Welcome to Sparrow Cove!

Make this charming cabin yours for your next lakeside vacation! With its cozy interior and wonderful location, this home would be perfect for your next weekend getaway. With plenty of launch points, don't forget to bring your boat or watercraft. Located right in the heart of downtown Shaver Lake, you'll be conveniently situated between Dorabella Cove and shops/restaurants. The home is only a couple miles from Camp Edison Day Use Beach and Shaver Lake Marina. You'll also be walking distance from the main stretch of town with cafes, markets, coffee, pizza, and a lake sporting goods store.

Things To Know
Check-in time: 4:00 p.m.
Check-out time: 10:00 a.m.
All guests shall abide by Vacasa’s good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises.
Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
This home does not have AC.
The fireplace is not available for guest use.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Great Place to Stay

This is our second time staying in this cabin. Very comfortable, clean, and close to town. We will be back!

Nice Family Cabin

My family loved this cabin! Some areas that could be improved: There was NO coffee pot. We searched everywhere and although there was a coffee maker, there was no coffee pot. This was disappointing as the picture showed a coffee pot. The master bed was very comfortable. However the loft beds for the kids did not have very comfortable mattresses. The drier lint remover metal was broken and very scratchy when trying to remove lint. Needs to be replaced. The VHS machine was broken and ate the tapes we put it. The TV did not give us any channels. My family was still happy for our 4 night stay, but these are some things that could be improved. We loved the shampoo and soap in the showers. Checking out at 10 am was extremely early and difficult, and we were not granted a little later check out. 11 am would be much better. Considering there was no coffee pot and I reached out to the property manager, I think we should have been granted something nice like a 11 am check out.

Mediocre stay in Shaver

Our family stayed 4 nights in the cabin. Overall cleanliness of the cabin is lacking. It is a stretch to say it sleeps 8. Two of the beds were broken and several of the pillows have no pillow cases. There were very few blankets on the beds if you come in winter. The kitchen is decently supplied however there no additional trash bags left for us. Location is good.

Good location but cabin could be better

Stayed here for a friend weekend and overall it was a nice stay. The location is good but definitely bring stuff to sleep on and entertain yourselves. The loft beds were hard as rocks and the master bed was just as uncomfortable. We tried using the TV to stream and we couldn't get it to stop buffering. Ended up mirroring my phone to watch something because the VCR ate the VHS we tried watching. The provided games were missing things so couldn't really play games. It was a nice place to stay and I will just bring extra stuff if I decide to stay there again.

Cute cabin but needs more of a "Welcome" feeling

My family & I had a great time, but it needs more work on "Welcoming" your guest. The home owners/Vacasa company needs to work on. 1. Entering the home: Entering the code to get into the home was good, but it would've been nice to have the code (Master lock) to get the spare key to use to unlock the door so I didn't have to keep putting the 10 digit code in every time we came back to the house. 2. Master Room: Walking into the master bedroom, the bed WAS NOT made. There were like 6 pillows and 2 of them only had pillow sheets. The blankets look like it was just thrown on the bed with the pillows as if the housekeeper never went into the room to clean it. Linens were in the dry.Very upsetting. 3.Guest Bathroom: when walking into the home, the guest bathroom was LOCKED!! Why? I don't know. Luckily we were able to find a nail to poke threw the knob to open it. 4. Wifi: We tried using the information that was provided from Vacasa and it DID NOT connect. I reached out to the company and apparently the HOME OWNER did not communicate with them to tell them they got a new modem to get the new network name and password. 5. Outside Grill: When getting ready to cook dinner, the outside grill WAS NOT cleaned nor was there any gas in the propane tank for us to use to cook. Again LUCKILY we had to brought our own propane tank. Me personally, if you are going to provide a gas grill you should provide a FULL propane tank. 6. A lot of animal "droppings" in the drawer in guest room

Perfect cabin getaway!

Awesome cabin!! We were planning to go camping, but our reservations were canceled last minute, so we booked this cabin in order to still get some time at Shaver and I have never been so happy to have plans changed!! We loved staying here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet retreat to the mountains! Close to the lake, close to town, and very nice accommodations. The cabin was super clean, there were ample amounts of fresh towels in the bathrooms and kitchen and there were many details that added to the experience. There was even a rack for individual soaps and a fresh sponge in the kitchen. The bathrooms have full sets of soap dispensers in each shower which was a perk and always appreciated. I will definitely keep this place in mind for future trips!

