Historic Victorian in the heart of Idaho Springs. The "Owls Nest" retreat includes a large Master Suite with tub, custom Bunk Beds, Kitchen, second bathroom, and cozy Living Room. Walk to restaurants and shops on Main Street- or take a short drive to the many adventures in this timeless area!

Built in 1905 and lovingly updated over the years. This space is classic yet chic- cozy yet open- and so well positioned for an exciting trip to the mountains.

Our home backs up to Main Street- listed on the National Register of Historic Places- and contains multiple breweries, locally-owned boutiques, cafes, and specialty shops. Walk to everything you need, including mine tours, rafting trips, family parks, and more:

- Family-friendly Loveland Ski Area is only 24 miles west.
- 14,000 foot Mount Evans is a short and scenic drive away.

This was such a fun trip. The Owl’s Nest and the host couldn’t have been nicer. In fact, the town of Idaho Springs is probably the nicest town of people I’ve had the pleasure to meet. So many nice shops and the local restaurants are excellent.

The Owl's Nest is the upper level of this very cute vintage house in Idaho Springs. Parking is on the street and with the exception of the first few hours of our trip - we had no trouble parking directly outside of the house. Idaho Springs can get busy on weekends when the weather is good! We were able to walk to everything! Main Street is 2 minutes away, Safeway was a few blocks away, and the Hot Springs also only a few blocks away! We were a family of 3 and were very comfortable here! There is a view of the waterfall from the kitchen/living room window. This was a perfect home base for our trip to Red Rocks (22 minutes away). We enjoyed a rafting trip and hiked around St Mary's Glacier. A perfect Red Rocks Concert Weekend!

Small Mountain Town Escape

This home has a perfect location, being just steps from Idaho Springs’ historic downtown that includes multiple restaurants, breweries, shops, etc and it’s an easy on/off to I-70. We would recommend MTN Prime, and we really enjoyed the Pizza at Beau Jo’s. The summer time is nice as they block off traffic to Main Street during the summer/early fall for outdoor dining and activities. The home had everything one would need for a short stay and it was as depicted from the listing. It is quiet, cozy and the hosts were great and very receptive - we will look to return if/when we return to the Denver area!

Perfect stay

This was perfect. Great location with wonderful communication from host. Small and cute. Perfect for 2 adults or a couple with children. Close to everything. There are stairs leading up to the property and the elevation does take a bit to get used to. Drink plenty of water! Stunning area with many great restaurants and shops.

Very tiny with limited resources.

Four things were good, but everything else was terrible. 1. Bed was comfy, 2. Location to shops/bars/downtown was great. 3. The shower pressure was good. 4. The manager was very responsive. Bad: extremely tiny, the stairs cannot be legal, the amenities were lacking, no airflow while cooking, felt like we were being listened to, only one TV which was in the living room, barely any outlets, there was an oven mitt that had a huge hole in it which my husband burnt his fingers in, furniture was tiny, just overall, disappointed.

Great home base for mountain adventure

The property, like everything in Idaho Springs, is older but it’s still clean and well maintained. It is in a great location and everything in town is walkable. Idaho Springs is close enough to many attractions like Denver itself, Red Rocks, Blackhawk, Echo Mountain, El Dora and many others. The home would be suitable for a family of 4 but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for 4 adults because of the sleeping arrangements. I would have no worries about booking this home again in the future.

Great location for Halloween

We had so much fun trick-or-treating for Halloween and staying here. Everything was just a few minute walk away (the most we had to walk was 7 minutes!). We were hesitant to stay with two small children in a small place but the bunk beds, working internet (thank you!) and small kitchenette was perfect for our relaxing weekend. We also really enjoyed the jacuzzi tub. The property manager was super responsive upon arrival and check out. 10/10 recommend.

Excellent property in Idaho Springs

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this adorable property. Enjoyed having a great spot very close to all the shops and restaurants in town. Property had nice views and was well stocked on basic amenities. Was a great base camp as we explored Idaho Springs and went on several hikes in the surrounding area. Appreciated the hosts responsiveness for any questions as well.

Just what we needed

My husband and 2 kiddos loved the location. It was super easy to get anywhere in town. Walking distance to the main downtown area. House is cute & cozy. Communication was super easy.

Great walkable location

The home was perfect for our needs, with a comfortable bed, ample space to relax, and a well stocked kitchen for our quick stay. The town is very fun to explore with tons of shops and restaurants. The ability to walk to the downtown area was ideal. We would definitely rent this house again for future trips

We chose our vacation home in Idaho Springs for many reasons - the area's history is fascinating, and the location can't be beat for accessing all Colorado has to offer.
The Owls Next is a unique space, the hand-crafted bunk beds and funky elements make it so fun. It's our children's favorite place to hang out.
Our home is 113 years old and is featured in the city's Historic District. The interior has been lovingly updated and we hope you enjoy our home as much as we do!

Beat the "ski traffic" that clogs up I-70 in the mornings. Walk to the breweries at night. Curl up with a movie from our collection, or get out and hike a 14er. This home is well suited for all types of travelers.
