Fun, clean and comfortable with new appliances, lots of windows and great views! Living room and game room provides indoor fun, outdoor activities include cornhole and horseshoes. 2.5 acre lot, rolling terrain, treed and open areas with gentle rock outcroppings, kids love it. Easily accessible to roads and Red Feather Lakes Village, where there are three grocery stores, two liquor stores, four nearby restaurants, library, Ace Hardware, post office and fabulous 18 hole golf course. There is snow tube sledding with a lift and nearby horseback trail rides (in season). Numerous hiking trails and lakes for fishing are minutes away. Certification 22-ZONE3247.

It was everything we anticipated! Dan was extremely responsive to questions about the area for recreation. The setting in the morning and evening was breathtaking not to mention the fresh down there! A big thumbs up for this property!

Better Than Pictures Show!

Our family (myself, husband, 17, 12, 12) stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. We normally would hardly have been around because we would be out fishing, hiking, riding, etc. But the whole weekend ended up foggy and rainy and cool. What a blessing we were at this house! The pictures do not do this home justice. We expected a bit of a funky, older house. While the home is older, the bones are solid and the owner has done a lovely job of making it comfortable and pleasant. The updates are high end, the furniture is very high quality, and there is a fun, eclectic sort of mid-century modern theme. The views are incredible. The property's 2 acres shelter you from seeing neighboring houses, and the mountain views from the living room are beautiful. I filled the hummingbird feeders and we were graced with the presence of hundreds of the tiny, feisty little birds, right outside the windows. The kids stayed busy, off screens, for hours and hours. While there is reliable, high speed internet, there was so much else for them to do! They explored the property and played laser-tag day and night. They played foosball , mini-pool, pinball and more from the game room. They sat at the expandable dining room table and drew. We cozied up in the living room with the fireplace crackling and played board games as a family. There's direct-TV, but we never used more than the music channels.The owners have provided everything you could possibly need, and make you feel like a guest, not a custome

Red Feather Weekend

Over all we had a very peaceful stay in Red Feathers. The area is peaceful and fun. We had wonderful walks, Rock climbing with kids and beautiful views. The wood burning stove was wonderful since the weather was a little cooler then expected. The Cabin is full of a lot of items which made it a little hard to keep track of our stuff from theirs. The beds were not very comfortable and one very high and hard to get in to. Lots of games and fun for our grandchild inside but the stairs are very narrow and the outside stairs became extremely slippery with ice. At one point ice was sliding off of the roof and almost landed on my grand daughter which really scared her. We will probably not stay there again but I will say it is a beautiful setting and very peaceful.

Lovely Stay over Thanksgiving

If you want peace and quiet, this is the place. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Also lots of stars were visible. We spent thanksgiving there and the kitchen had everything to cook the complete meal. We enjoyed the many board games too. All the beds very comfy too! Highly recommend!

Cabin getaway

We really enjoyed our stay. The property is a little dated but still had all the basic necessities. The beds were comfy and warm. The views are gorgeous and it’s so peaceful. We had fun playing old games and being outdoors. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Great getaway

Loved the location and proximity to Dowdy Lake. We rented a kayak and paddleboards for the day from RC Rentals (recommended in the binder) and worked out great! Enjoyed our stay, lots of games and fun in the basement as well for kids.

Lovely property

It was so quiet! Sitting out on the deck you didn't hear anything but the wind in the trees and the hummingbirds. The property has lots of boulders to climb on and around, and it was fun just exploring the land the house sat on. Dan was a great host. We had lunch at the Potbelly Restaurant one day and the local people were friendly and the food was delicious.

Great stay

Amazing views and quiet location! The only thing I would change is that the house was very hot and stuffy when we checked in. Pillow cases smelled less than fresh.

Good house in private location. Well provisioned and great kitchen tools. Would have liked to have wi fi but it didn’t arrive until we were leaving town. Dan was helpful when we had questions.

Always perfect

The house is always so clean and tidy. We have a lot of kids (7) and there is room for everyone to relax and enjoy time together. We love the location as it has great little hills for the kiddos to sled down. And so many things to do indoors as well. This is our favorite winter getaway.

Like staying at your Uncles mountain home!

For our group it was perfect, loved the vintage pinball. Tons of movies very nice big screen satellite TV. Just felt at home here. Well stocked in case you forget something. Also beautiful mountain views.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

This place is great for a family looking to get away! The property owners have thought of it all and make it easy for you to enjoy the stay. Accommodations were just as advertised and if you have questions the response was very quick. The location is secluded and so peaceful. There is so much to do in the area as well. We will definitely be back!

Red Feather Lakes

Our stay was very enjoyable. The home had all the comforts of home and really just about everything you would need was in the house. We primarily picked this location due to the seclusion it offered. Though there are many other houses in that neighborhood, you don’t know that there are any neighbors because of the trees and the quietness of the neighborhood. It really is a neighborhood in the forest. The bed was extremely comfortable! The home is certainly big enough for a large family to stay. It was a very good experience and we enjoyed our time there. Even though we we’re staying in the mountains in September, we did not expect to get snow while we were there. LOL there were two nights that we drove to the home with snow falling and woke up the next morning to an accumulation of snow that quickly melted away with the sun. I think we literally experienced all four seasons during our stay. 😁 We loved it though!

Great House in a great location!

This property is amazing! In a semi-private area, but feels secluded. We spent lots of time on trails, hikes and a few lakes in the area! Dan was easy to contact with questions and responded quickly. He went out of his way to make sure we had a stock pot and casserole dish when we were there!

great stay in northern colorado mountains

We stayed here for 5 nights. It was a great get away. We were greeted by Mandy the property manager as soon as we arrived. The house was well stocked and clean. The kids enjoyed the pinball machine and fooseball table. The kithen/ living room was comfortable. We enjoyed watching the olympic trials which were being aired during our stay. Dan had recommendations for fishing that were excellent. My son and I spent the afternoon there and must have caught 10 trout fly fishing. Only a few recommendations to make the say better. First -- internet -- the listing says to use your smart phone as a wifi hot spot. The 4G LTE availability is not very usable. We had issues streaming pod casts to our cell phones. It was not a huge issue for us but worth noting if you were on a working vacation, this would not suffice. Second -- this property is an open range area. We brought our dogs with us. The first morning we were greeted by a small herd of cattle wandering through the property. We had to scramble to keep the dogs from running out to them. It would not have stopped us from going here but a heads up would have been nice. Third -- The propane ran out while we were BBQing. This was probably the only thing that soured the trip. I was in the middle of cooking 4 steaks. Half way through cooking I noticed the temperature had dropped on the grill. I checked the burners and the flames had gone out. I had to quickly move them to the oven in the house and broil them... ended up with some of the steaks being over cooked :( None of these issues would keep me from coming back here. It is a great house in a beautiful and unique part of Colorado. There are plenty of things to do and a great spot to unwind and enjoy with your family.

Everything you'd expect a cabin to have and more.

The views are beautiful and the cabin is very comfortable. It has something to offer for every age group. The game room is a lot of fun and nice and cool on a hot day. There is ample parking and two vehicles can park on a concrete pad, which is helpful. The kitchen has most everything you need including a large spice rack. The location is just minutes from Red Feather Lakes, but still seems very private. No cabins are in full view so no one can see you. Great place for families.
