Waterfall Cottage is a 2BR/2BA plus a loft sleeping area cottage located in the heart of Boone, NC. Enjoy the sounds of the creek from everywhere in the house and the back deck and private waterfall picnic area. Inside, you'll find a gas fireplace, a stocked kitchen, and plenty of dining space to enjoy on your vacation. There is a fire pit outside past the deck to enjoy on cool summer nights. Outside, you'll find a unique experience with plenty of foliage and your very own private waterfall during your vacation. Follow the marked path beside the house to the waterfall area with plenty of space for picnics, waterhole swimming, or hiking along the boulders in the creek. Enjoy the serenity of a waterfall while being less than 5 minutes from your closest grocery store. Whether you want to visit Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, or even Beech Mountain, Waterfall Cottage has the best location for you to enjoy all things in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Book today!

*Please Note: This home does not have air conditioning, but there are fans in every room. Please enjoy the cool mountain air while on vacation. Please respect the full-time members of this community by being mindful and treating others as you would like to be treated. No loud noise is allowed outside after 10 PM. This home is pet-friendly for 2 dogs. Daily pet fees will apply.

This cottage is a gem!

What a perfect little cottage and location. The cottage had everything we needed and the grounds are amazing. The stream, waterfall, and vegetation make it feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere, yet you are just a ten minute drive to Boone. I would definitely stay here again.

My all time favorite place to stay❤️

Everything about this cabin is PERFECT, but I must say that the property and location is out of this world. My daughter and our dogs thoroughly enjoyed being by the creek every day. I'm an herbalist so I was super nerdy about all of the native "weeds" that I was able to identify. The cabin was immaculate and the beds were great. We cooked everyday and ate outside on the deck. I would buy this house today if o could and relocate to Boone. It's so magical ✨

Cute little getaway

Such a quaint and good cabin. It rained the entire time because of the hurricane, but we still made the best of it. The morning we went to leave, it snowed, so that was a beautiful goodbye. The small waterfall is a short walk on the property and such a pretty view. The ice maker and water filter in the fridge door do not work. The furniture is a little dated but I think it contributes to the charm of the cabin. The bed is not comfy but our cabin was not cold like others mentioned. We loved the gas fireplace and left the puzzle we completed at the cabin for the next family to enjoy. Wish it hadn’t rained the whole time but we still made the best of it.

Amazing Experience!

We loved this cabin and location! Very clean. The creek and waterfall was an amazing surprise. Beautiful and the sound was very peaceful. The only slight hurdle was that I didn't see that there was no air conditioning inside the home via the listing...which was my fault. And, during the day, it got very hot inside. It took some time to cool down with windows open and door. The home is very shaded, so that helped a lot. There were ceiling fans that helped a bit too. However, considering how hot it got, we thought more box fans should have been available. There was only one small oscillator fan. Should have at least four available IMHO. But, with attention to that, this home could get an extra star from us. We loved it!

Before you book, know up front that you will need a 4WD and a sense of adventure to access this property in winter. The road is not publicly maintained and is literally a sheet of ice, unlike the public roads. We checked in on a Wednesday a good week after they’d had a snow storm and there evidently were no winter safety preparations for our arrival. The parking spot was ice and the rock walkway was also dangerous. For over a decade we’ve been going to the mountains for snow and have never had an experience like this. The property should have been salted for safety and the private road maintained. Pros: -Cute cabin with nice layout -Lovely creek -Rhododendrons will be beautiful in spring -Had an issue with entry code and they were prompt to send another Cons: -Dangerous in winter -50 degrees on check-in and took 24 hours to get warm -Dog excrement all over the yard needs to be cleared away -Stated initially that property was 3 miles from Appalachian Ski Mountain but once complained they changed website to 7 miles (attached screen shot shows they forgot to update in all locations) -Needs pizza pan, pizza cutter, and clean new cookware

Nice cabin but needs a deep clean and some repairs

The listing states there are enough towels and wash cloths for the amount of places to sleep people. Which is listed as 6 on the info. There were only 4 towels and 4 wash cloths there. I sent 2 emails to the property manager and never heard back from them. They were every fast on getting back with me when I inquired about renting the cabin. There were 5 of us and had to wash before we could all take showers. The property is beautiful with a flowing stream behind the cabin. Great to go out on back deck to enjoy but the sliding glass doors take a very strong man to open. There seemed to be a lot of dust and spider webs inside so a deep cleaning should occur. Overall it was comfortable and had all the things you need with the exception of towels!

Beautiful location

Great location close to all the main attractions including Grandfather Mountain. Beautiful cabin Pet friendly. The beds were comfortable except for the pillows would recommend bringing your own. Otherwise overall a very good experience with Rent again.

Cold on check in

My in-laws arrived to the cabin with the outside temperature hovering around the 30-40s and it wasn’t much different inside. The cabin is heated through radiant heat, thus comes through the floors. It heats one degree per hour and heating instructions ask to turn heat to 52(!!) upon checking out - so do the math. The in-laws almost left to get a hotel due to the cold, Michiganders mind you, but layered up and used more blankets. Management needs to resolve this issue for the winter months, especially for those guests who are more intolerable of the cold.

