Very little redeeming value other than location
This has been the most unpleasant stay that I have experienced in a rental apartment. It began by having to go out of the way in order to receive the key to the rental apartment. Not having received any details or instructions about the property upon picking up the keys, I expected to meet someone at the site. There was no one there and no written information about the place in the apartment . Upon entering I noticed that the sofa was completely worn out,the wallpaper at the entrance was dirty and peeling. The bathroom ceiling was completely flaking and coming off, the grouting around the bathtub was moldy, there was only one night table in the bedroom but no reading lamps, no dish towels and only one wine glass!
I set out to by some grocery essentials, including some wine glasses. Upon returning, i found out that there was not even a coffee maker in the kitchen! I reported this to the leasing company agent who wrote back that they were trying to get in touch with the “local manager”. No one ever got back to me.
The information produced by the leasing agency mentioned that one of the features of the property was access to paying laundry equipment. When I got to the laundry room, I was advised that in order to pay for the use of the equipment I required a paycard that is supposed to be supplied by the property owner. There was no such card in the apartment. I again contacted the leasing agent who apologized and said they would try to contact the “local manager”. Again I have received no answer and have not even received a follow up acknowledgment.
I wrote again asking about the coffee maker and the paycard but have not received any response. This is completely unacceptable.
When I reported the issues of scaling paint, worn out sofas, moldy grouting, I was asked to send photos which I did and was told that it had been reported. I mentioned that this apartment should never have been made available for rent in such a bad state.
I believe I should be compensated for all of the issues and problems I had to put up with. This definitely does not make for good advertising for your agency.
