The Banyan

I have always enjoyed my stay at the Waikiki Banyan and this stay was no exception. The condo was very clean, comfortable and well supplied. The location is just right when it comes to doing things in Waikiki.

Everything you need and more. The view was exceptional, the apartment is clean and well stocked. Fast responsee from the owner. The pool area and barbecues are a big plus. Would definitely recommend!

One of the best locations to stay at. This place was like being at home with all the amenities available to you there. Could get a stronger air con unit. It was rather small for such a large space. The only real issue is parking if you arrive after 9 pm. It gets full rather early but other than that, my family and I enjoyed our stay there very much.

Do yourself a favour and do not book here

This property is infested with cockroaches -- we even found some in the refrigerator and microwave -- on the walls in the living room. The owner was informed and wanted to spray during the stay. Also denied this being a problem - no way this was a brand new issue - cockroach paste found in the suite. Tried to ask the owner for a refund and they stopped responding. Currently going through the VRBO health and safety department and praying I didn't bring any home. the location is great, but it is not worth dealing with a pest problem at that price.

Good and bad

The location was great and the room layout and amenities were good. David was quick to respond when we called our messaged him with concerns or needs. With that said, there were numerous concerns on our 9 day stay. First, we dealt with roaches for the duration of the stay. David was responsive and had the room treated on the second day, but we continued to kill roaches all throughout the stay, even on our last day. From a cleanliness standpoint, this place needs a thorough scrubbing. The cabinets were discolored from dirt and grime, and crumbs were found in numerous cabinets and drawers. There was dirt build up on the trim and on the floor around the trim and doors. The sliding door only opened about a third of the way, which made it difficult for us. The owner tried to fix it, but the improvement was short lived. There was drywall and paint peeling on the shower ceiling. At night, the lighting was dim, which made it hard to see. As a whole, we loved the short walk to the beach, but we would not stay again.

Good view and big enough to eat and get ready for the adventure ahead

Every day I got to wake up and see the ocean. Easy walking distance to the beach and eateries. We did have a fire evacuation for the whole building on the second night and 25 flights of stares hurt. They had a book of handy information. Checkout was easy as well. Overall we had a great experience.

perfect vacation

The location and apartment were perfect. Very convenient for walking to the beach, restaurants and shopping. Loved that the washer and dryer were on our floor . Very easy to get around via Uber or the trolly. We could see the ocean from our porch and I loved having coffee there every morning

Amazing location, great apartment!!!

The check in and check out process was simple and perfect! Parking was great! David was so helpful, every question I had he answered very quickly. The location of the apartment was amazing!!! The apartment was stocked with everything from beach stuff to first aid and cooking utensils. The 6th floor was a bonus with the pool, BBQ and recreation area. The breeze on the 6th and view of diamond head was beautiful. Our family of 5 had a great and very affordable stay in this apartment. Thank you David for your Aloha and letting us rent out your apartment in beautiful Oahu! It was a dream come true for our family. We are are feeling very blessed!!!

Good place to stay in Waikiki at reasonable price

The place is nice. Beds are fine even though there was a plastic cover on the mattress, which made noice when we moved during the night. I guess it prevents bugs, so I am ok with that. The place was a bit tight for a family of 5. Not much intimacy since the bathroom area is kind of open. Useful beach accessories available! The Waikiki Banyan is an older building which would benefit from a flooring up-date since smelly carpet in the hallway... but not too too bad... we did appreciate very much the BBQ area, the pool, and the spa for the evening dip. Thanks David the little attentions in the unit and letting us stay at your place.

Great place! It was clean and had everything we needed. Great location also.

We were very pleased. If I had to give constructive feedback it would only be to suggest that extra sheets/bedding and towels/washcloths be provided for a long stay. Our stay was 10 days long, so we had to do some laundry. Everything else was great! We loved it!

Location, location, location!

This was a great property that was well-equipped and in a terrific location. Easy communication with the owner and couldn’t have wanted for anything more. Highly recommended!
