Bask in the sweet simplicity of coastal living at this Gulf Shores home, a family-friendly Alabama retreat with a multi-level deck, angled views of the beach, steps away to the sparkling Gulf of Mexico, and community access to swimming pools, a hot tub, a fitness room, and much more!

This 1,355-square-foot home occupies one side of a duplex in the Plantation Cottages at Gulf Shores Plantation, a renowned beachfront community on the Fort Morgan Peninsula (the other side of the duplex, Plantation Place #H408B, can be rented as well; the entire duplex can be rented as Plantation Place #H408). You and your loved ones will be an easy walk from multiple outdoor pools, a hot tub, a boardwalk to the white sand beach, the Kiva Dunes Golf Course, and a quick drive from Gulf State Park and the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

The Cottage was amazing! Very spacious, and perfect for the amount of people that were there, would recommend if you have 4 to 6 people like couples or anything. A very clean and quiet area.

Nice place

Great location hot tub was wonderful met someone from Canada enjoyed chatting with him. Plenty of room need some new frying pans garbage disposal didn’t work but no big deal. Enjoy relaxing and just chilling.Will return in the future.

Easy Way to Vacation

This place was very clean and just a short walk to the beach. Make sure you bring a wagon to carry everything. Lots of steps. Great outdoor area. No grill with the beach house but there is one by the pools you can use. Hot tub and pools are very close. We would definitely rent again. There is a bar and grill on the grounds that has great food too.

Great location for families

We really enjoyed our stay. The outside of the duplex was still under construction but the inside was great. Lots of space, views of the ocean, and a very comfortable couch. Some have complained of the bed comfort, but our family found them very adequate. Something not mentioned in the info is the access to water and a hose at the duplex. This made cleaning up beach toys and shoes super easy. The access to the beach and the pools were great. This house worked great for our family of 3 teenage boys, a 12-year-old daughter, and a 4-year-old. We would stay here again.

No indoor amenities or customer service

We love Gulf Shores Plantation and have been several times. We choose it because of the indoor amenities since we travel in March and the weather is iffy. Upon arrival we realized our key card did not work so there was no access to the indoor pool, sauna, gym, etc. We reached out six times via text/phone calls and were told each time that access was being restored and that the local team would contact us. That never happened. We will never use Vacasa again.

Truly disappointed

10 digits to unlock the door was a real hassle. We had to input the code multiple times to gain entry almost every time. No cable on the downstairs tv but the cable was working on two of the tv’s upstairs. The third tv upstairs the remote wouldn’t work even with new batteries so you couldn’t use that tv. There was no access to the indoor pool apparently the owners didn’t pay for that. First night there a big palmetto bug scurried across the kitchen floor and Vacasa said that they wouldn’t authorize an exterminator. We did get a credit from Vacasa but that doesn’t make up for the attitude that we got from the Vacasa personnel when you could understand their broken English. A trip to the local Vacasa office in Gulf Shores didn’t help. They sent a tech out for the cable but he couldn’t solve the issue. We had to obtain a streaming device to watch the Super Bowl. We were glad to get home.

Lots of amenities, great beach access

Pictures for the unit need updated, especially the virtual tour. Actual bedding arrangements were: futon on 3rd floor (accessed through main bedroom), main BR with King bed, end of hall BR with I believe Queen bed & hall BR with Full bed. No bunks as pictured in virtual tour. Mattresses were really comfortable. We bought blow up mattresses at Walmart & made the rest of the sleeping arrangements work for our teenagers. There was only one bath towel in the whole house at check-in, but management brought more when brought to their attention. The stairs (and there are lots) were pretty steep and narrow, so should be taken into consideration for elderly or disabled guests. My parents had a little difficulty going up & down. Our amenities card never worked for the indoor pool. However, the gated access to the outdoor pools and hot tub area is directly across from the unit and was really convenient, as was the boardwalk to the beach. The AC was fantastic! The WiFi worked well but our cell service (Verizon) was very spotty. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and had a nice family vacation here with room to cook for and host our employees at dinner. We also booked 5 condos at Plantation East for our employees and the proximity to our beach house was wonderful!

Lovely, roomy house

Close to the beach, nice porch and upper deck with view of ocean. Plenty of room for our family. Roomy kitchen and dining area. Comfortable beds. Clean and spacious. We had a great stay!

Great Location

We loved that the Plantation 408B was located close to the beach. The grand babies had a fun time at the pool as well. Renovations were being completed on the outside and windows were covered. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Great house. Read description of available beds.

Had a great vacation with this place. Close to the beach and pools with a huge deck to relax on. Do not use the pictures for planning on how many beds there are. Read the description. There are no bunk beds and there is no bed in the loft.

Short walk to beach and next to pools!!

We loved our stay at #H208. The home was the perfect distance to the beach and is directly across from hot tub and pool amenities. We were impressed by the beautiful beaches and hope to stay here again next year!

Plantation Cottage #H408B Gulf Shores, AL

This was a great location, but not at all family friendly. The beds had the most uncomfortable mattresses I have ever tried to sleep on. A simple 3 to 4 inch memory foam mattress topper would fix this issue. Also, if there was a stopper for the bath tubs, we could not find them. Our 1 and 5 year olds needed baths, not showers. Other than these 2 major issues, everything else was great.

The perfect getaway for our family!

We loved how spacious the house was. The decks allowed for peaceful outdoor seating. The close location to the beach made getting our 2 yr old to the sand very easy. Can’t wait to visit again!

Great Location, Adequate House

We enjoyed our stay at #H408B! Loved the proximity to the beach, the amenities, the ample space in the house, and the beautiful decks! However, a little TLC could make this a 5 star rental. The beds are not all that comfortable, the shower curtain in one of the bathrooms was filthy, the bunk bed was rickety, and some of the furniture has clearly seen better days. We got off to a rocky start with our entry code and the WiFi not working, but Vacasa was very helpful and made things right as quickly as they could. Overall I would say this place is nice enough for this price point, but it would need a few touch ups for me to want to stay there again.
