Rich with history and beauty, this home is near the Catskill and Adirondack Mountain ranges and the Erie Canal and Mohawk Valley. It is also within walking distance to state land managed by DEC. It's just minutes to Cobleskill, Schoharie, Summit, Middleburgh, Cooperstown, Oneonta, Schenectady, Albany, and Saratoga too. High View Hideaway is three hours from NYC and easily accessible from the NYS Thruway and I88.

We had a very nice stay at this home. The hosts are very easy to talk to and respond quickly. The house is cozy, super clean, great space and is set in the most gorgeous setting overlooking the mountains. This is our second time staying here and we will definitely be back!!

Amazing place!

We came here for a weekend horse show, and this place was like a home away from home. After being at the show grounds 12 hours, it was like home sweet home.

Family getaway

We got to this property at night so we didn’t see the view till we woke up. All I have to say is Wow, what a wonderful way to wake up! The cabin was so charming and had everything you need and some. I highly recommend this wonderful property and if you do get a chance to stay here definitely take a stroll around the property. It’s pretty amazing!

A beautiful home in a beautiful setting

We traveled up from other parts of NY to visit family and a birthday party. The listing photos do not do this gorgeous home justice! It is beautifully appointed and decorated, extremely clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. It is private, serene, quiet and peaceful. The view from the front porch is stunning, and the property is beautiful. Lisa and Randy made sure we were ok at check in (which was very easy) and left us a welcome basket with s’mores ingredients and sticks. We spent the whole weekend admiring everything about the home and surroundings and were at the perfect distance from our family members homes. We would not hesitate to come back!

Secluded family friendly hideaway

We really enjoyed our stay, the house was comfortable, clean, and as pictured. The location was close to the venue for the wedding we were attending at Seven Ponds Farm. The view was beautiful and the kids had so much fun exploring the property and fishing at the pond. A very quiet peaceful place to stay for a restful weekend. Thank you!

Fabulous

The property is spectacular. We enjoyed outdoor activities and swimming in the lake with the bullfrog! There was nothing missing from the home. All we needed were our personal items. Wish we didn't live so far away.

Gorgeous setting, clean and nice touches

Our family had a wonderful stay at Randy and Lisa’s rental property. The house was very clean and there were so many nice touches. They left us a basket of supplies to make S’more’s and skewers too and they even had the wood in the fire pit ready to go. The property is gorgeous overlooking mountains, wildflowers and a pond. They had mowed trails around the property that were perfect for walking/running. Our family loved all the hooks in the house to hang stuff, there were hooks everywhere, it was great!! We enjoyed the most beautiful sunset the first night we were there. We will definitely be back and have already recommended it to other family members.

One of a kind experience

We had one of the best stays in a while! This property is so much nicer than in the listing photos. The hosts are nearby and you might come across them, but they are very respectful and responsive to anything you may need. The location is great, especially if you are looking for quiet, privacy, amazing views and lots of safe space for the kids to run around and have fun. The hosts have thought of small details (like s'mores, plenty of outdoor toys) to make our stay even more fun. The treehouse needs some repairs, but I'm sure they'll take care of that ahead of the summer months. Last, but not least, this was one of the cleanest properties we've ever stayed at, and we have stayed in quite a few. Very pleased overall and we're hoping to be back soon!

Peaceful Mountain View

Very peaceful,wish we had more time to spend on the property. We were in the area for our grandson playing baseball in Cooperstown. The best furnished house we ever stayed in. Lisa was very helpful,with questions we had. Enjoyed watching the ducks, wild turkeys and deer in the early morning. If we're going to be in the area this would definitely be the place to stay. Wonderful house with great view!

Oh so peaceful!

This house and property are stunning! Whether we were overlooking the pond and hillsides, or walking the trail around the orchard it did not disappoint! Surrounded by peace and beauty! The house is much nicer in person and was very clean and comfortable! Thank you Randy and Lisa for sharing this little piece of heaven, and for allowing pets (knowing they are part of the family)! Our grand puppy loved exploring with us all on daily walks! We are hoping to return to the area and would absolutely stay here again!

Perfect autumn long weekend getaway!

Beautiful property with amazing views. The timing of our stay lined up perfectly with peak foliage- gorgeous! The house was spotless and the grounds were beautifully kept. The photos don't do it justice. Linens, towels and furniture were very clean and fresh, and the master bed was extra comfy. Many dog friendly places can be a bit shabby, but this house is the opposite of that! All instructions were simple and clear, wifi worked very well, and the house was easy to get to with GPS. We had our 2 dogs with us and were able to take them on nice, quiet, calm walks on the small loop trail on the property every day. Plenty of open space to run around with your pup too! If you're looking to visit Cooperstown, it's about a 40+ min drive, but through some incredibly scenic areas! Lots of farms, valleys and rolling hills. It was a lovely, relaxing way to spend our 10-year anniversary. We will definitely be returning to the Highview Hideaway. Thanks for hosting us, Lisa & Randy!

We, (Randy and Lisa) grew up in Richmondville. We both have been fortunate to have our working careers right here at the local community bank and school. Our two daughters were raised here as well as numerous extended family members. Our family ties run deep in this community and we love living here. We think you will love visiting too!

This property has been in our family for generations. Our parents built this home over 50 years ago as vacation home. It has created many fond memories for many folks. We want to continue this tradition and share the beauty of the property and countryside with many. Come and recharge your batteries at High View Hideaway!

You will enjoy majestic views that are hard to beat. Sitting at the kitchen table, looking out the large picture window at the stocked pond, will be a sight you'll not soon forget. Enjoy the wildlife, birds and beauty of the natural surroundings. High View Hideaway is nestled in a hickory grove that is so peaceful. The remodeled environment of the home is warm, clean and inviting. You'll enjoy a good night's sleep on comfortable mattresses too.
