Lovely apartment, bright and quiet in the heart of the historic district

Our apartment, completely renovated in 2016, will surprise you with its calm and brightness. We have specially furnished and decorated it, in a contemporary and sober style, to welcome you during your stays in Lyon. It got the 3 star rating. Its large windows offering a beautiful panoramic view of Lyon and, in good weather, of the Alps, bring in a lot of light. The fully equipped kitchen opens onto the living room with a bar where it is pleasant to have a drink. The bathroom decorated with stone, wood and ceramic has a large walk-in shower and a large washbasin. The 2 bedrooms have dressing rooms and offices. In the living room, a 3-seater convertible sofa and 2 armchairs await you for a well-deserved break after visiting the traboules or the antique theatre. You will quickly feel at home.
Located in the heart of the district classified as a UNESCO heritage site, you will not need a car to visit Lyon, its historic district, the peninsula and even reach the new confluence district and its museum by river shuttle. The apartment is close to many restaurants, theaters and cinemas but also to the Perrache train station, the old Lyon metro station is 300m away. However, if you are motorized, the St Georges car park is 2 steps away.
Apartment dedicated to family stays preferably. Groups of young people are in principle not authorized following a bad experience. Thank you for your understanding.

This apartment is ideally situated for exploring all parts of Lyon, either on foot or by public transport. The accomodation is quite charming and fully equipped, and the hosts have provided a welcoming environment.

Great location

A cute apartment within walking distance of everything! I walked to the outdoor market along the river almost daily. The hill to the apartment is fairly steep but the location makes up for it. Apartment itself has a ton of natural light and is clean.

We stayed here for 4 weeks- a perfect location, lovely host, everything we needed - and the bonus was keeping fit walking up the steepish hill each evening.

We had a really pleasant stay in this lovely apartment in Vieux Lyon, located just across the St George bridge. Attractively decorated, very clean and tidy, and stocked with necessities. Compact, yet comfortable for four people.The cobbled streets of the old town are charming - lined with traditional restaurants, great bakeries, and additionally fresh food snd antique markets on both banks of the Soane River. Easily walkable to interesting sights in Vieux Lyon, including two ancient Roman amphitheatres and the Fouvriere basilica on the hill dating from the late 1800s - pleasant places to see late afternoon when the basilica’s facade is illuminated by the last rays of sunlight. There, from the nearby viewing platform one can look down upon the city of Lyon and its rivers laid out like a map below.A must for anyone interested in art is a visit to the musee des Beaux Artes - France’s second major art museum. Also the city quarter with numerous jewellery, craft, and art ateliers stocking genuinely locally made products. Thanks to our obliging hosts and the accomodation we had a really enjoyable holiday in Lyon.

Great area

We stayed at this awesome 2 bedroom flat and really enjoyed the access to Vieux Lyon, St. Just and the metro and transit connections. I would stay here again without a doubt !

A cosy apartment in a quiet neighbourhood

We enjoyed the stay. We had two bedrooms on the top (second) floor. It was very quiet (no noise from neighbors).

Wonderful!

We enjoyed the location and view of the rental. Our family of 4 from US comfortably fit in rental. Very convenient location. TV was nonfunctional - our only issue. Would stay here again!

Wonderful Old Lyon

This apartment is absolutely perfect, and is in a perfect location in Vieux Lyon. Two bedrooms made it the perfect spot for my daughter and me to be very comfortable. We are both very athletic and fit, and we quite enjoyed the short uphill walk to the apartment.

Lovely flat in the old town

This lovely flat is perfect for a small family or couple to enjoy while staying in Lyon. We were very impressed with how clean the flat was and the location couldn't have been better. Christiane & Thierry were very helpful with our trip details and with our arrival. They couldn't have been nicer, thank you. I would highly recommend this flat for a stay while in Lyon.

Lovely central apartment with great views

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the heart of Old Lyon (Vieux Lyon). The apartment is tucked away in a nice quiet street, a short walk to restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and supermarkets. It is very comfortable, loads of space and has great views of the area. Christiane and Thierry are fabulous hosts, who communicated quickly with us and provided great information on what to do in the area. We felt at home in their unit and would stay again.

Séjour à Lyon

A wonderful apartment in the old town so close to everything. Christiane was an amazing host going way beyond what was expected to help us. The steep street may be daunting for some but was manageable. Would highly recommend this apartment .

Super appartment centrally located

We were mother, father and two sons (6 and 10). The appartment was highly suitable for us and our purpose. Well equipped og extremely well located for a visit in and around Lyon. We were warmly and efficiently welcomed and informed by the the hosts Christiana and Thierry. We highly recommend this appartment for a copule or, as in our case, a small family. If travelling by car make space in your budget for high parking costs in the city. Family Kleinbeck, Copenhagen

Great location. Steep hill.

Well situated but it is an attic so you need to be careful of sloping ceilings. Well equipped but one large and one small towel each for 7 days was a bit mean. Also the towels were quite old. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay. Taxis cannot drive to the door as it is a narrow steep street for residents only. You have to walk your luggage down to the main street.

