Luxury cottage in the heart of a preserved site

Old forge from the eighteenth century renovated and converted into a beautiful loft style cottage. A queen size bed and two single size beds are available for a couple of adults and two children / teenagers. A baby bed can also be added, if needed. A modern kitchen with oven, gas cooker and fridge is available.

The private infinity pool offers panoramic views of the surrounding nature. Deckchairs and parasol on the wood terrace provide all the comfort to enjoy this peaceful corner of paradise. The area is south oriented and protected from the wind.

A private stone terrace is also reserved to our customers. It is surrounded by flowers and trees and has table and chairs to eat outside.

The serenity of a haven preserved in the bush with all modern amenities and an organic and gourmet catering service based on products from the garden. The country estate of fifteen hectares offers treks through the forest of cork oaks and along the Saint Amans river as well as panoramic views of the peak of Canigou and coastline.

We live in the main farmhouse a few steps from the cottage and we will be happy to facilitate the stay of our guests: laundry service on demand, exotic or Mediterranean food made from organic produce from our garden (we can easily suit particular applications: vegan, gluten free meal ...).

Com excelente localização em Caixas, esta casa de campo fica na zona rural e às margens de um rio. Grutas de Byrrh e Castelo Museu de Belesta são visitas imperdíveis para quem deseja conhecer um pouco da cultura da região. O destino ainda oferece atividades interessantes em lugares como Domaine de La Perdrix e Mas Pujol. Aventure Active / Esportes ao Ar Livre dos Pirineus e Museu de Instrumentos Musicais também valem a visita. Sehr nette und bemühte Gastgeber, absolute traumhafte Lage im absoluten Nirgendwo (wenn man das mag), wunderbarer Außenpool mit Panoramablick und ein sehr schönes Zimmer - für ein Pärchen! Denn die deutsche Übersetzung des französischen Inserats ist sehr irreführend. Es handelt sich um einen einzigen großen Raum, der sehr schön restauriert ist, der aber keinerlei Privatsphäre bietet (auch nicht in der Waschecke).Küche abgesehen von einem sehr guten, modernen Gasherd höchst sparsam ausgestattet.

Belle maison

L’habitation est très jolie , beaucoup de charme . La piscine incroyable, conforme à la description dans un écrin de verdure et avec le plus d’être traitée au sel , c’est agréable. La propriétaire très sympathique est pourvoyeuse de très bons plans dans les environs. . Un accueil agréable et une belle réactivité à certains problèmes rencontrés . Cependant Quelques bémols : il n’y a pas 2 chambres , il s’agit d’un « loft » où les lits des enfants ne sont sépares que d’un rideau ce qui n’est as très clair dans l’annonce. L’équipement n’est pas très «moderne ». Cafetière est une cafetière « moka » sans poignée. Pas de bouilloire, pas de sèche cheveux. Le matériel de cuisine est un peu daté. Et il y a des chiens dans le voisinage qui aboient très souvent. .

Bonjour, Il est dommage qu'après avoir passé un si beau séjour vous éprouviez le besoin de baisser indûment notre note. Le gîte est tel qu'il se présente sur les photos: c'est un charmant loft et non un appartement deux pièces et nulle part il n'est spécifié qu'une cafetière "moderne" est à disposition. Heureusement les notes et les commentaires de nombreux clients satisfaits et reconnaissants sont là pour contrebalancer votre note très basse.

Vacances à Caixas

Un lieu au calme, en plein coeur de la nature ! A moins d'une heure de plages et criques magnifiques (collioure, banyuls sur mer...), et de sites touristiques naturels (visite de chateaux, grottes, lacs...). Le site offre un accès à une piscine magnifique et entretenue. Toutefois le gite est non adapté en période d'extrêmes chaleurs (pas de climatisation).

