Contemporary Hillside Chalet

Built in 1988, this welcoming, comfortable and secluded three level home has a large open floor plan with stunning westerly views of Sugarbush South, Mt. Ellen, Mad River Glen and Camel Hump State Park. On the main floor there is a floor to-ceiling double-sided granite fireplace and cathedral ceilings. Includes a terrific wrap-around deck. The kitchen is fully equipped for all styles of meal prep. There is a master bedroom with a king size bed and full bathroom on the main floor as well.
On the ground level, there are four spacious bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms have queen beds and 1 bedroom has twin beds. Walk out access from two of the bedrooms on the lower level with impressive mountain views.

The house was perfect for our family ski trip to Sugarbush - Glenn was always available to answer any questions and provided lots of info about the house and the Mad River Valley - the beds were comfortable and the house was well stocked for our stay - the very charming town of Waitsfield was a few minutes from the house - you even get to go over a covered bridge to get there - and it was an easy drive to the mountain - couldn't ask for more!

Great house, stayed here during winter break, plenty of room, heat worked great, the views through the main windows were beautiful looking right out at Sugar Bush and Mad River Glen ski areas across the valley. The kitchen was a little dated but everything worked fine, so no real complaints. The garage was really helpful given the amount of snowfall during the time we were there, never really had to clean off our car which was a big plus. Owner was very responsive to all inquiries. The fireplace was my favorite, and the space was idea for my family and my sisters family to do a joint holiday together. Itā€™s at the top of a hill, so during snowy season 4wd cars are a must, but worth it for the view. Town is only a 5 min drive away with a grocery store and other amenities/activities that were helpful for both young kids and adults.

Excellent chalet for a large family weekend. We stayed in the summer. Great views from the deck and perfect socializing areas. Beds were very comfortable. The property is very secluded but not too far from town. Up a few dirt roads and then a gravel driveway. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful Sugarbush Property

We had a wonderful stay at this vacation home! The highlight was the stunning fireplace, which became the heart of our gatherings each evening. The house was incredibly spacious, easily accommodating our large group, and the beautiful cathedral ceilings added an elegant and airy touch to the space. To top it all off, the views were absolutely breathtaking, adding to the overall charm and tranquility of the property.The owner was fantastic to deal withā€”very friendly, responsive, and accommodating, which made the entire booking and stay stress-free.The only downside was that linens werenā€™t provided, which required some extra planning on our part. It would have been more convenient if they were included.Overall, we loved our experience and would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a cozy yet spacious retreat with amazing views!

Cozy ski cabin for college friend reunion

We had such a great time staying at this VRBO. It was great location to drive to Sugarbush, grab something at the grocery store or stop at Lawsons. Driveway is steep and needed to be plowed for us to get up, but a plow guy was very close by and able to do that for us within an hour. Very cozy cabin, great for big groups.

Nice location for Sugarbush and other central Vermont sights!

Overall we were very happy with the house, especially the check in and out process. My only issue is the clarity of the online listing. When I selected this property I thought linens and towels were included based on a statement on the listing, but I apparently missed the smaller line on the room specific page that said they were not. We had to scramble before we left home to bring towels and sheets for our guests once I received the email from the host reminding us they weren't provided. I would recommend making the listing clearer that towels and sheets are NOT provided, up front and not buried in the listing. While it might be easy for people driving to bring these, it was a bit difficult for us given that we flew from Florida, and our guests came from Nebraska and Texas. Overall, it was great place to stay with incredible views of the Sugarbush ski slopes, and excellent centralized location. I would certainly stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Glenn's house. It worked very well for our family with four adult children and their partners. It was spacious, with great views of Sugarbush and Mount Ellen. We really enjoyed sitting out on the porch. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped.

Winter Stay

We had a great time staying here, it was super easy to access, and communicate with Glen. The driveway is steep so if you do not have a reliable car in the snow, be careful. The rooms were clean, the kitchen had everything we needed to fuel up before skiing. We built a fire and it was so coxy/relaxing. I would book here agin.

Beautiful ski house

We had such a nice stay here! The communication was great and the house is lovely. There is a huge fireplace thatā€™s all set up and easy to use, beautiful views of the ski mountains, and plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. We had 8 adults all housed very comfortably, and we cooked several meals and enjoyed them together at the big table. The couch is super comfy, the sound system is a nice touch, and the dryer is clutch for wet ski clothes. We hesitated at first about having to bring our own linens, but it turned out to be easy and so worth it!

Lovely rustic house with beautiful views

Really enjoyed our stay at the chalet. The location couldn't be better, with beautiful views from the picture windows in the living area and porch, and only ~10 minutes drive from town. The house comfortably fit the 8 of us (with room to spare), and Glenn communicated everything super clearly so we had everything we needed during our stay. The only suggestion I'd have is it'd be great if the house came with linens/towels and soap/shampoo. No fault of the current listing as it's clear these aren't offered (and Glenn sent a friendly reminder in advance) but it definitely made the stay a bit more challenging for us given we were all flying in from across the country. Overall had a great stay and would happily come back next time I'm in the area!

family vacation

Had a short but enjoyable family vacation at Glenn's property. Grandparents got the master suite and the rest of us were downstairs. It was very comfortable and the views are great! Waitsfield is conveniently located at the foot of the hill. The Von Trapp store sold local meat and cheese which was really cool. Glenn was accommodating with check in and check out times.

Perfect home

This house was perfect for us, we had a mix of adults (40s), young adults (early 20s), and young teens. The kitchen was well stocked with any pot, pan, or utensil we needed, down to the flat top for the stove! And a gas grill! Gorgeous mountain views from the living room/ dining room! Large deck that was perfect for morning coffee and watching sunsets in the evening. Love love love the house! One of the young teens loved ringing the gong when meals were ready :).

Graduation weekend in Vermont

We were in the area for our sonā€™s graduation from Norwich University. The 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms allowed our group plenty of space to spread out. Our older guests were grateful for a bedroom suite on the main floor. The large dining table was perfect for a celebratory meal after graduation. The views of Sugar Bush canā€™t be beat! Communication with the landlord was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much!
