Modern Rustic 4 BR Black Hills Sanctuary with hot tub and Shared Heated Pool!

Can you imagine kicking your feet up by the fire in this wonderful modern rustic home-away-from-home? Aspen View Lodge is certainly one of those cabins you'll remember for years to come. This beautiful 4 bedroom custom built cabin is located in the highly popular Gilded Mountain area with great scenery and wildlife that frequent the area. You couldn't be in a better location, as you're in the heart of the Northern hills recreational corridor. You can be skiing at Terry Peak in less than 5 minutes, ride your ATV/Snowmobile from the property to connect to the Mickelson trail and larger trail system, or cruising through the rimrock canyon walls of Spearfish Canyon in 5 minutes. Don't forget Deadwood is only 10 minutes away with taxi service to Aspen View Lodge and you can be viewing Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, and Keystone in under an hours drive.

After exploring throughout your vacation, coming home to the cabin will be the best part. With peaceful views from the deck area, a secluded back yard area bordering forest service, and a hot tub with a view of the stars, your vacation will be complete. The cabin is decorated rustically throughout, and includes custom log furniture to complete that log cabin feel. There's flat screen TVs in all 4 bedrooms, heated tile floors in the entryway, a stone accented fireplace in the living area and includes WiFi to stay connected. The open kitchen is great for entertaining with seating for up to 12 and there's a total of 4 bedrooms - 2 bedrooms are upstairs with queen beds, while the other 2 are on the lower level with a queen bed and a twin bunkbed. There's also a futon in the loft to complete the ability to sleep up to 12.

One of the best parts - you also get access to the shared clubhouse. With amenities like a shared heated pool, sauna, fitness room, wet bar, pool table and 2 more hot tubs, your whole group will have many things to enjoy after your days finding local adventures. Cozy getaway with everything we wanted!

We really enjoyed this cabin and would rent it again. It was perfect for eight of us: my husband and me, our four kids, and my parents. The place was cozy and decorated well. We loved the private hot tub at ground level, and everything there was to do in the community lodge. My kids were pretty excited to get to swim outside in March!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Not a lot to complain about! We had a great time. Just a couple minor things-Maybe just look into some new appliances like coffee pot, it took close to 30 mins to brew a pot of coffee because the drip was so slow. Also, maybe put a list of which TV stations and channel numbers are available(would be nice to have kids station like Nick or Disney for days when we were just relaxing at the cabin) Otherwise the pool was great and the cabin had lots of room to gather and plenty of room to relax individually which was nice with 9 people!!

Great Place

We loved our stay here. The cabin was perfect for all 6 of us, and the location can’t be beat for getting out and exploring the area. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. The hot tub didn’t work for the majority of our stay, but we went to the lodge to use the two they had which were fantastic.

Cabin was clean and great location would highly recommend.

We had a great time ! The cabin was so clean and hot tub was great added bonus after long days sightseeing . Close to town and Deadwood. Made it convenient for groceries , ice and gas.

Kids loved it

when vacationing my kids want a pool, having a private hot tub and access to the community pool was a selling point. The house was rustic style, but clean and welcoming.

Wonderful

The cabin was beautifully decorated and in a great location. The kids really enjoyed the clubhouse and the pool. Communication was also great. The only recommendation I have is that I wish more businesses were open in the evenings for ice cream, but highly recommend this cabin.

The property manager was wonderful to deal with.. answered all my questions in a timely manner.

Had a couple of concerns which I shared with the property manager.. but all and all was a great experience.

Excellent property and location!

We loved our stay at this property! Location and property were excellent. It was nice to have a "home" to go back to each night. Hot tub and grill were awesome to have. Kids loved going to the clubhouse to swim and play pool. Only "complaint" was the musty towels of which most we were able to wash up just fine. Loved that this house backed to trees, not anither property. Made for nice nights in the hot tub and on the deck. We'll be back!

Vacation Week

Spent a week here in July 2020 for a vacation and really enjoyed it. The last time I was in South Dakota was when I was a kid 45 years ago, and wanted to show my daughters all the fun stuff I remembered. The cabin was great and Budi was super helpful. There were one or two very minor maintenance items that need looked at due to normal wear and tear, but overall the cabin was GREAT! There were 4 of us and everyone had plenty of room and loved the hot tub and watching nature out our back door. We would definitely stay here again.