Recommended with caveats

We liked it, despite many reasons not to, and we liked Christiane and Thierry. We were there all of October, 2022. The street is steep. You can catch the funicular to the Roman ruins at the nearby metro stop and walk down the 144 (!) steps at the top of the street; still easier than walking up. Google map it. When we arrived, they apologized and said we were the first after a long-term pandemic renter who had been slovenly, so they were still cleaning. We left our bags and returned hours later. It wasn’t enough. We spent most of a day cleaning it ourselves. They were very friendly and did their best, but seemed overwhelmed by how bad it was. Looking back, they should have gotten us a hotel room for a day and finished up. Then we saw mice. When informed, they immediately brought in traps and poison, and later a professional. Sadly, we were responsible for tending the traps and cleaning up after les souris. We caught six. The last two weeks of our stay there were no signs. The furniture in the living room is frankly in need of replacement. The rest of the furniture, including the beds, was fine and comfortable. We asked for and they provided new sheets, towels, pillows, etc. The lighting in the building stairwell was good going up due to a timed switch at the bottom, but there was no switch at the top for going down! The kitchen was poorly equipped. We gave them a list of items and they provided them all right away. One of the burners on the gas stove did not work properly; we didn’t need it. The shower drain smelled a little sewer-like in the mornings; it probably needed a heavy dose of bleach. The apartment is close to the river, the metro, a wonderful open air market, good restaurants, cafes, bakeries, shops, pubs, and a creperie. The Roman ruins were an easy funicular ride. There was no traffic so it was wonderfully quiet. We could open the windows and hear the sounds of people on the street below and children in a park a couple of blocks away. The view standing at the windows was grand. On cold days the apartment heater kept us very comfortable. The on-demand water heater gave unlimited hot water, for the best shower I’ve had in Europe. The clothes washer and drying rack were good. The kitchen was very usable and we cooked some delicious meals. If the apartment had been properly clean and equipped from the start, we would have enjoyed it a lot. We hope the owners will take the remaining steps to make it right.

Thank you Paul for leaving a review. It's true that when you arrived, the apartment had just been rented for several months to a family that was friendly but not very careful. This is the first time that we have rented for a long period but we will not repeat this experience. You arrived around 3:00 p.m. to leave your luggage then you picked up the apartment around 4:00 p.m. Many apartments are only accessible in the afternoon. That day we did 3 hours of cleaning with 3 people, which represents 9 hours of cleaning in total, so I am surprised that you had to clean again after that, the apartment seemed clean to us after these 9 hours of housework. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused by the mice but we intervened immediately to remedy the problem as quickly as possible. To compensate you, we have not charged you for replacing the key you lost. We have also closed our eyes to the 2 people who joined you in the apartment and who were not declared initially. We do what is necessary to ensure that the apartment is always clean and comfortable for the arrival of our tenants, and we have been rewarded by the reviews left by our last tenants who stayed at the end of November and in December.

Fijn appartement. Goede locatie aan de rand van het oude centrum. Rustig gelegen. Voldoende opbergruimte. Laatste stuk naar het appartement is goed voor de beenspieren. Wellicht minder handig met veel of zware bagage. Mooi uitzicht over de stad.

Séjour touristique de 10 jours. Très bien localisé dans le vieux Lyon. Les propriétaires étaient sur place à notre arrivée et ont été rapide à répondre à nos demandes. Pour se rendre à l'appartement la rue est très pentue ce qui nous a permis de maintenir la forme.

Emplacement idéal pour accès au métro et à la ville

Nous sommes restés dans cet appartement pendant une canicule record pendant tous notre voyages. Bien que la salle n’est pas climatisée, les hôtes nous ont fournis un refroidisseur pour aider. Mais la nuit tombée, il y avait toujours un beau vent de fraîcheur qui venait par les fenêtres donnant sur la ville. La télé et internet ont plus aux enfants, et la bouteille de vin proposée était délicieuse. Petit astuce pour éviter la cote… prenez le funiculaire…. Est plus facile descendre que de la remonter :). Merci 1000 fois Thierry !

Au calme dans le vieux Lyon

Bien placé dans une des extrémités du vieux Lyon et pas loin du métro l appartement permet de profiter de la ville sans avoir le flot de touristes dans la rue. Une montée un peu raide pour les derniers mètres mais la vue de l appartement est une bonne récompense.

Séjour idyllique à lyon

Appartement plus que conforme à nos attentes.Très bien situé dans le quartier du vieux Lyon. Près du métro. Pas besoin de voitures. Et quel plaisir après une journée très chargée de retrouver le calme dans cet appartement. Je recommande vivement.

Bon emplacement

Appartement très bien placé dans le vieux Lyon par contre pas adapté aux personnes âgées ou avec une mauvaise activité physique. Les rues pour arriver à la porte d'entrée sont très pentues, pas d'accès par véhicule. Sinon appartement correct, propre, sans bruit, très belle vue sur Lyon. A conseiller.
