Beautiful downstairs open floor post and beam house located in the heart of the Mad River Valley. This 2000 sq ft. 4 Br, 2 BA house is perfectly situated on over 20 acres of private land with mountain views allowing for year-round outdoor family activities. The house is just minutes from the Inn at the Round Barn. Warren and Waitsfield villages are close by for shopping and dining. Sugarbush and Mad River Ski Areas are 15 minutes drive. Property abuts Ole's Cross Country Ski trails and allows for fantastic XC skiing, snowshoeing, sledding in winter and mountain biking, hiking, river rafting, fly fishing, golf, and tennis in summer.

Large covered deck and porch for fabulous outdoor entertaining in the summer and on warm fall nights. Terrific star gazing all year round!

Great weekend getaway

My wife and I had a wedding in the area. This was a perfect place to turn the wedding into a weekend getaway for our family.

Great location

We had a wedding at Round Barn and Bryce’s home worked perfectly for our group. I am sure the home would be wonderful during ski season too.

Overall our experience was disappointing. The location of the house is terrific the house has lots of potential but the amenities need improving. Having reached out to the host in advanced, never received the information on how to entered the property and had to contact VRBO directly. While linens are provided guests have to make the beds on arrival. Towels are provided but only one wash cloth could be found and many of the towels are old and stained. The house had an infestation of cluster flys, dead flys in the bathroom and window sills. Our dinner plans had to be abandoned as the kitchen oven made the entire house smell like gas. No working smoke detectors in the house. A camera in the living room was uncomfortable and we had to turn it towards the wall and put a cloth over it, not sure if conversations were still able to be heard. I didn’t think VRBO allowed interior cameras. In general new bedding is needed in this house. Several blankets and comforters have rips and stains including mattress covers. Dust and more dead flies under the bed too. Several light bulbs were out. Had to reach out to the host to get the driveway plowed after getting 8 inches of snow, Not clear on what to do with garbage, VRBO app said to take the garbage to the dump and the instructions on the refrigerator said to put the garbage in the bins, there were no bins; we took the garage to the dump. In general, this was probably the most disappointing house I have ever rented.

Great Spot

My family and I had a great weekend skiing and hiking in the area. House is in a great location, not too far from town or the mountain. Had a great time, and will be back again next year!

Great Vermont Ski Getaway

Bryce’s home is clean, well appointed and close to great skiing at Sugarbush and Mad River Glen. My family enjoyed a wonderful weekend on the slopes and then warming up in front of the fireplace.

Picturesque Vermont

Tucked away in the woods, the location is beautiful. Located off the main road so very peaceful. The house is open and cozy with a great fireplace and well laid out for our family of 5 grown teens/adults. The furnishings and decor made us feel instantly comfortable.

perfect escape

We loved the secluded setting in the woods, and the rustic feel of the home, well constructed and designed, very cozy. Couldn't imagine a better spot for our Thanksgiving dinner with family. The owners were extremely attentive to any questions and needs. We recommend very highly, and hoping to go back for some skiing!

Cozy Mountain House

Very nice house in a great location. Between Warren & Waitsfield, and close to Sugarbush. It has a nice fireplace and lots of beds, open kitchen, perfect for families and a big group. Close to great restaurants, farmers market and swimming holes ... but nestled in the woods away from it all. We can't wait to come back in the winter!

Beautiful Ski Chalet

Great chalet located within 15 minutes of Sugarbush ski resort. The house is modern and cozy located down a beautiful secluded driveway. It easily accommodated 6 of us but could also work for later groups of 10-12 if willing to share bedrooms. The property owner Bruce was very welcoming and responsive. I would definitely rebook this property if returning in the future.

Cozy mountain cabin

We had a wonderful time staying in this home. It has a great layout with a large mudroom and hooks to keep out the cold and ski stuff. The fireplace makes the whole house super cozy with plenty of dry wood stacked right outside the door. Just a few mins to Waitesfield and 15 mins to Mad River glen or Sugarbush. We also enjoyed xcountry skiing at Oles around the corner. Bruce was very responsive and helpful. I hope to come back to visit again.

Secluded House in an Awesome Town!

We could not have asked for a better rental. The property owners are super nice and quick to help with any questions you have about the house. For example, we had trouble connecting to WiFi and using the garbage disposal, and they got back to us right away to help. The house is clean, the yard is fairly big and fun, and both Waitsfield and Warren is beautiful towns with great hikes, restaurants and other things to do. The house would be great to rent in any season throughout the year!

Great house + not managed nearby(?) = Stressful trip

The house itself and location are great. Unfortunately, we just had issue after issue that I think would be resolved if someone checked on the house prior to arrival. There was a big snowstorm ~3 days before & the drive wasn't plowed (~16 inches of snow) so we stupidly tried to get through and our car got stuck halfway, blocking it for the other cars. Eventually we were able to push the stuck car out. The plow person surprised us by showing up at 10 pm that night so a bunch of us had rush out to reverse the cars and wait on the road. The other stressful issue for everyone was the house's heat not working. It took us maybe an hour to realize it wasn't turning on / getting warm and then another hour for the homeowner to get back to us after texting, calling, and messaging on vrbo. We were thankful the owner was able to have a plumber arrive to help us a few hours later (after we spent an hour or so looking for a key to basement / in the basement guessing which reset button to touch). Unfortunately, because the house was then working in overdrive to warm up the oven couldn't get hot enough to cook our dinner that night (frozen pizzas) so that took some improvising. The cleanliness issue was dozens of dead and dying flies in the bedrooms, upstairs bathroom, and living area that I cleaned up throughout the trip. Luckily for kid's promised movie night we had an ipad because TV remote didn't work. Any trip with little ones and elderly parents can be stressful but this was extra.

A Waitsfield Wonder

We stayed at the house for our annual ski trip to the Mad River Valley and it was fantastic. So much so that I almost DON'T want to leave a review in order to keep this a hidden gem. The house slept our group comfortably, plenty of storage for ski gear when you come in, an open but comfortable kitchen/dining/relaxing area. The wood stove & wifi were simply bonuses for a relaxing couple of days off the grid. The owners were responsive to questions before the trip and made the entire experience as relaxing as we had hoped. Thank you for sharing your home!

Great ski weekend.

We had an excellent ski weekend with some friends. The property was very cozy. The pictures do not do it justice I was very impressed with the woodwork in the home. Check in and check out was easy and the location was lovely.

Great ski house

We had a great week at this house over the New Years holiday- skied at mad river glen and sugarbush and enjoyed the great amenities of the mad river valley and the beautiful location of this House. The property is excluded with land for the kids to play but super convenient to everything. The house was even better than the photos and the property owner was accommodating and easy to communicate with. Would rent this house again without hesitation.

Fantastic stay at beautiful timber frame home nestled in the woods of Waitsfield/Warren

We had a wonderful stay at this quintessential Vermont country home and would strongly recommend to others. The fire place is was terrific and the proximity to the cross country trails was ideal. We had four girls under the age of four who all had a great time and didn’t want to leave (neither did the parents).

Great house

It was perfect for our family. We skied for three days. Finished their large puzzle on the table, had fires and it slept 9 comfortably! Definitely a repeat rental!
