Please read the reviews, we work hard for those. This home is walking distance from Pisgah National Forest in Big Ivy Country. Surrounded by mountains, this valley does not disappoint. Come enjoy the beautiful views and the local horses, cows, goats, ducks and chickens. Sip coffee on the spacious front porch, paddle around the pond, or enjoy a yard game on the three spacious acres. At night, listen to the sounds of crickets and bullfrogs as you roast marshmallows by the fire. Star gazing is a must!!! The property has a small pond that is fed by a fresh water spring. Whether you feel like floating under the sun, paddling a kayak or taking a dip, come down to the dock and have a blast. If you would like to get out and about, there are many attractions just a short drive away. Zipline through the tree tops at Navitat Canopy Adventures (less than 10 miles away), enjoy a night out on the town in Downtown Asheville (19 miles away), or visit the famous Biltmore house(17 miles) in South Asheville. Whether you are looking for a restful weekend with family or a fun filled weekend with friends, this is the place for you! Our reviews say it best. Available for reunions and small gatherings. We understood the house was pretty basic. The property and location was lovely although took a bit of a beating from Helene. The area around the cabin was beautiful with a pretty horse paddock/farm just down the driveway. The trailhead at Big Ivy was closed but we found other amazing places to explore nearby. We climbed Big Butt trail (a high elevation trail in Pisgah national Forest), visited Bailey Mountain Preserve in Mars Hill, Rich Mountain Firetower (tough hike but soooo worth it!). We plan on returning to this cute sleepy mountain town again.

Quick Long Weekend visit

We had a last-minute trip and it was wonderful. The property was exactly as stated, and our host was responsive and kind. Would definitely stay there again. Our daughter loved the pond. We enjoyed the board games and just sitting on the porch.

Peace and comfort

We had such an amazing two weeks at Jami's place, lounging in the hammock, watching the lightning bugs, and eating many a dinner al fresco. Our cat enjoyed watching the chickens and other cats on the property stopped by to say hello. The house was so well equipped, we wanted for nothing. Overall one of the dreamiest escapes to the woods we've ever had :)

Just fell in love

I rented this beautiful home for my parents 50th wedding anniversary to share with my children and their great grandchildren. Every day I heard how they just fell more in love with the magic of this home. So grateful to the host family for their kindness and for sharing their magic on earth with us!!!

Great location for a BFF getaway

Fantastic, Peaceful and Brilliant getaway!

We were in the area visiting land we recently purchased and could not have chosen a better place to experience the true beauty of Western North Carolina. The area is tranquil , the house was absolutely cozy as can be , and the owner could not have been more accommodating. 10/10!

Wonderful weekend get away

We had a wonderful time and felt very welcomed and well cared for. It was great to be able to walk to beautiful hiking. The porch was a highlight, watching the animals, so quiet and private. We got to feed the goats (thank you for that!). It was a quick trip to Weaverville and Asheville for yummy meals. And having toys and movies stocked was a bonus! Our little girls enjoyed hitting the baseball and were introduced to Cinderella. Thank you for a fun and memorable long weekend!

We had a great time staying on the farm, our hosts were absolutely incredible and went above and beyond for us. One of the best memories from our visit was sitting out ion the front porch as a thunderstorm rolled in… magical 🙌 I highly recommend staying here.

Mountain farmhouse escape

Quaint older farmhouse nestled against the national forest and mountains was a nice get away. We were looking for a quiet weekend escape and it delivered. Located near end of road amongst farms so not a lot of traffic. Kids loved the animals and around the fire pit. Had just what we needed to explore the forest and hike the mountains. Owners were super responsive and communicative. Farm fresh eggs in fridge when we arrived were awesome! Note: previous reviews were concerned about well water smell - owners provided a Brita pitcher and took that sulfur hard water aroma away. Don't be concerned.

Back to Nature

Husband, Golden Retriever and I road tripped it from Miami FL to experience the natural beauty and country hospitality of North Carolina. We were not disappointed. The property is blissfully secluded in a beautiful valley surrounded by farms. When we wanted a taste of “town” it was between 20 minutes to 40 minutes to drive go neighboring Weaverville, Asheville, Black Mountain, etc. All the hiking or scenic driving a person could want are close by. The house had all the comforts of home and we were in heaven. Our Golden also loved it though we had to keep a close eye on him to make sure the free roaming chickens stayed safe. Jami and Rachel’s friendliness and care helped make our experience. They were on hand at a moments notice if we needed anything or had any questions. We can’t wait to come back.

Great amenities and comfy beds

This is a sweet place. We have stayed at MANY VRBO's where you can easily tell the ones that are just forgotten about verse the ones that are cared for. These nice owners had thought about everything! There were games, toys, supplies, and a stocked kitchen. We highly recommend for kids as well

Fabulous Vacation

Our family throughly enjoyed our vacation! The house was a great place to call Home for several days. Close to trails, waterfalls, Asheville, Weaverville to name a few. The cabin was clean and the owners super nice. They thought of everything to make sure our stay was great! Thank you Jami & Rachel!

Thanksgiving family gathering

Jami and Rachel’s properties were perfect for our family. We rented both cabins. Jami was extremely helpful making sure we had everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare Thanksgiving dinner. The weather cooperated to allow us to enjoy the front porch, hammock in the sun and the fun swing while enjoying the peaceful views. The highlight for our granddaughter was helping Jami feed the chickens and goats. She even got to collect eggs from the chicken coop to have for breakfast! Thank you so much for your kind hospitality and sweet accommodations!

Beautiful experience in a beautiful location

What an amazing stay we had. I don’t just mean our trip, but Rachel and Jami have a beautiful place set up with all the comforts of home. The communication was great. The beds were comfortable. The property was BEAUTIFUL. My wife and kids loved it so much. Thank you!

Wonderful place to take a young family

Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jami and Rachel's place - it met or exceeded our expectations in every area. Some of the little things we enjoyed: thoroughly cleaned house, comfortable beds, lots of interesting books and games. The bigger things we really liked: the goats and the kayaks. Jami and Rachel were very kind in letting us visit with, pet, and feed the goats. Our kids were even able to hold the baby goats! We also meandered around the small pond for a couple hours on the kayaks which were readily available. Throughout our visit Jami was very communicative and helpful. We highly recommend considering this VRBO, and hope to return ourselves!

Jami and Rachel’s Farm

Their home is very peaceful and calming. It’s out of the way but only 11miles to everything that we needed. We especially loved sitting on the front porch listening to all of the farm animals around the little farms in the area. Jami and Rachel are very helpful and kind to their guests. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful property

Beautiful home and property. We loved the location- Asheville is a 25 minute drive from the house. Our son loved the pond and playing outside. Jamie was awesome- she brought us fresh eggs and let us hold the baby goats! We would definitely recommend this place and hope to stay again.

Great return stay

My 11yo and I were able to make a return trip to Jami and Rachel's place this summer and brought my parents along. We enjoyed the pond and the farm just as much as the first time! And Jami and Rachel are wonderful hosts - easy communication, ensuring we had everything we needed. The place is very clean, has a well stocked kitchen with pots, pans, etc., and we love sitting out on the porch. Highly recommend. I am sure we will be back again.

Awesome!

Beautiful location, the hosts were so helpful and responsive. My daughters loved the swing outside and I loved the awesome porch and wall of books inside. Such a variety of books games and movies much appreciated.
