Indulge yourself in our picturesque home directly above the Aegean Sea. Enjoy the cool waters of our nearby sandy beach. Drink your chilled daiquiri and relax in our veranda with bird-eye, Santorini-like views.

- LOCATION

The house is located inside Schinias National Park, northeast of Athens, only a 3 minutes drive to a sandy beach with pine forest, 2 minutes to rocky beach, 3 minutes to taverns, 15 minutes from historic site of Marathon, 60 minutes from International Airport, 55 Kilometers from downtown Athens.

-WHAT TO DO DURING OUR STAY? PLACES TO SEE

That is totally up to you. You could enjoy the sea and spend the day in oriental laziness, or you could try some of the various water activities (including water surfing and jet ski), offered in the crystal clear waters of Schinias Beach.

There is always the possibility of visiting nearby Marathon historic site, the archaeological site of Ramnous and the Marathon Museum, having Stavros as your personal guide.

You can spend the entire day in Athens, visiting Acropolis, the Archaeological Museum, picturesque Plaka with its numerous taverns, Lycabetus Hill for an overwhelming view of the city and so many more.

For short tours around Athens, there is the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion, with its unique sunset, the Kutuki cave at mount Hymetus, the Temple of Artemis at Vravrona.

- WHERE DO WE DINE?

There are many fish and grilled meat taverns at 3 minutes drive from our house, where you can enjoy excellent food at the edge of the sea, feeling the soft sand under your bare feet. At Nea Makri you can dine in a vast variety of restaurants. You also have the possibility of ordering pizza delivered at home, or you can ask Rosa to cook for you her famous, irresistible moussaka!

-NIGHT LIFE

Cinemas, beach bars and clubs at a 3-20 minute drive, or a quiet stroll along the little harbor of Nea Makri. That is, provided there is no full moon, because, in that case, you will most certainly prefer to enjoy your drink in our candle lit veranda.

- WHAT TO PACK

Only your bathing suits, clothing, personal items, sunscreen lotion and your DSLR! We’ll provide linen and towels, road maps, isothermal bags to keep your fruit cold, snorkeling gear for your dives. If you are trekking oriented, please bring a pair of sturdy shoes and a lot of anticipation!

We had a wonderful time in Greece, partly due to our decision to rent Stavros Rosa's villa. Stavros and Rosa are obviously very proud of their villa and right so. The villa was beautiful, well maintained and situated with fantastic views. I really don't see how we could have done better. It housed our large part of 5 adults and 2 children with ease and comfort. Both Stavros and Rosa did everything possible to make our stay comfortable and were very helpful with suggestions of where to go and what to see. Thanks for a wonderful holiday.

Perfect

Our family stayed at the villa for Thanksgiving vacation for 10 days. The villa and views are amazing. Rosa and Stavros were the most gracious and helpful hosts we have ever had through our 20+ years of vrbo rentals. Hope we can go back there again.

Un havre de paix!

Belle villa chaleureuse, avec la mer à perte de vue, depuis la chambre et la pièce principale. Un havre de paix (absolument aucun bruit) et d'emerveillement! Les propriétaires ont été supers, très sympathiques, disponibles et toujours de bon conseils. Depuis ce point de chute, nous avons visité Athènes et l'Acropole, Delphes, les Météores, Epidaure et avons passé quelques jours sur l'île d'Andros (port à proximité de la villa). Nous avons passé 15 jours paradisiaques! Merci Rosa et Stavros!

