Foothills Perfected

Can’t say enough nice things about this property. Fantastic owner who was really attentive and communicative, making reservations and arrivals easy. Lovely swimming pool and comfortable living spaces make it easy to unwind. House is ideally designed for families and/or couples to share time together yet have quiet, separate vacations. Super kitchen for cooking and sharing food. Wonderful views of the Catalina. Mountains in a private, gated community that’s easily walkable. Highly recommended for visitors who want to enjoy the Sonoran Desert in a relaxed place that makes the rest of Tucson easy to access. Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Beautiful And clean home, neighborhood and pool, and the hosts were wonderful! During our stay we saw roadrunners, javelinas and lots of lizards and hummingbirds! While hot in August, the cool pool and big trees made for a super enjoyable experience. Definitely recommended!

The house was wonderful!. Kids are loving the pool. My daughter, who is 17 and quite particular, loves that she has a separate suite. Looking forward to staying again.

Great stay

Owners were very attentive and made sure we had everything. A little gift basket was waiting for us upon our arrival which shows what type of people they are. 🙂 Home was Very clean, beds very confortable. Very quiet gated community with quality homes in the immediate neighborhood. Since nothing can be Perfect, the only thing we felt like could be improved would be this: it would have been great if a few long chairs would have been available around the pool. The pool has a little waterfall which makes a very relaxing sound, therefore a few long chairs for napping in the afternoon would have been great. Thank you Lorraine and Michael.

Great owners

We have rented through VRBO for a number of years, 10-15 years, and approximately 20-25 houses. This house is extremely well located in the Catalina foothills, with great views, spacious, and well-stocked. What made the stay so enjoyable were the owners, Mike and Lorraine. They really went out of their way to provide good information on the area, , tix to a golf tourney, access to a gym and so on. It made the stay really a treat and they can’t be thanked enough.

Beautiful home with a great view

This is a lovely home in the foothills north of Tucson. Our party was two couples, so it was very nice to have the two master suites in the house. They are both spacious and nicely decorated. The third bedroom would be a good kids' room. The sunken living room provides plenty of seating and beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows. The kitchen and dining area is large and there are high quality appliances and kitchenware. Minor complaint: we could not get the outdoor hot tub to heat up even after discussing the process with the owner. Either something was broken or it is very tricky. The owners did promise to look into it.

Great house and great hosts

Lorraine and Micheal are incredible hosts and really gracious people. They filled the house with everything you could want or need. The house was beautiful and very relaxing to be in. We work when we stay in vacation rentals. We loved taking our many breaks in their yard. The views from it of the Catalina mountains were wonderful. There is big comfy office room that has a Murphy bed. We used it as a work space but it could be a third bedroom. Lorraine and Micheal were the most thoughtful and generous hosts we've ever had. Lorraine has stocked the house with everything one would want to use; from cooking utensils, oil, shampoo and much more. Not to mention the big welcome basket. The water heater thermostat broke when we were there. Micheal was on top of it immediately and had it fixed that same day. Micheal and Lorraine arranged for us to use the pool and showers at a club until we had hot water again. Lorraine also made sure we got to the great farmer's market 10 minutes from the house. We enjoyed this house and highly recommend it.

Well-appointed, Spacious Gem

Affordable, spacious gem is modern, gleaming, w/lots of glass letting in Tucson light and views, and chic counters, attractive wood cabinets, glass backsplashes, and comfortable beds in large rooms with attached full baths that include beautifully tiled showers and distinctive vessel sinks/faucets. Too many nice touches/unique fixtures to list. We liked the no-touch, sensor-activated kitchen faucet, which has an excellent sprayer. House perched high above city, close to Catalina mtns, and from it one can see into Pima Canyon. Seemingly every kind of flower that can thrive in Tucson grows around the attractive backyard pool/spa/patio area, which even has a metal fire grate. Even quite a few large, fragrant white roses blooming, not a common Tucson feature. A lot of work to keep roses here! Black-chinned Hummingbirds consistently fed on tubular orange flowers. Saw small, colorful Verdin bird feeding on berries at patio, + Cactus Wrens + Roadrunners in yard. Neighborhood quiet w/dark night skies for star-gazing, great for walking by day; as you walk higher there are unfolding dramatic views of mountains/valley. House well-appointed with everything a family could need. We were welcomed with a gift basket of treats + a nice welcome note. Delightful manager Lorraine was in touch via text/phone to welcome us, answer qqs. Kitchen passed "colander test” (+ all other tests): Many rentals forget to provide a colander for washing fruit/draining pasta, but Sin Vacas had 3 types of colanders each good for different purposes! They thought of everything for kitchen. Dishes, mugs, cups, silverware are all new, neat, and make you want to own them at your home. Variety of coffees were provided for the Keurig; only thing lacking was decaf. Ample attached pantry had lots of free items. Not stingy on anything in bathrooms either: Large bottles of desirable shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap, and enough toilet paper to outlast our 11-day stay and next few guests too. Many rentals give a pittance of TP despite high fees, requiring guests to spend time and $ to go buy more while on vacation/working, whereas even cheap hotels give enough TP! Sin Vacas provided plenty. Ditto on paper towels. TV package good, w/new 4K TV, living rm. couches and chairs firm, new, comfortable. Laundry rm. has it all, even Resolve. Will return here, if we can get it! A few hrs after we left, my 8-yr-old son asked, “When can we stay at that house again?”

We purchased this home in September 2018 and have furnished it with everything that we know will make our guests feel comfortable and well cared for. We live in Tucson, just a short drive from the home. Michael moved to Tucson from Colorado and has also lived in Illinois and Wisconsin. Lorraine is from Miami Beach, Florida and has lived in Denver, Houston and Los Angeles but has made Tucson home since 2004. We both love the winter weather in Arizona and have even become accustomed to the warmer weather in the summer; we just love it here year round. We are excited to welcome guests to this wonderful desert oasis and look forward to hosting you.

Location, location, location! It is a magnificent home that is kept in pristine condition and furnished with beautiful, new appointments from furniture to linens and everything in between. This is not our primary residence, so guests do not have to live among our personal belongings. The house lives like a resort hotel with all of the amenities and privacy you need and want. We are meticulous about cleaning and sanitation of the property.

The outdoor space is unreal. You will so enjoy spending time at the pool, gazing at the incredible Catalina Foothill mountains. Also, 2 of the 3 bedrooms are master suites and the home is very spacious and comfortable.