Our recent trip out west

Our whole crew enjoyed this cabin. It was clean and spacious and very nicely designed. My husband and I loved being able to go downstairs and have our own space away from parents and kids. It made it nice in the morning to be able to cook breakfast and not have to worry about waking anyone since bedrooms weren't on the same level. I walked the neighborhood early every morning and enjoyed seeing the deer out and about before the rest of the world woke up. It was easy to find and convenient to town to get supplies and food if needed.

The location was very convenient for our planned activities... skiing at Terry Peak, sight seeing, and close to Lead for running into town for groceries and necessities. The cabin is set back from the road a bit leaving plenty of room for parking. The view of the aspens out back was beautiful and peaceful! This is the 3rd time we've rented from from Black Hills Adventure Lodging and have always been very pleased!

Truly a Getaway!

Surrounded by trees and a field of flowers, we enjoyed watching the deer (including a fawn) as well as wild turkeys and plenty of birds. The sunrises were exquisite! The hot tub was a welcome luxury after a long day of sightseeing. The location is perfect too, central to many activities including Devil's Tower, Crazy Horse Memorial, the Badlands, etc. Would 100% stay here again! It was hard to leave!

Aspen View provides plenty of space and 4 bedrooms, but could use a good cleaning. Of all the homes we have rented in Guilded Mountain, this was my least favorite. Reached out to management with no reply about my concerns, no reply. Beautiful house, just not well maintained.

A great place to make memories!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin worked perfectly for our group, and the Clubhouse was a big hit with the kids! They even went swimming in the heated pool when it was barely above 0! We have kids from the ages of 7-14 and they enjoyed everything! My only “complaint” if you will, the basement always seemed cold. Especially if the fireplace is ran upstairs. I think a little electric fireplace entertainment center would be a great addition :) Thank you for the best weekend for two lifelong friends to get together and make memories with their families!!

We were very disappointed with the house for what we paid. The porch light out front looked like a strobe light and flickered so we could not use it. When we travel we usually don’t bring a blow dryer because most places supply them, this place didn’t. When we asked Budi the manager about it, we where told we could bring one after we where already there. The furniture had rips in it. The chairs you could tell were old because you sunk down in them when you sat on them. There were only a few wash clothes available and no small dish clothes to wash dishes. Very limited storage bowls. The place needs a good deep cleaning. There are cobwebs hanging on all the mounts and light fixtures. None of the remotes worked for the TVs in the bedrooms. The one didn’t even have batteries. Again contacted management and was told they where going to bring batteries, we got those the day before we where leaving. We went to use the stove and the panel of the door fell off. They did send someone the next day to fix it. The grill had a bunch of grease and black stuff under it. You can tell it hardened been cleaned or swept. The only good thing I can say is there was plenty of hot water and the location was great.

Hot tub did not operate efficiently, which was a huge disappointment, as it was one of the highlights :-( Some linens were stained, and corners and edges of floors were dusty as were some furnishings. Cleaning crew should do a more thorough job for such a beautiful cabin. I live on a dirt road, so I know this requires some work. But, it can be done. Layout is great for a large group and very accomadating.Would love to stay again if these items are addressed.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a let down for our two families on our South Dakota vacation. This house is smaller than it appears in photos and is super dark. Bring your own towels, and some cleaning supplies if you like a place to stay that is clean. The whole Gilded Mountain loop is unkempt. Weeds everywhere and the trash was out for two days, on the whole loop before being picked up. Bathrooms were clean, again, towels appear to be 5-7 years old with constant use. Some were threadbare. Hot tub needs drained, it’s super scaly, oily and gross. Kids still sat in it, to our displeasure.If someone could dust and vacuum indoors and use some weed control outdoors along with some cleaner (and remove old cigarette butts and cigars from porch) and a leaf blower to clean it up out there too— it’s be nice.Beds aren’t comfortable, but whatever— we were so exhausted we slept anyway!Nice oven, kitchen essentials, leftover spices and baking ingredients. Well stocked place. Clubhouse lacked. Pool looked like a fiberglass insert above ground. Lots of kids in it— needed chlorine to cut the urine. Haha. I’m sure this feature is better in the wintertime. No bar open, toilet was MAJORLY clogged for a couple days which was interesting and made me feel bad for the janitor!It was a decent stay but we definitely won’t return. Mostly due to the location and the fact we are summertime travelers and not a skiing family. We would stay closer to Keystone.