Haus mit Charme

Das Haus entspricht in allen Teilen der Beschreibung und ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Im Wohnzimmer findet man eine Vielzahl von interessanten Büchern. Die Küche ist komplett ausgestattet mit allem was man braucht. Es ist mehr als reichlich Geschirr, Besteck, Küchenutensilien und auch Gewürze sind vorhanden. Die Räume sind groß und hell. Beim Aufwachen schaut man direkt auf das Meer und kann den Sonnenaufgang bestaunen. Schnelles Internet mit 20MBit und einen großen Fernseher mit Empfang aller nur denkbaren Programme. Die Gastgeberin ist ausgesprochen sympathisch und spricht perfekt Englisch. Zur Begrüßung bekamen wir reichlich frisches Obst und Getränke. Die Übergabe war sehr ausführlich und informativ. Ebenso bekamen wir viele Tipps hinsichtlich der Sehenswürdigkeiten und Restaurants in der Nähe. Im Vorwege erhielten wir eine sehr detaillierte Wegbeschreibung, die sehr hilfreich war. Das Haus liegt in einer sehr ruhigen Gegend und man hat einen wunderbaren Blick auf das Meer und Euboia/Evia. Die Lage ist perfekt, um die Sehenswürdigkeiten von Marathon sowie archäologische Stätten wie z. B. Ramnous und Amphiareion zu erkunden. Empfehlenswert ist auch der Besuch des Olympic Rowing and Canoeing Centre. Vielfältige Einkaufsmöglichkeiten findet man in Nea Makri. Mehrere Supermärkte, Schuh- und Bekleidungsgeschäfte. Wir möchten uns an dieser Stelle noch einmal herzlich bei Rosa für den großartigen Urlaub in ihrem Haus bedanken. Wir können die Villa uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Beautiful villa with magnificent view and great hosts

We extremely enjoyed our stay at Rosas and Stavros villa! The house is placed in the quiet area on the hillside with magnificent view at the sea and the opposite coast which make it a perfect location for family vacation. The house is fully equipped with very spacious kitchen and living area. It has also a large terrace with fantastic view and big table for meals. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Rosa and Stavros were always there to answer all our questions and give us helpful information regarding the region, places worth visiting, good restaurant etc. There is a beautiful sandy beach with turquoise water, convenience store and restaurants very close by. I recommend this place to anybody who is seeking calm, relaxing place that feels like home! Thank you Rosa and Stavros for being such wonderful hosts! Ela and the Family

Beautiful villa with spectacular views!

We enjoyed every moment of our stay at Aeolos Villa - it exceeded our expectations! The villa is very spacious and nicely furnished. The large terrace overlooking the sea offers truly amazing views and plenty of space to enjoy with family and friends. The property is very clean and well maintained. The owners are extremely welcoming and always available for your requests and for excellent suggestions regarding activities and restaurants in the area as well as attractions all over Greece! The hosts have a wealth of information for you regarding the history of this wondrous culture as well as many humorous stories :)) We cannot wait to return to Aeolos Villa and to visit our wonderful hosts again!

Wonderful and Cozy

This house is great - and the owners are even better, and make for excellent hosts. They took care of getting us to the house and around as needed. The home is well equipped with everything a guest would need for cooking, for laundry, and for relaxing during an extended stay. Wifi, cable tv, and music/ movies included. And the scenery is fantastic. A great deck to have meals and enjoy the views. Thanks Stavros and Rosa!

Large house with astonishing view over th blue sea

From the start of the booking process with many useful recommendations from Rosa to a warm welcome with excursion and restaurant tips a completely successful stay. The large sun terrace with a wide view over the sea invites to be lazy, to just sit there from breakfast until the final glas of wine. Beaches are not far away and there was even a birthday surprise for us .... The excursion hints from Rosa proved to be very helpful. Completely furnished with a large kitchen and lots of personal touches, the house gives the pleasant atmosphaere of an inhabited paradise instead of a sterile hotel or holiday home. Beautiful property with 5 star hospitality

Our (4 women friends) trip to Greece was highlighted by our stay at the beautiful home of Rosa and Stavros. Rosa had the refrigerator stocked for breakfast and snacks upon our arrival and was most gracious in providing transportation to the village for an evening meal. The tours that Stavros offer are the perfect way to explore the archeological sites and the traditional life and culture of Greece. He shares in-depth knowledge of his country with passion and an enthusiasm that is contagious. When I arrived home and told my husband about our trip he is anxious to plan a trip to Greece so hopefully I will get to go back. Thank you to Rosa and Stavros.

