Villas Paradise overlooks the beautiful little village of El Fosforo at El Castillo, and look on to the majestic Arenal Volcano and lake. Its amazing location allows guests to enjoy views of both the volcano and lake.
Paradise is a family owned business located in a beautiful, quiet and unique area in Arenal. Our villa have stunning views of the Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal. We are located is only 7Km from the National Park and 100 mts from the Arenal Lake, 25 min from the town of La Fortuna. We are very accessible for all types of vehicle With more and more travelers choosing to skip the crowded resorts of La Fortuna, the town of El Castillo near the Arenal Volcano is now becoming the place where you can find the most unique and peaceful hotels in the area We like to limit the place to only 15 guests (maximum 4 people per villa) for a more private and peaceful feel. Perfectly located for those wanting to explore the breathtaking Arenal Area.

Wonderful view and location

Away from the hustle and bustle of La Fortuna, this place offered a relaxing reprieve. It was on the basic yet comfortable side and the food delicious.

Pure Paradise

We stayed 4 nights at the villas and it was absolutely amazing. The room was clean, the staff was very accommodating and the views was phenomenal. Would for sure stay here again.

Great location

30min outside of La Fortuna. Very nice view and comfortable beds. Breakfast was amazing just wish it had been a little closer for all our activities

Great place

The view was amazing and the villa had everything I needed. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the food in the restaurant was great. It is about 30 minutes outside of La Fortuna, which is perfect if you want somewhere a little quieter.

What a perfect place to stay

Great location nearby so many destinations, friendly staff, the food was delicious, and holy hell the views were spectacular. There was nothing more gorgeous than waking up looking over the lake to the sounds of the tropical birds, then walking down to have a delicious meal before starting the day. Truly a hidden gem and im so glad we found it!

Extended family trip

Great place to stay. Views were amazing! Staff were always so helpful. Breakfast was included and great food. We ate dinner there every night we were there and had great food. Water sports the rent very close. Small market was also very close.

Amazing views comfy stay

We loved setting out on the deck. The room had everything we needed and the A/C worked great. Our room wasn’t fancy, but it had everything we needed. The view was worth the price! The staff was very welcoming and accommodating and took excellent care of us, and the breakfast every morning was a plus. We hope to stay again in the future.

Great room with great view

This property was perfect for our one night stay, I would come back and stay longer if I ever get the chance. Amazing view with everything we needed and more. Only complaint was there was no hot water. Included breakfast was a nice bonus!!

Amazing!

Incredible place and location! Sooo glad we stayed here rather than in LAFortuna!!! The drive to all the places in the area was easy and beautiful! In fact we saw lots of the wildlife on our drives! Staying at this location was very special and the inclusive breakfast was to die for and the view was amazing. We had dinner twice at their restaurant which was great. We spent our mornings with coffee on the balcony watching the clouds lift over the volcano and the hummingbirds play! Can’t say enough about this place! Safe, the kindest employees, views, food!!! Amazing!!

Fantastic location close to everything

We could not have been happier staying here. The view of Arenal if amazing. It is close to everything, yet far enough away to where you feel you are are not in the middle of tourist central. The hosts are gracious. They answered all our questions before we got there and while we were there. Thier restuarant is wonderful, as are many within a few minutes of the location. I would highly recommend. Thank you Fermin and family!

Barks and chirps

The hotel was good. the food was good. the hot tub was not hot! There were lots of dogs that barked during the night. And there was a bug that chirped all night in our room, I had to ware ear plugs to sleep.

Arenal Volcano View

Every time we woke up, we were greeted with the best view of Arenal Volcano and its lake. You could never go wrong with this place. Near La Fortuna and more. There's only 3 cabins so place felt exclusive and private. The room is spacious enough for my family of 4 and restroom is also quite spacious. The 2 queen beds were comfortable. And the free breakfast in their restaurant is very good and again with beautiful view.The host is very responsive and even reminded us about free breakfast.We we're so glad we chose to stay here.

The stay was exactly what we had hoped for! Quiet, easy, simple and convenient! We hiked the Arenal Trails walked the Mystic Bridges, ate at Fusion Restaurant, which is located right on property and loved every moment! The staff is very welcoming! Don’t rush through the Arenal, stay a few nights. We wanted to go to the Sky adventures but didn’t get signed up in time. My advice is to get signed up for the zip lines asap, pay for the tour guide through the mystic bridges and bring wear waterproof shoes. Pay for the guide!!! We saw things we would have NEVER found alone, an owl, snakes, a sloth sleeping, birds galore and heard howler monkeys. Lots of rain so take your poncho it was actual part of the magic for us to walk in the rain. I went between 3-4 rating bc there are ants. IMO it comes with being in the area and it did not bother me to be diligent with food but it may bother some people bc they were kind of everywhere. I stayed over in Potrero and they had ants too just bigger lol.

Spectacular views

The views were amazing. There were butterflies and hummingbirds all around our patio every day, and all day long. The place is well manicured, and the room is small but clean. It has all the basic needs included. Fermin and his staff were pleasant and welcoming. The food in the restaurant was fresh and excellent. The place is a bargain at this price with breakfast included. The only problem we had was that there was a power outage the night we arrived, and it was hot and wet, so no A/C, but this was not the fault of the property. My only suggestions would be to have a back up generator for the air conditioning units, and just cover up the drain pipes under the sinks and wiring over the shower head. I would definitely visit again, and suggest it to anyone who doesn’t want to spend huge money at one of the resorts, and has a car.

