Maalaea Banyans #403 is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit on the top floor. It has a panoramic ocean view, a fully-equipped kitchen, window unit air conditioning in the living room and master bedroom, 3 flat-screen TVs, and free WIFI. The living room features A/C, ceiling fan, and flat-screen TV. A pair of high-powered binoculars is included for spotting turtles and whales. There is a king bed in the master bedroom, A/C, ceiling fan, a flat-screen TV, and a full bathroom. Bedroom #2 has a queen bed, ceiling fan, flat-screen TV, and a full bathroom. Bedroom #2 is above the living room and is sufficiently cooled by the living room A/C. In addition to the listed amenities, #403 also has a vacuum cleaner, Circulon cookware, a spice rack, Kitchenaid knife block, and Kitchenaid hand mixer, a set of mixing bowls, BBQ tools, a waterproof rechargeable Bluetooth speaker, and a Sharper Image 6-port USB charging station. Note: A $300 refundable security deposit is required for this unit. Sleeps 4.
Same day bookings and those arriving within 48 hours of making the reservation require a phone call to Rentals Maui for confirmation.
Bookings made within 7 days of arrival will require an ID check and screening prior to confirmation.

Great location. The air condition situation was horrible. No extra boxes of Kleenex tissue as one had just one sheet and the other was low. The microwave and dryer are too high for short people.

We enjoyed our stay. Had a small issue with the toilet not flushing towards the end of our stay but it was promptly addressed by the owner as were any questions we had. The only things we would change if we could would be the AC not being on a timer as it got hot during the night and more available hot water for the shower, but it wouldn’t deter us from staying again!! Beautiful property!

Best view in Maui

Loved our stay here. 2 adults in main room, and 2 teens in upstairs room. We each had our own bathrooms which was nice. The view is the real selling point though...honestly the best we saw on the island being right on the water with views of Haleakala as well. 4 beach chairs and an umbrella were very nice too. Great central location.

Reviewer Comments: Great location - close to other famous beaches, on waterfront where we could see turtles swimming in the “backyard,” balcony area opens up to waterfront, and very close to the airport. We rented a car so everything very accessible. We didn’t use pool or hot tub which are in the smaller side. Place itself was cute and spacious and was nice to have fridge and microwave. Great to have your own room and bathroom also. Overall enjoyed this place!

Our trip to Maui

This is a great place to stay. For January it was quiet and peaceful without crowds of people. Its a smaller condominium and we liked that. You do have to drive to everything but that was not a problem either since people need to get out and explore the island anyways. The only thing I could suggest is softer mattresses, but that is a personal preference too.

Really enjoyed the pace and tranquility of the location and the gorgeous view from the balcony. Hot tub was nice and hot and they were never too many people around. Nice quiet, relaxed vibe.

Definitely worth a stay

This property was very centrally located and the views were fantastic. Communication with the property manager was great and the pool, hot tub, and beach at the end of the street were great after a long day. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the unit and property were clean but worn. The towels were thin and the pillows flat but overall would stay again.

Excellent Location, Beautiful View!

While working in Kahului, I chose to stay at the Maalaea Banyans which was a great decision! The location was perfect for my daily commute to work and it an easy walk down the street to catch our weekend excursion to Molokini Crater to go snorkeling. The property was very clean, the hot tub and pool were a great addition, I appreciated having cable TV as well as Netflix to watch movies after the sun went down. The only thing that could have made our stay better was that the air conditioning didn’t keep the bedrooms as cool as we would have liked. We did use the box fan we found upstairs to help circulate the air which helped some. We read the other reviews and thought it would be okay but it just didn’t cool down enough for us at night and it was hot. Otherwise, a great stay and highly recommend this property!