Ein wunderschönes, gepflegtes Haus!

Wir waren dort als sechsköpfige Familie, das Haus ist großartig. Es ist liebevoll eingerichtet und man merkt sofort, dass es auch von der Vermieterfamilie selbst genutzt wird. Alles ist durchdacht, alles vorhanden. Rosa ist einen tolle Vermieterin, die alles tut, damit es ihren Gästen gut gefällt. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Sehr saubere Wohnung, tolle Aussicht auf die Ägäis, schöner, sauberer Sandstrand in der Nähe.

Besonders angenehm war der Wind, der die Hitze erträglich machte.. Wer Ruhe und Erholung abseits des Athener Großstadtlärms sucht, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Kaum Tourismus, leckere Fischtaverne am Sandstrand. (Die dritte Taverne!) Der Sandstrand ist sehr lange sehr flach mit klarem Wasser. Ein Auto ist unbedingt erforderlich. Nach Athen fährt man mit dem Auto ca 1 Stunde. Die Vermieter sind sehr sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Etwas irritierend war für uns, dass die komplette Wohnung mit privaten Gegenständen ausgestattet ist - von Büchern über Schallplatten bis zu Fotoalben.. Vermutlich haben wir einige unserer Privatsachen "vergessen", weil sie zwischen den dortigen nicht auffielen?! Insgesamt ist diese Unterkunft sehr zu empfehlen für Ruhesuchende (auch mit kleinen Kindern) die nichts mit dem normalen Tourismus am Hut haben.. Absolut wiederkommenswert!!

The villa was wonderful experience!

The property sits high up on a hillside with beautiful views of the sea and surrounding area. It was fully stocked including breakfast foods for the first few days. It's located close to nice restaurants and wonderful beaches. Stavros and Rosa are wonderful hosts. Their knowledge of the Country's sites and deep history are impressive and it really helped to make our trip a wonderful experience. Beautiful uplifting location and feeling like home

We absolutely enjoyed our stay in your beautiful home Rosa, thank you for opening your home to us. Our three children completely enjoyed their rooms, the space, the fact that from the entire house you can see the sea. We enjoyed seating on the terrace, having breakfast in the warm sun and looking at the sparkling sea waters! We were very lucky and it was uexpectedly warm for the season which allowed us to swim in the sea, have meals in beautiful tavernas you have recommended us. We had the most beautiful Easter holiday and it felt like home, we are so grateful and we will come again! We send you our warmest regards

Greek hospitality at its best

My family spent a very pleasurable week in June 2016 at Aeolos after having to cancel our trip the previous summer due to a medical issue. Rosa and Stavros were kind enough to apply our payment for the cancelled trip towards our stay this summer. They very thoughtfully presented us with a wonderful cake (and wine) upon our arrival at the house. It was terrific and a very thoughtful gesture on their part. Please take advantage of some of the many tours that Stavros offers. It is absolutely the best way to travel and see what you otherwise might completely miss. Stavros' knowledge of history is fairly encyclopedic, ,so you are definitely in the hands of someone who is very capable of giving the backstory about almost any aspect of Greek history. His tours are thorough, and you will work up quite an appetite during the course of the day. Fortunately, Stavros knows where to stop for lunch, and his recommendations were all spot-on. We had some very enjoyable and relaxed lunches during our touring. On days when we were not touring, we spent very enjoyable afternoons at the beach just a short distance from the house. We found very few tourists at the beach, which is frequented mostly by Greeks. Despite this, we found it very easy to communicate with most everyone at local restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Many Greeks speak English with fluency. All in all, we had a tremendous trip that was made all the better by our superlative hosts, Rosa and Stavros.