Stunning views, delicious food, perfect location

I thought there was no way our room would have as good a view as was depicted in the listing but it was honestly even better. Paradise just might be coming home from a long hot day, ordering a beer, and sitting on the private porch just staring at the volcano and the lake. Each of the 3 cabins have the same set up and view so you don’t even have to worry about which one you’re placed in. Not only that but Fermin and his staff went above and beyond at every opportunity, helping with rides, answering questions, and generally being the most gracious hosts we could ask for. The restaurant was delicious and we ended up eating there for all 3 nights of our stay. It was convenient having a small market next door as well. The hotel is located about 30 minutes from La Fortuna and 10 minutes from Sky Adventure. While the distances make this slightly more convenient for those travelers who have rented cars my friend and I were still able to manage quite well without. Ubers are available for the way there, you can have a full and adventurous day on the lake by just walking across the street, and Fermin can help with rides if you ask in advance for going to other locations. There’s also a local bus to La Fortuna that leaves from the market right next door at 6:50am and returns around 5:50pm. They even packed us a delicious boxed breakfast to bring with us on the morning we took advantage of this option. All in all, staying at Villas Paradise was a not to miss experience.

Lovely view!

We stayed for 4 nights and had a lovely time. The staff here is stellar and quite friendly & helpful. The cabin is cozy and comfortable, and you have a volcano view from the beds! I enjoyed my first morning just sitting on the porch, watching the hummingbirds in the flower bushes. It does get hot and muggy, so the A/C was very welcome during the day. A fridge and microwave & coffee maker are furnished. Breakfast is included with the room. We had dinner here the first night and the ceviche was really really tasty, and service excellent. The restaurant is open-air with an amazing view of the volcano and lake. It rained a little bit every day, but mostly in the evening, and the restaurant is set up to be OK in any weather. This restaurant is a bit upscale, but there are several casual eateries and mini-markets along the way. The only negative is the WIFI is a bit spotty in the room, but that meant that part of the time we had to…. Read…. An actual paper book! Oh the pain! But WIFI at the restaurant was strong and we did our heavy duty interweb stuff down there while we had breakfast. There are so many activities close by - butterfly conservatory, zip lining, volcano viewing, hot springs, La Fortuna waterfall, bird watching, exploring, boating, night jungle tour (Mistico Hanging Bridges, fabulous)- I’m glad we had a full 4 nights here. I would come back!

All staff members we worked with were amazing! I booked the wrong dates and they were more than accomodating to help us get in a night earlier than booked. We were very appreciative of that. The room however, was not clean. Not clean at all. Hair on the toilet. Coffee all over the counter with a spoon laying out. Bathroom sink hasn't been wiped out since the last guest.

El Castillo

Although the room was very basic (just three beds and not much else), our experience was good. I thought this location was closer to La Fortuna (it was a 45 min drive) but things worked out well. This town is definitely off the beaten path but had a tremendous view of Arenal (and park of the lake). We had a terrific breakfast with a stunning view of the volcano and the restaurant staff was really great. There isn't much in the town but there is a market, cafes, and numerous natural attractions that are walking distance. This was a 'no frills' positive experience. I would give this lodging my recommendation.

Breath taking, Fun and Friendly!

Just what we were looking for. Wonderful people, unbelievable beautiful view, peaceful, authentic and amazing wildlife! Castillo del Arenal is located on a hilltop of the friendly village of El Castillo. Eduardo says it is family owned, he could also say family runned. It was so refreshing to see (related or not) how the staff and family members worked together to create a warm inviting environment. The front desk, bar with pool table, large outdoor deck and restaurant were all together overlooking a magnificent veiw.🌋 This was a great place to go and visit or sit and relax quietly. The staff (family)moved around gracefully to where ever they are needed. Danny, who worked at the front mostly, help us out patiently countless times with information of the area and taking care of our arrangements. She even arranged several birthday surprises for my husband when she found out it was his birthday🎂The wonderful young ladies that cleaned our bungalow everyday left a heart warm creative towel arrangement complete with flowers and birthday decoration. After eating a delicious dinner the restaurant staff presented a scrumptious dessert that melted in our mouth. It was a unexpected wonderful birthday that but a big smile on my husband's face. THANK YOU!!!! This was our 1st stop in Costa Rica. From what we read we thought we could get away without renting a car. We probably could have except for getting to the different VRBO reservation we had across the country. We were very happy that they were able to set up car to get to our next destination that we felt very comfortable. During our 5-6 day stay in El Castillo we found plenty of great places within scenic walking distance. The Butterfly Conservatory, Lake Arenal, Kelly's, Howler's, Essence Arenal (took a tour and made chocolate), beautiful streams to wade in and quaint little grocery stores and restaurants for snacks and drinks. Everywhere we went everyone was so friendly. It was fun running into smiling faces of people we meet somewhere else in the community. We hope we can return someday and visit all the friends we made while relaxing overlooking the amazing scenery🍻🌋📷😊🍹🍫🌴🚶🌌🌄🌺🐒❕