Good but…

We stayed at a condo in this complex in 2018 which was rented from a private individual so somewhat knew the lay of the land. Good property overall: spectacular view, grills, pool, hot tub (didn’t use any of the facilities this time). Parking is adequate and the grounds are nice. Property is a tad dated and this condo was definitely wanting for some TLC (3 curtains over one window) and peeling paint. I understand that’s potentially partly due to salt air but be aware regardless Overall it was decent but not fantastic. Probably the biggest headache was the AC. One small “window” unit in the living room and a large portable one in the lower bedroom. Oscillating tower fan provided only in the upper loft bedroom which seemed strange given the need and the low cost for these. Both AC units were on twist timers and so shut off by themselves. Bedroom one had a longer timer (6 hrs?) and main area was 2 hours or so. Neither could keep up with the heat and following directions meant shutting it all down every time you leave. Seems logical on paper for cost but then humidity increases dramatically thru glass tilt windows and it never gets it back under control. Bedroom unit had a small drain hose dripping into a plastic waste basket which we discovered would fill up (thankfully before it overflowed). I didn’t remember reading anything about this important responsibility so if it’s not in the listing be aware. Mgmt company communication was great.

Gorgeous view and good location

This unit had all we needed. The kitchen was stocked well to have some meal in. There was plenty of linens and even some snorkels and beach items. The location on the water was wonderful. We saw sea turtles from the balcony. The AC unit didn't work great so we just opened a window and the balcony sliding door and had a fantastic breeze the whole day. The pool and hot tub were perfect after a day of exploring. I felt the location was central to the many things we did all over the island. It is not in a main touristy area so you will drive to do the normal things but we did activities in every direction so it worked great for us. They do require a refundable deposit which I was not used to, but I did get it back about a week later.

Lofty expectations in Maui

Clean and good layout with a fantastic ocean view. Access to a grill, pool and hot tub made our stay very enjoyable. A/C in first floor bedroom was not connected properly so the room did not cool down without an incoming breeze from the the balcony. Nice kitchen.

We loved all the extra thought into the little things available...such as a cooler, beach towels, bbq utensils, etc. We spent a lot of meals, cards, games on patio because it was cooler. The AC didn’t really cool the condo off much, bedroom AC blew out warm air. Leaving ceiling fan on a patio door open did better. May we suggest maybe flipping tv/entertainment center to wall in living room where couch currently is, then add a small sectional couch where tv currently is. Create more comfortable family seating. Three people tops can sit on current couch to watch movie/tv, leaves everyone else pulling up chairs. Microwave door is very inconvenient, needs to swing other direction. Patio door was off track so opened really hard, lights in main bathroom did not work ...other than that, very satisfied!

Family Trip

We loved our stay in this ocean front condo. Very central location, close to airport and freeways. The condo was clean and had all listed amenities. Plenty of space for a family of 4. Best part is the lanai with gorgeous ocean views, and watching the sea turtles play in the waves right in front of us!

Amazing direct ocean views – whale watching from your own balcony.

Loved spotting whales (seasonal) with the provided binoculars while eating breakfast from the balcony/lanai. Would book again based on "central" location and amazing views of the bay/ocean. Fairly direct view of the Molokini crater in the distance as well. Space is adequate, but it is a little on the "close quarters" side of things. Just be prepared for that and it will be fine. Our adult son thought the Hideaway bed was reasonably comfortable, especially compared to some other places we have stayed. The stackable washer dryer is great. Just be aware that it's located in the main bedroom closet and the dryer vent exhausts directly into the bedroom closet itself. Not a big issue if you start the dryer as you are leaving the condo for the day. It's fine to use when you are there as well, but the bedroom gets a little "musty". Unit Includes some beach chairs and snorkels. The window and portable AC units do indeed cool the place down. Helps to open the front and back doors when you get home for the day just to air things out before turning on the AC. The place worked great for our family of four! We would consider booking again.

Great Place for an Active Trip

We were out doing stuff all day so this place was a perfect fit for us. It was nice and had everything we needed. The only complaints are that there are no fans or windows in the washrooms, and there was nowhere to hang clothes in the upstairs loft. Relatively minor stuff. We saw tonnes of whales, dolphins, and turtles right from the balcony. I would not recommend doing the grocery delivery as it is very expensive. The quantities are hit or miss and you just don’t know how much you are spending until the bill comes. Communication with the property was great, the check-in process was flawless, and the app they ask you to download is quite helpful.

Perfect long weekend

This lovely condo in Maalaea was the perfect place for a fun and beautiful Maui visit. The view from the living room / lanai was breathtaking… we can’t decide if we loved sunrise or sunset better! So memorable! The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. You can’t beat this location on the island. We found great restaurants and surf spots just minutes away. We will be back!
