, all of your stress will drift away. Itā€™s spacious, yet cozy with beautiful views and amenities a plenty. The pool was a great way to relax and stay cool while hanging out at the house. Being on the south side of the island, we were able to escape the hustle and bustle of Seven Mile Beach and relax in the quiet peacefulness of the island. The owners, Chris and Lori were extremely responsive and very gracious answering all of our pre-trip questions. Betty Ann, our on-island contact, was also very responsive to additional needs and questions. Our only regret is that we didnā€™t stay longer!!

March getaway

Had a most relaxing time in a spacious well equipped property.Quiet location with minimal road noise. Own pool and use of paddleboards, kayaks was great,Perfect location to explore the lesser known attractions of the Island away from the crowds and traffic associated with George Town.Points to note are chickens run freely over the property as they do throughout the Island and the sand from the shoreline has eroded leaving a sinking area when you first enter the water. A small trade off considering it's a perfect home from home vacation.

Did not want to leave

We had a group of 7 that stayed for 5 nights. The property is a bit away from the main tourist areas and that was exactly what we were looking for. The kayaks and paddle boards were used daily! You have your own little beach and the water was not above shoulder depth for a good 1/4 mile out so I felt comfortable letting the kids go on their own. The water was crystal clear. The home was comfortable with all of the amenities one needs. We plan on coming back to this place next year. Our contacts were very quick to respond to any questions or needs. Close to restaurants and grocery stores (Fosters was the best for selection and prices). Literally won't stay anywhere else!!

We spent a week in Works Wonders. Simply put we could not have asked for anything more. Spacious, tasteful, good beds, wonderful AC, lots of room for the 8 of us, a lovely Pool, lounge chairs, high top bar set up for snacks outside, kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling equipment, life jackets, beach chairs! The East End is the place to stay so you can get a feel for the island as it should be and still is away from the madding crowd!

It's difficult to put into words the joy, peace, and relaxation we experienced at Wonder Works. Our group of seven, ranging in age from 37 to 73, found something to love at every turn. The well-equipped kitchen, modern bathrooms, and comfortable beds made our stay effortless, with plenty of space for everyone to unwind. The pool was a refreshing retreat, and the free-roaming chickens provided unexpected entertainment. But above all, it was the breathtaking beauty of the place that truly captured our hearts. Grand Cayman is a lovely island with little poverty. The island is surrounded by a barrier reef so the water is gentle. There are so many fun things to do. Our hosts were great and was the management company. We had no issues at all so did not need them. They had communicated beautifully in advance. Highly recommend this home. It is far enough away from everything, but close enough too. We enjoyed Sting Ray City out of RumPoint and the wonderful eBike tour of the island. Many in the group are begging for this location for next year's defrosting trip.

Exceptional House!

Works Wonders is a truly marvelous house-- it is even nicer than its photographs! Extremely comfortable, well-furnished, well-stocked with kitchen equipment (with well-labeled cabinets and drawers), comfortable beds and couches. Beautiful beach with plenty of outside furniture. Spotless when we arrived. Property manager answered our few questions in minutes. Cannot recommend this property more highly!

Fantastic peaceful beach house

We absolutely loved our stay. The house was comfortable and clean, great for multiple couples. The private quiet beach was exactly what we were looking for, away from the hustle and bustle of the west side of the island, but close enough to access everything on the island. The water and views were gorgeous. The pool was perfect for cooling off. The kitchen was well equipped (other than maybe needing another pan or 2), but it had oil, spices, coffee, filters. Communication with the host was great and they offered several great recommendations for food, etc. We would definitely stay here again!

Paradise Found!

We had an amazing time at Works Wonders. Secluded area on Cayman that was a paradise. House rolls into screened porch rolls into pool deck rolls into beach and then the ocean right there. The ocean can only be about 50 feet from the house. Amazing. The four bedrooms and the baths have us plenty of room. Communication was great. We also appreciated that, sure to an emergency, we had to push out trip back by a day. Given that the house was not rented after our stay the hosts generously to allowed us to push the whole trip back a day. Highly recommend and hope we have the chance to come back.

Holiday Family Vacation

The house was wonderful. We had a great time! Morning coffee on the patio was one of my favorite parts of the day. The Children loved the pool, sandy beach & taking the kayak out for an ocean adventure. The management group was quick to respond to any questions.

Perfect extended family vacation

This property is away from the busy touristy part of the island. It is beautiful. The house is perfect for big groups. We had an extended family vacation. The one thing that would make this property perfect, which I know the owners canā€™t do anything about, is entry to the ā€œbeach/oceanā€ right in front of the house. The owners provide an excellent solution with the paddle boards and kayaks to make it out to a part that you donā€™t sink when you stand up though. We found plenty of other beaches close by that did allow that beach entry to the water. Favorite one just a few miles down the road was colliers beach. Over close to the over crowded seven mile beach was cemetery beach that was perfect and not at all crowded. The customer service / hospitality we received from the owners and the rental management team was truly the best Iā€™ve ever experienced. This was a perfect vacation.

Incredible stay!

The house was beautiful, and everything was in working order. The property managers were very responsive. The only problem was that they never emailed me the lock box code and Wi-Fi password before check in. That has never happened to me before, so I didn't realize until we were minutes away from the house. Thankfully, they responded quickly because we had a car full of perishable groceries! The beds were comfortable, and the pool was clean. The kayaks and paddleboards were great! There were some jellyfish in the water so make sure you're careful if you're swimming or wading through. They even left shampoo, conditioner, soap, tp, life jackets, sand toys, and extra blankets. This house was just great!

Relaxing Getaway

We had an amazing stay in this beautiful home. It had plenty of space, all the comforts of home, and was our own private, peaceful, and relaxing getaway. The A/C was great, beds were comfortable, and the home was very clean! Our family enjoyed being outside in the pool, paddleboarding, kayaking, and watching all the sweet roosters run around. We had a wonderful time!

Fit our needs perfectly

This property was so peaceful, away from the traffic of Georgetown and central to almost everything. Everyone in my family had their own bedroom and space. The well equipped kitchen allowed us to cook most of our meals in. And of course the kids loved the pool! The kayaks and paddle boards were used a lot since the beach was not good for wading, but sitting on the deck with my family listening to the waves did wonders for my soul.

The property was a a well-maintained and cozy home that offers a comfortable living space for vacationers. It was a quiet and peaceful retreat, where we could focus on relaxation and self-care while the children also had plenty to keep themselves happy between the pool, games, puzzles , kayak, paddle board and tv. After years visiting the Caribbean Islands and West Indies, and with many trips to Grand Cayman under our belts, we decided that Cayman was definitely the place to be. Safe, clean, fearless drinking water, the best food, the friendliest people (without the' in our face' store proprietors), and soooo blue waters and pristine beaches. We looked at many chrome and glass monuments before deciding on this home in the secluded Franks Sound. If you appreciate the Caribbean vibe like we do, this place will work wonders on whatever ails you....

This is the original home of Bob and Suzy Soto, and certainly a 'one of a kind' Cayman cottage. These Caymanian legends helped develop Grand Cayman into the gem that it has become, having been incredible entrepreneurs and having founded modern scuba diving.
