De gĆ®te is gezellig, rustiek, en basic ingericht . Ze voldeed volledig aan onze verwachtingen volgens verhouding prijs-kwaliteit. We voelden er ons meteen thuis. Het was er wel ontzettend warm op de slaapkamers, maar er heerste dan ook een hittegolf. In het dorpje Le Chalard kregen we gratis een rondleiding bij het middeleeuwse kerkje en de monnikenbegraafplaats. Le MusĆ©e de l'Or was ook heel interessant om eens te bezoeken. Voor andere bezienswaardigheden moet je wel even rijden, maar er is binnen een straal van 60 km heel veel moois te zien, zoals het kasteel van Hautefort , SĆ©gur-le-ChĆ¢teau, ,gorges de l'AuvĆ©zĆØre, grotte de Villars, grotte de Tourtoirac.. Ook Oradour-sur-Glane hebben we bezocht. Keuze genoeg. EĆ©n belangrijk puntje wat het huisje betreft : de trap is even wennen ,charmant en origineel dat zeker, maar niet echt geschikt voor kinderen .Dit is wel belangrijk om even te vermelden. Voor de rest een fantastische plek , het vriendelijke hondje van de eigenaars die op het domein wonen, komt af en toe eens op bezoek en daar keken wij elke dag naar uit. . wat een lieverd ! We hebben een mooie vakantie beleefd met deze fijne verblijfsplek als uitvalsbasis.

Le gĆ®te est trĆØs bien adaptĆ©e pour une famille de 3. On s'est tout de suite senti chez nous. C'est trĆØs calme, au cœur d'un environnement naturel. Marcus et sa famille sont trĆØs sympathiques, c'est trĆØs apprĆ©ciable. En plus, il y avait quelque chose qui nous attendait Ć  notre arrivĆ©e.

Hele fijne plek om rustig bij te komen na voor ons hectische periode. Het huisje is een deel van een van de schuren en is simpel maar beschikt over alles wat je nodig hebt. Een beetje gehorig huisje met dunne houten vloer maar fantastisch genoten. Je zit hier tussen de weilanden en bossen met verschillende kleine dorpjes in de buurt. Bakker 4 minuten rijden, winkels 15 minuten, Limoges is een leuke plaats om te bezoeken en verschillende kasteeltjes zijn we aangegaan. Ook een zwemmeer hebben we meerdere malen bezocht. Bij dit zwemmeer zit ook een klimbos, midgetgolf en velo rail. Wij zouden hier zeker nog een keer kunnen terugkeren!

Le silence de la nature

Un endroit idƩal pour profiter du calme de la nature. La maison est vraiment charmante et dƩcorƩe avec beaucoup de goƻt. Une dƩco simple, ƩpurƩe, ƩlƩgante. La partie nuit (en haut) est bien sƩparƩe de la partie de vie, ce qui est pratique. Jardin agrƩable. Et il y a un trampoline dans la grange, les filles ont adorƩ !!!

We verbleven er 16 juni t/m 30 juni 2018 We hadden fantastisch weer, 2 weken rond de 30 graden, strakblauwe luchten. Het uitzicht en de ruimte om het huisje is prima. Er waren wat mankementen die voordat gasten arriveren opgelost hadden moeten zijn. Het is een oude boerderij met dito inboedel. Bank en fauteuils zakken door. Verder wel schoon en netjes op het tuinmeubilair na. Bedden zijn voor lange Nederlanders te kort en tweepersoons te smal,matrassen goed. Aanrader neem Deet mee voor buiten zitten. Wij werden letterlijk opgevreten door vliegen komend van tegenover gelegen vee schuur. Weinig in de directe omgeving te doen. Goede bakker in Ladingnac le Long 2 min met de auto. Als we kritisch zijn, dan is er wat achterstallig onderhoud en hebben een aantal zaken aandacht nodig anders is de prijs niet in verhouding met wat er geboden wordt. Eigenaresse heel aardig en behulpzaam, we konden het niet vinden en ze heeft voorruit gereden vanuit dorpje. Top!

Charmant huisje, fantastische ligging, gastvrije welkom, heel fijn de handdoek en beddengoed service. Inrichting is typisch Frans en basic. Veel natuur en geschiedenis in de nabije omgeving. De dorpjes en de omgeving zijn heel rustig. Zeer geschikt voor rustzoekers en natuurliefhebbers.

Ein schƶn eingerichtetes Haus in idyllischer Lage mit freundlichen Vermietern. KĆ¼che und Bad sind recht einfach eingerichtet, die steile Treppe ist etwas gewƶhnungsbedĆ¼rftig. Der Hund der Besitzer ist entzĆ¼ckend, auch die HĆ¼hner, die Gans und die Eidechsen gefielen uns - weniger allerdings die vielen Fliegen und der manchmal penetrante Landgeruch, aber das gehƶrt wahrscheinlich zum Landleben dazu...

Ondanks het slechte weer toch mooie vakantie gehad, is een erg mooie streek. De stilte is er oorverdovend. Onze jonge hond was er super zen. Heel fijne 'huisbazen' geven goede tips en lopen je niet voor de voeten. Een aanrader. De locatie is minder geschikt voor ouderen of mensen die slecht te been zijn door de steile en smalle trap naar de slaapkamers.

Tranquility and calm in remote rural location but close to good supermarkets.

We knew nothing about the Limousin region and chose to go there as we flew from Bristol to Limoges which made an easy journey. We ended up falling in love with the whole area. As it was the Autumn we saw the glorious trees in their all gorgeous glowing colours. There are woods full of chestnut trees, winding roads with hardly any traffic leading to beautiful towns and villages. October is very much out of season and this area is quite uncommercialised anyway and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. La Forge du Bessous seems to be in a very 'off-the-beaten-track' place but it turned out to be well placed for many trips all around. It is also very close to Yrieix-la-Perche a pretty town which has all the shops you could wish for and even a farmers market. We didn't go far from the gite but did explore Perigeuex, (very beautiful) and our favourite village was Segur le Chateau. We like walking and found various footpaths around and about. It is a perfect area for cycling too. The accommodation is very attractive and comfortable, having access to UK tv was quite a luxury and the wifi is good. Marcus the host was totally charming, kind and helpful. He was able to provide endless wood for the massive log burner which was a welcome extra and fun. The central heating is good though and the woodburner wasn't necessary but great if you like a fire. Pet chickens roam about the garden, and we enjoyed seeing them. A basket of their fresh eggs was there to welcome us as was a nice bottle of wine. The kitchen is well laid out and although small is very practical. It was lovely to be able to sit outside where there is ample sitting and dining space. I am an artist and found plenty to inspire me in the garden and all around. We would definitely recommend this place. However, one tip....the access to the upstairs is via a very steep staircase, for anyone wobbly on their legs! We will definitely be looking forward to returning.
