The Waikiki Banyan is the best spot if you want to stay near the beach but have your own kitchen for cooking. The free parking is one of the other amazing perks of this building. The unit itself was comfortable and had a lot of helpful provisions such as beach gear, cooking needs (oil, salt, etc) and sufficient dish/cookware.The management company host is incredibly responsive and did his best to promptly address some concerns upon check-in, namely that the quilt on the bed, which also serves as the blanket, had not been washed and smelled like sweat, as did the pillow shams. There was hair stuck to this part of the bedding as well, although the sheets themselves were clean. There also were not enough beach towels provided for our number of guests. The management host had the cleaning service return to the apartment and provide us with more Beach towels, as well as taking the bedding to be washed and dried that night and returned to us.The unit itself smelled strongly of bleach, because I think whoever is hired to do the cleaning uses straight bleach products. Ironically, though, when we had to wipe up some sand off the floor that first night, the paper towel was quite black so I don't think they are doing a thorough cleaning job, just using a lot of bleach so that it smells clean. I think that if the company hired a better cleaning service, and did a few small touch-ups or repairs around the unit it would be five stars for sure.
