- 5 minutes to Donner Lake, which offers wonderful outdoor adventures like boating/water skiing/tubing, paddleboarding, kayaking, etc.
- 2 miles from beautiful Historic Downtown Truckee, with its great shopping and dining experiences
- Less than 25 mins to Lake Tahoe
- 20 minutes to world class skiing at Palisades Tahoe, Alpine Meadows, Northstar and Sugar Bowl. Even closer to small local mountains like Boreal, Soda Springs, Tahoe Donner and Donner Ski Ranch
- Hiking trails start right behind the house and dozens of other hiking options are only 15-20 minutes away
- Spectacular golf courses, both public and private, are within a few minutes drive, including beautiful Coyote Moon, Gray's Crossing, Lahonten, Martis Camp, Northstar, and more

- Need a playground? Truckee River Regional Park (10 mins) has you covered. Or take the extra drive to the exceptional playground at Commons Beach in Tahoe City (25 mins), which is right on the banks of Lake Tahoe!
- West End Beach is super kid-friendly and just a short drive for summer fun on the water and Donner Lake is warmer than Lake Tahoe! The beach is public and just has a small per person fee. Free public piers line the north end of Donner Lake along Donner Pass Rd for quicker access to the water
- KidsZone museum is just 1 mi away
- The Truckee Donner Rec Center (8 mins) has great pools (lap pool as well as rec pool with slides and kid-friendly depths), a climbing wall, gym and fitness track