A haven of peace and tranquilty close to Athens

We spent our wedding anniversary week at Aeolos to relax after the bustle of an Athens weekend and I can only say it was the perfect place to do nothing. Views from the terraces overlooking the Aegean were actually better than shown on the website. Breakfast in the morning sun, listening to Rosa and Stavros's music selection was special each day. Truly home from home. Rosa greeted us with a celebration cake and bottle of wine along with all the basics you will need for a week. The location is around 10-15 minutes away from Marathon town and beaches with a lovely selection of restaurants and small shops overlooking the sea. Quiet when we were there but I understand lively with locals in the summer. Rosa and Stavros are the perfect hosts, warm friendly and welcoming as the Greeks are. The Villa is spotlessly clean and very comfortable for 6 people. You will need a car, you also need to book the Athens tour with Stavros if you are going there, he a mind of information and the best host. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful relaxing place to stay

Stavros and Rosa were wonderful hosts and provided a great introduction to the Greek culture and area. Advice was spot on with regards to restaurants (especially Paradise and Greek eatery off of Monistiraki square) and advice about travel. We wish we would have had the means to take Stavros up on his touring offers, I am sure we would have thoroughly enjoyed our time wih them and profited greatly from their knowledge and hospitality. The home really has a wonderful view of the Aegean Sea and it felt like home (as they stated they wanted it to), very clean and well maintained, has a great amount of space, and provided what we needed to make meals on our own. They were always very quick to respond to any questions and were very accommodating. Recommend this rental.

Beautiful view of the Aegean Sea!

My good friend, sister & I spent 8 nights recently at this very nice villa overlooking the Aegean Sea. The home was fully equipped and our hosts, Rosa & Stavros, were so kind and hospitable making sure we had everything we needed. We toured daily with Stavros Tours and were extremely happy and impressed with his knowledge of this beautiful country. Nice place with a nice view for a nice holyday

The house is placed on top of the hill with a spectacular view exactly as shown in the pictures that are posted above. This is the perfect place to stay if one loves nature, sea and Greece. No traffic, no crowd, no noise, wide space rooms, a terrace with a spectacular view and a very nice, very long, white-sand beach bordered by a fantastic pine forest, which is no more than 5 minute drive from the house. There are many places one can discover browsing around, for all types of taste, far from the crowd and very enchanting. Rosa and Stavros are the best hosts one can expect and the house is really clean and comfortable in all aspects. I hope to be able to repeat one day. Alberto

Spectacular view, peaceful and beautiful villa

We had an excellent time! Stavros met us at the airport and we followed him back in our rented car which they helped us to book. Rosa met us at the villa, made us very welcome and gave us all the information we needed and answered any of our questions. Their villa is modern, very clean, and has everything you need. You definitely need to hire a car as obviously for a place to have such a spectacular view it can only mean "downwards" to the beach. but it takes less than 5 minutes to get to a lovely clean beach where you can park amongst the trees which border the sea. We also did some excursions( Athens, Peloponnese & Evia) with Stavros which were great value for money. They were full days (12+ hours) and he took us to all the well known attractions and many less touristy ones which we would never have seen without his knowledge of the area. We would definitely recommend this property( & the trips). Thank you Stavros & Rosa for making our holiday so special.

Beautiful house, amazing views!

My family just had the privilege of staying here for two weeks while visiting Greece. Incredible views! Truly a "home" away from home!