Great stay at Sparrow Cove

Nice place but not ADA friendly

While the cabin is a lovely place, we have an elderly family member and a blind family member, the path from the driveway into the house is very muddy right now making it uneven, and the walkway is cracked and uneven leading up to the stairs. So while this house was a nice place to stay, it is not recommended if anyone in your party requires ADA accessibility.

Not perfect, but still good.

Overlooked muddy driveway where we almost got stuck and nail clippings on couch, but dead bugs all around master bedroom caused me to report it to Vacasa. It was late and no bugs in bed so declined cleaning that night. Got text saying someone would contact me for resolution but that didnt happen. If they had, I probably wouldn't have written this review. Having said all this, it was still a pleasant stay.

Family vacation

Absolutely loved how large this home was, had a lot of unique touches from the decor to the things available to do such as bbq, board games, beautiful wrap around porch, and full size beautiful kitchen to cook in and seat. However home was a little bit dusty in hard to reach places but being asthmatic I could feel it and allergies were kicking in, the propane on bbq was near empty, staff replaced right away however the front door knob kept sticking and maintenance never repaired during our stay we had to use side door. Other than that we absolutely loved our stay the home definitely accommodated our large family, Thankyou

Loved our stay!

The cabin was delightful, nicely furnished with cabin decor. It was a perfect chioce for a vacation with our 6 teenage grandchildren. The kitchen was nicely stocked with dishes and cookware, although there was not a pan large enough to boil water to cook pasta for 8. Had to use 2 small sauce pans and make 4 batches of noodles. We had three types of pasta on our menu. The other cookware was a nice set, just looked like the pan was missing. Just a suggestion to replace the missing pot. I had to contact the Vacasa staff and all were very helpful. Especially Beatrice in Florida.

Sparrow house

The house was very clean. We did not have any directions for getting the tv to work. Directions for using the box or cable system would be wonderful to have. Also new mattresses would be wonderful. Our friends stayed up in the loft and could not sleep on those beds. One of them slept in the downstairs bedroom the second night and said that mattress was also very poor.

Fantastic Family time

We had a wonderful time. The house is very nicely stocked with everything you need. It is a very comfortable cabin. The only thing I would say is to leave directions for the TV. We were never able to get to it or the volume to work. I am sure it was just user error on our part.

Shaver cabin

The inside of the cabin was very nice and cozy but the upstairs beds were very hard and uncomfortable. The outside of the house was a little rough. The deck was nice but needs to be sanded and restained. It was Weathered pretty bad. Overall we had a good experience the house exterior just needs to be worked on.

Horrible experience

This has by far the most horrific place we have used.. Arrived at 4 pm.. the email that early check in was an option was only given at 9am and we lived4 hrs away so at that point it was too late to change plans.. First night was ok until 3 am when giant ants with wings started dropping or flying down from the ceiling of the masters bedroom .. one or two were ok but they came by the hundreds and by 5 am we had to transfer to living room and declare that room uninhabitable.. tried going in again the next day and it seems like every night is the same thing. The other rooms had none but now we had to buy a blow up beds so we could displace the younger kids to the livingroom. I even took a video of the insects just in case u don’t believe us.. By last night we contemplated on driving back early because of the sleeping arrangement but everyone was tired. This is the first time i have used this site and unfortunately, it definitely was not a pleasant experience for us.. we travel about 3-4x a year and look forward to our mini vacation as a family .. this has been a really unpleasant stay altogether .

Nice for a short visit

Beautiful mountain surroundings. Living room comfortable - needed another cozy chair for our group. Kitchen had all the necessary appliances. Space accurately described. Beds really need updating: The futons are hard as a rock.; Trundle very squeaky.; Queen bed sinks in the middle. Family with us in from Texas - we loved being all together in this beautiful mountain town!

Nice Cabin

Nice sized living room for our group to gather . We could have used one more comfy couch/chair but we made due with a kitchen chair. Close walk to town - 7 minutes in the snow! Beds need updating - poor night of seep for every member of our group.
