Welcome to our little escape. Come experience the peace and quiet of Borrego Springs. Relax in a cozy mid century modern house. Curl up on the couch, Light a fire and watch a movie. Absorb the sun while reading or relaxing on our patio overlooking the wide open desert. Drink a glass of wine on our roof deck while watching the sun set behind the Santa Rosa mountains. Barbeque your favorite foods. Play a round of golf at one of several nearby courses. Walk or bike aound our friendly neighborhood with its many mid century and other architecturally designed homes. Explore the Anza Borrego State Park or dine in one of the many great restaurants in the small village of Borrego Springs, just 3 miles away. We come here to get inspired and relax. We have installed new windows, a new patio, a total kitchen remodel, new travertine floors throughout, furniture appropriate for a mid-century house and many other things. Both bathrooms feature walk-in showers, the house has a fully equipped laundry room, and all supplies are kept well stocked. The kitchen should have all you need to prepare and eat the finest food and we have a propane barbeque on the patio for your use. We also have cable TV, a stereo with an iphone connector, a DVD player with a small collection of movies, wireless internet and an Amazon Firestick for watching Netflixs, etc if you have an Amazon Prime account. Please take note of our discounted weekly and monthly rates. Last but not least....... We finally have our spa up and running. If you are interested in using it we should talk. It takes a little extra effort and it uses a considerable amount of electricity; about $10 a day. To some guests it is worth it, and we are allowing guests to use it if they reimburse us for the extra electricity cost. Update!...... I also now have 2 bikes at the house for your biking pleasure. One is a nice fixed gear Janis road bike and the other is a Chinese mountain bike. Nothing special but good for cruising around the neighborhood, which I find really fun! You may have to top off the tires and if you get a flat or leak, please fix it or get it fixed so the next user can enjoy it. There is a bike shop in town with parts, tubes and tube repair kits. Its name is "Bike Borrego" They also rent bikes if you don t like ours. Bring your own helmet!

Beautiful Spot!

We loved our stay here. It was comfortable with beautiful, well-kept grounds. We enjoyed the hot tub and the star gazing deck on the roof. The owner was also friendly and incredibly helpful. Lovely stay!

Lovely oasis in the desert

We were only able to stay one night in this beautiful home, but will try to make it our base for an extended stay next time we come to Borrego Springs. The location was excellent for our hiking adventures. The house itself is beautiful and very comfortable. The host communicated with us very well to make sure we were comfortable and our needs met.

Great Mid Century Home!!

This was a time capsule with an updated kitchen. The grounds were pristine as was the home itself. Our host, Charlie, was extremely affable and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Hi Susan. Thank you very much for your review. I apologize for the fact that I wash my linens with Tide Pods that have some scent. I’m happy to wash with unscented products, but it would help me to know in advance if that’s what a guest desires. Thanks again. Charlie.

Aurora Borealis from Borrego Springs!?

Our third trip to this house! Comfortable, quiet, safe and perfect for passion for shooting nightscape photography. The house and Charlie the host, could not be more easy! We were surprised to film the May 10th Solar Event from this house, look for the "Aurora Borrego" video online. We will return to this same place as often as possible. It is perfect for a couple or a small family! Thanks again Charlie for the hospitality and great place to escape to!

Great location and nice home. The property was lovely and relaxing. It does needs a bit of TLC. It would be helpful to have a binder/book with the explanations on how to operate things in the house. It would be more esthetically pleasing than the taped notes on the wall. We heard coyotes,owls, watched birds and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Lovely spot.

Hi Crispy. Thanks for your review and I’m glad you had a nice time. I do send detailed instructions to each guest and I am available 24 seven if you need my help with anything. The instructions are just next to the vertical blinds to help people avoid damaging them. I’m sorry if the aesthetic wasn’t appropriate and I will try to make some nicer signage. Back Again!

We had one of our best-times ever in Borrego, and our second or third time at this house, and a few times at other places owned/managed by Charlie who is the easiest host to work-with in our total experience of many places we have traveled and done VRBOing. New term! So- This house is ideal for relaxation and quiet and rest, but we are in our mid-60's now and like teenagers, prefer to ride our off-road electric scooters from the house to the furthest farm fields or down into town and up into the State Park. After riding 30 some miles the Jacuzzi in the back yard was awesome! This was the first really chilly night we ever had, so we finally enjoyed that feature. We met two other guests who are also frequent customers of Charlie's places, and it what a great thing to all have the same positive view of these homes and this host. Thanks again Charlie for a great time, we certainly will be coming back as long as we can!

A gem inside and out!

We truly enjoyed every minute of every day here. We typically camp so having the outdoor space with the bird feeders, the lawn and beautiful landscaping was amazing. The house is perfect and very thoughtfully stocked with anything you may need to cook a fantastic meal or simply enjoy a cup of tea. Cheers!

Everything you need

House had everything we needed for our stay including full size toiletries, extra towels, blankets, and kitchen accessories. There are no ceiling fans but there are tower fans available in each room and the air worked great. The roof deck is a nice addition. Was perfect for stargazing. The showers were clean but we preferred to have stronger shower heads.

Comfortable mid century in middle of oasis

Lovely home with front yard in green oasis and back in desert. Hot tub and star gazing deck both fun. House comfortable and very well equipped, Tv roku made it possible to watch football playoffs and movies. Highly recommend.

Borrego Springs getaway

We spent Thanksgiving in Borrego Springs and loved this property. The location is great - out of town but close enough to easily get dinner or stop at the store. The kitchen in the house was more than adequate for our holiday meal, and we loved the patio as well. Plenty of room for the bikes and the roof deck was the perfect spot for stargazing (even if it was a bit chilly). Easy access to hiking as well - all the outdoors things to do in Borrego Springs. Bed was comfortable and Charlie was a gem - easy to get in touch with and very helpful. We love the desert and we'll be back for another getaway, hopefully soon!

Our second time staying with Charles

We planned our trip to take advantage of the wonderful star gazing deck during two dark nights. I’ve never seen such a blanket of stars! The house is just great, a wonderful kitchen, patio, deck, and two super clean restrooms. Plus, I love the morning walks around DeAnza Country Club community-just beautiful! We will return again & again!

Comfortable house

Nicely renovated mid-century house. The house was clean and comfortable, nicely equipped. We wanted to be near the de Anza golf course and this house is right there. The owner made sure we got in the house ok and made himself available for any other questions/concerns (which we did not have). We thoroughly enjoyed our week there.
