The living area is furnished with plenty of seating for the whole family. The beautiful rustic dining table has seating for everyone to enjoy island dinners. The kitchen is equipped with all the comforts of home including extras like a dishwasher. Enjoy the island breezes on the deck in the porch swing and other seating overlooking the beach. A gas grill is available for cookouts. The Gulf beaches are just a short walk away down the quiet streets.

The house was clean, the deck was great, and the location was superb! The house is in need of updating and repairs: holes in walls, hairdryer with broken plug exposing live wires, towels threadbare and stained, stove burner pans need replaced, front shower head leaks at connection, cannot take showers in each bathroom at the same time, beach chairs rusted, mattresses very saggy and uncomfortable.

Great location

Home was more cottage style and could use a few updates. Beds were not excellent but I didn’t lose sleep over it. Overall, the location was great and it served us well.

Loved it for the most part

I loved the view. It was clean. My kids enjoyed themselves. The mattresses could use some updates and the AC could use some work, the shower heads weren’t the best but other than that I would rent again!!

Perfect location

Great view of the bay and a short walk to the gulf side. The place was clean and comfortable. Only complaint was the mattresses. Like other reviews have said they are pretty bad. I’d at least recommend a mattress topper if nothing else.

It was okay for the price. I would not pay nothing more than what I paid for a 3 night stay.

Love the idea for placing your name and distance traveled but a rotary tool, wood or permanent markers were not available for use. Love the fact the water was in your backyard but wished it had a dock to walk out on.

Beautiful location but that's it.

The view and location of this home was amazing. But that's it. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation this will not be it. I should have listened to some of the other reviews about that beds but though maybe they were just hard.... Definitely not the case, the beds in this property were so bad we had to go out and buy air mattresses. The furniture is not comfortable at all and the patio furniture is awful as well. I will not be staying in this home again unless furniture and beds are updated. I get that this is probably one of the cheaper properties but that doesn't excuse the awful beds. There were permanent body indents in both beds. Definitely not the "relaxing" vacation I was hoping for.

Great house and location

This beautiful house was in the perfect location right on the bay, with a little beach area right out the back door. And only a short walk to the Gulf. Although we didn't even go to the gulf side the whole week we were there. The beach area behind the house was perfect for the grandkids. No big waves...no seaweed and not deep until you walked way out. The area was perfect also. Not crowded...and we were there Memorial Weekend. The only traffic you have to worry about is the occasional slow golf cart. The restaurants were amazing. This was our first time coming here. And definitely my new spot.

Quiet with incredible view

I usually stay on the Gulf side of Dauphin Island. This is my first rental on the bay side and I was pleasantly pleased with the view and peaceful calming location. Keyless entry was very difficult to use when entering the front door.... My hands are large and could barely push the complex number sequence without pressing more then one button at a time. I would go here again for sure.

Get a new stove... ever burner was totally unlevel.... no steak knives. We had to go out and buy som

House was clean.... need new stove... ever burner was unlevel.... bed was terrible lots amd lots of peeling paint.... how about getting some good knives...... only 2 knives and those 2 wouldnt cut a peanut butter sandwich.... upgrade some things to this home...

Nothing grand about little gramd hotel

This is the first house my family has stayed at in Dauphin Island I would not recommend renting to anyone. Everything is old and outdated and needs to be upgraded. All of the mattresses in every room needs to be replaced. There was not a good frying pan to even cook an egg in. Would not rent this place again

Little Grand

LOVED the views! Lots of room & large deck Beach just off the deck. Beds uncomfortable & dishwasher broken. Very outdated. Air conditioner didn’t cool but part of the time but the weather was cool so it didn’t matter as much as it would have if we had been here during the hot months. Have to lift up on door to lock & unlock because it’s not level. The views & the quiet made all these issues not matter so much but I wouldn’t rent this house again in the future.

Location was great. But had some issues. First bathroom would not drain so take a shower and have water to your calf's. Then the weather changed and heater was not working just keep it at 59 degrees in the house with 3 little ones. Had to go buy 4 heaters and a hotel room. Water froze up even though we had the water running. Ended up with broken pipes and no hot water since the hot water tank froze , after it unfroze still just hardly warm water came out could not take a shower. With all that and all my phone calls no help. It was frustrating! Usually when I rent a place they have maybe some salt and pepper in the cupboards nothing was in this house. So if you think there is anything extra in this house nothing all cleaned out. Best part was location

My friend and I just returned home from this place. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The host, Vacasa, was outstanding! It was clean and more than we expected as far as the closeness to the bay and gulf beach. We fished and then walked to the beach. The only thing that could be a negative is there was no dishwashing pods or liquid. No detergent for the washer. But we brought both. Our trip was excellent!

Location is fabulous!! The house is clean and very comfortable! Host thought of everything a vacationer would need! Short walk to the other side of the island! The only thing I would recommend is an update on the mattresses! We had a great time! Thank you

Worst experience ever it was 80 degrees in the house called 4 different times about it they came out one and said drain was stopped up vacuumed it out and said it was fine ended up leaving a day early family was over trying to sleep with it being so hot inside house won’t be back

Beautiful

Loved the views. The outdoor furniture is scarce now. With a picnic table and 2 chairs. The mattresses were uncomfortable and the shower heads kinda sucked. But other than that we loved it. Loved being on the water. It was quiet and relaxing.

Perfect place for what you’re paying

This house is your typical, old dauphin island house. It honestly wouldn’t take much to make it sooo much better. But the cheap price easy beach(bay) access definitely outweighs the negative things. Ultimately, we would for sure stay here again because it was sooo easy with the kids. The sunsets from the deck are BEAUTIFUL! Updating some aspects of the deck would be my top recommendation. I listed some things to note below! Inside: as previous reviews mentioned, there are very minimal cooking supplies/tools. There was one knife that was *almost* sharp enough to cut a lemon. Thankfully, we went into this knowing all of that, so we packed accordingly and brought pre-cooked meals that were easy to just stick in the oven. I can’t imagine trying to cook a meal in there. There were lots of reviews complaining about the mattresses, but we didn’t find them uncomfortable at all! There are no rugs anywhere, unfortunately, to help with the sound of the floor and help catch some of the leftover sand. The vacuum is from the stone ages. A simple little vacuum would’ve helped so much - I was not about to sweep the whole house the entire week. The washer machine runs, but it definitely does not clean. Our clothes were the same as when we put them in, just wet. Outside: There is no porch swing, the deck is very sketchy in places, and there is little to no seating on the deck. All around where the bbq pit is is pretty disgusting. The hose desperately needs to be replaced!

Perfect Honeymoon spot

My wife and i wanted a nice quiet stay with a breath taking view and we got just that. Very quaint house, very minimalistic, but well spaced out. Private beach on the bay side and minutes feom everything.