Secluded cabin close to town perfect for pets

Beautiful little secluded cabin that is close enough to Boone to still run into town whenever you want. Backyard is amazing with a stream and waterfall that our dogs loved. Would definitely stay here again for the relaxing atmosphere!

Perfect Getaway

My husband and I had a relaxing time. The place was clean and true to the pictures. Fully stocked kitchen equipment which was refreshing for a change and having a place to bring our two small dogs was awesome. The sound of river was definitely wonderful to listen to at night for a peaceful sleep.

Cute cabin!

Wonderful cabin! However, the family room furniture slipcovers was not cleaned well. Food and crumbs all in the big chair in the family room, (dog?) slobber and stains all over the stool slipcover and chair reeked of dog, sliding glass doors had dog slobber all over the bottom half. We tried to wipe off the stains and brushed off the food, but finally we put a sheet we brought over the chair in order to sit on it. Otherwise, the cabin was wonderful and had so much personality. The beds and bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and inviting. Would have received 5 stars except for the family room furniture issue. We would love to return, but hope the cleaning situation improves.

Nice cottage for a white Christmas

We were lucky to arrive the day after a winter snow. Coming from Florida, this was a novelty for our kids. We had no problems finding the cabin, using google maps. The gravel street that takes to the cabin was covered in snow so having an AWD vehicle is almost the only way to go if there is ice on the ground. The town of Boone is 5 mins from the cabin if you want to get groceries or eat out. We cooked in all our meals, and the kitchen had all we needed for this. The cabin feels smaller than what the photos show but we had plenty of room for a family of four and a dog. We really enjoyed our time in the cottage.

My family and I stayed at Waterfall cottage for Thanksgiving 2020. The location was absolutely perfect. We came with two kids and two dogs. Even though it was quite cold outside the kids had a great time climbing on the rocks and exploring the stream out back. The gas fireplace made for some cozy nights. The cabin felt quite a bit smaller than it looked on the virtual tour. So I would not recommend it if you had more than four people. Also the cleaning could definitely be improved. It has clearly been surface cleaned between guests but it's in need of a deep cleaning. Many of the dishes that I pulled out of the cupboard needed to be washed prior to use. The downstairs bathroom shower curtain has mold on it and the baseboards were covered in dust. There were also cobwebs in the high ceilings. It was a very quiet rental. Definitely felt private in the backyard and on the back deck. The neighbors that we met were very friendly. Overall we're very glad we stayed there and had a nice holiday.

Beautiful property and charming house but inside could use a cleaning

First off, we had a wonderful time this weekend. It was the escape our family really needed. The babbling creek and ambiance could not have been better. The house was the perfect size for our family of 3 and dog. We were disappointed about the cleanliness of the home. The floors and beams were very dusty and the mats needed a good washing. We felt that we needed to wear socks at all times. We were very happy with the clean sheets and towels so there were definitely areas of the house that we did not have any complaints about. We would consider returning if we knew that the house was better cleaned next time. Overall, we were happy with our experience and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Cute but needs a good cleaning

Please do not add to the printed reviews. This is my private feedback to the rental property and owner, not to be made public. I would give 4 stars on view and 2 stars on cleanliness. The cabin was as cute as its pictues with the boudlers, steam and fire pit. The main living area was nice and neat. The kitchen, downstairs bathroom and master bedroom need a thorough cleaning. There was a thick layer of dust on the baseboards behind the furniture in the bedroon, the sheets did not seem fresh and had a few stains. I did wash the sheets the next day.The mattress protector desperately needs to be washed. The downstairs shower had a few stray hairs on the wall and gunk in the corners of the shower. The bathroom floor needs a good mopping and the multicolored rug in front of the shower needs to be washed.Also, the kitchen has a tile countertop that needs to be cleaned due to mildew build-up in the grout. Also some pots and utensils had been previously put away that were greasy and not clean. I washed almost everything prior to use because I was not sure what was really clean and what was not. Also, it would have been helpful to know ahead of time that it was radiant heat. It was a pleasant surprise though that they did leave firewood for the firepit. That was great appreciated. Would love to go back in the future if I knew it was going to be clean.

Waterfall Cottage

We truly enjoyed our stay at Waterfall Cottage. Overall we would rate it a four out of five for two main reasons: the road where the cottage is located is gravel and narrow with several potholes and the house could use some maintenance - plants growing out of rain gutters, bathroom floor linoleum lifting at seams, cobwebs and dust collecting on corners of walls, some of the kitchen utensils were rusted. These were minor inconveniences. Otherwise our stay was wonderful.

Looking for a safe escape from the COVID19 Pandemic, we found this wonderful little cottage in Boone through Carolina Cabin Rentals. Would highly recommend. Clean, private, comfortable, well appointed kitchen, with a creek approx. 30 feet from the back deck, and a private waterfall!! Situated centrally for day trips to Linville for a hike to the Linville Falls; the town of Boone and Appalachian State Univ.; Blowing Rock; Grandfather Mountain with the famous "Mile High Swinging Bridge; and a short hop to Tennessee where we enjoyed visiting a winery. Looking forward to returning soon!