From my first warm email exchange with Rosa to our last goodbye hugs, Rosa and Stavros were paramount to making our visit to their country extraordinary. Their command of both the English and Greek languages made our adventures seamless and communication a breeze. Stavros guided us to many of his favorite spots, several we would never have known about were it not for him. He even provided us with an expansive and very informative historical presentation prior to our visit to the Acropolis, which served to greatly enhance our overall experience there. Their lovely villa is well appointed, nicely furnished and very welcoming. When we weren't out exploring elsewhere we enjoyed relaxing at "home". A special delight was the afternoon that we took a neighborhood stroll to photograph local flora, fauna and architecture. We were accompanied on our walk by "Pretty Kitty" and "Cinnamon", the resident pets. Together they acted as mayoral ambassadors, with Cinnamon letting the neighborhood dogs know that we were "safe" strangers and that all was well. They stayed with us the entire afternoon of wandering. All of this made for a most wonderful "home away" experience for these pet lovers with pets left behind at home. Our total experience left us feeling that we have made lifelong new friends who we look forward to seeing again, whether it be in their country, or ours!!

Warm Villa - Home NOT Hotel!!!

The pictures of the villa are very accurate. The views from all windows were breathtaking: morning/noon/night. We were greeted at the airport by Stavros who had arranged for rental car. A quick drive to the villa began our adventure. Both Stavros & Rosa made sure we settled in and even had stocked the kitchen with food. They were both at the ready to assist with whatever we desired. Stavros is well known to local restaurants & merchants who consistently went above & beyond to make our stay memorable. He arranged for a cruise to 3 islands, led us personally throughout Athens, and successfully conveyed his love for his culture & country. I have already recommended this property to my boss and would happily return again. We feel that we made friends for life!!

A++++ experience! Absolutely fabulous!

Stunning, absolutely stunning! This villa is tucked away in a beautiful, seaside community about 30 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Athens. The views of the Aegean are breathtaking from every room in the house and the house is positioned to take advantage of these views – complete with a covered terrace to sit in the morning and have your tea or coffee. The house itself is absolutely lovely – roomy and comfortable, not to mention warm and inviting. It is also clean and quiet with super comfy beds! You’ll never want to go home! Everything we needed - and more - was generously provided. As if that isn’t enough, the real treasure of this home is the hosts, Stavros and Rosa. You’ll feel like a member of the family from the instant you set foot in the door. They’re both wonderfully warm and welcoming and will elevate your stay immeasurably. We didn’t have a single problem during our stay but if we had, Stavros and Rosa left several ways for us to reach them. We also hired Stavros as our private tour guide for the days we were there and that was without question the best money we spent on our trip. Stavros’ knowledge of all things Greek is positively encyclopedic and he conveys his impressive learning in a way that leaves you utterly engrossed. Not only that, Stavros took us to several places that were off the beaten path and they were a tremendous addition to our visit. I now shudder to think of the things we’d have missed out on if we’d forged ahead on our own – including an outstanding walking tour in Plaka and a trip to Delphi. We did a tremendous amount of walking while in Greece and thus worked up hearty appetites. Stavros had us covered there too! Whenever we went out to eat, he recommended delicious Greek dishes to us and not once were we disappointed. Every city should be so fortunate as to have someone like Stavros acting as a guide and ambassador. There really are not enough superlatives to describe how excellent he is – if you don’t book him, you’re really missing out. He takes a good trip and transforms it into something exceptional. I wholeheartedly recommend the combination of booking the villa and Stavros as your guide for the ultimate Greece experience. Melanie and Sally

Fantastic Vacationn in Greece

The House is a great place to feel at home, the view is outstanding and the fantastic Terrace was our favorite place to read, eat and enjoying the view and the sun. Everything was perfect and Rosa and Stavros are great hosts. We will come back for sure to enjoy the beaches, the delicious food and the lovely people again very soon.

We are a young couple in our 50s and still blooming. Rosa works as a translator and is fluent both in English and Italian. Stavros, after a B.Sc, an M.B.A. and a M.Sc. In Marketing at the Universities of Lancaster and UMIST in England, and 15 years of very active service as an export sales manager for some of the biggest wine companies in Greece, now spends more time with his family, owning a taxi service and providing his services as a tour and a trekking guide. We have a daughter, Danae, a university student, who enjoys swimming in the gently sloping, shallow beach of Schinias, from mid April, up to (occasionally) beginning of December!