Merci Alexandre pour votre commentaire positif! Ce fut un plaisir de vous accueillir au Mas! Votre séjour s'est déroulé lors de la pire canicule que nous ayons connue : 42 degrés! Nous sommes désolés que vous ayez eu chaud dans cette bâtisse de pierre isolée aux panneaux de liège qui maintient d'ordinaire très bien la fraîcheur mais qui s'avère peu efficace face à de tels pics de chaleur. Outre le deuxième système de ventilation que nous avons installé nous réfléchissons à des travaux qui -sans dénaturer les lieux- pourront garantir plus de fraîcheur. L’ancienne forge du Mas de La Fariole se trouve en pleine nature. Entre mer et montagne, villages et oliveraies… une région incroyable. Françoise et Giacomo sont des hôtes adorables qui vous donneront toutes les infos dont vous aurez besoins lors de votre séjour. Nous recommandons !

Un site enchanteur, une très belle expérience

Le logement est très bien et conforme à l’annonce. Le lieu, même si un peu loin et impossible sans voiture, est merveilleux. Une piscine de rêve. Nos hôtes Françoise et Giacomo sont charmants et attentifs. Nous avons passé une très belle semaine et avons été conquis par ce lieu. Calme et beauté du paysage assurés 👍 Pour Françoise : un petit grille pain serait un plus 😉 Nous n’hésiterons pas à revenir

Très joli mais exigu

Sejour tres agreable. La maison et la piscine sont très jolies et loin de tout. A savoir que le terrain autour de la maison est exigu et les déplacements parfois sportifs. Un effort reste à faire sur l'accueil, trop succint.

Erholung und Ruhe

Die sehr schön renovierte Unterkunft ist zweckmäßig eingerichtet und ist für 2 Personen ideal. Wer Ruhe sucht und dem hektischen Alltag entfliehen möchte ist hier richtig aufgehoben. Freilaufende Hühner und die Katzenfamilie sorgen für etwas Unterhaltung. Der Pool, den man für sich hat, ist zweifellos das Highlight. Francoise und Giacomo sind sehr nett und kümmern sich liebevoll um Ihre Gäste. Gerne wieder

Wonderful location and very tranquil

Incredibly remote and rural location with the best located pool I've experienced! (light salt water too which was lovely) Very helpful and pleasant owners (Francoise & Giacomo) who also left us in private. We were looking for a few tranquil and relaxing days with access to coast/towns and mountains during the day - this surpassed our expectations! very ecological with solar power etc. Tip; take a swim or sit by the pool after dark, the sky at night is breathtaking - highly recommended.

Hi Esther, Thank you for your nice comment regarding us and the pool. It has been a pleasure welcoming you and you will be welcome again any time! Thanks also for the special touch you've had on the flower garden ! You gave to our fig tree a very nice haircut and the small cats will remember you forever! Neverthelss, regarding the little inconvenience you are mentionning about the fact that our own house has an eye on the pool....we want to specify that we are coming to the house very seldom (and therefore there is absolutely nobody on the spot most of the time). Also, when we do stay in the house and have guests, the shutters of the window facing the pool are always closed. so that the house becomes totaly blind towards the pool. That is why our guests always feel that the place is very intimate. Anyway thanks for the advice : we will soon add some more pictures of the pool so that the surroundings of the cottage would appear clearer!

Nice cottage with an amazing pool located in the mountains

We had a perfect stay in the lovely and old cottage of Giacomo and his family. The pool is definitely a highlight with the amazing view over the mountains. The cottage was clean and perfectly equipped with everything u need for cooking and living. We recommend a stay to everyone who is looking for nature, silence and relaxing days in the mountains.

sehr einfache Unterkunft in absolut ruhiger Lage in der Natur

Die sehr einfache Ferienunterkunft ist wunderschön restauriert, besteht aber praktisch nur aus einem großen Raum, die Waschecke ist nur durch einen schmiedeeisernen Paravent abgetrennt. Auch die gesamte Einrichtung ist schmiedeeisern. Leider gibt es innen und außen keine bequeme Sitzgelegenheit, sondern nur die wirklich sehr unbequemen schmiedeeisernen Stühle, die auf allen Fotos sichtbar sind. Elektrogeräte sind bis auf einen Fön nicht vorhanden, außerdem gibt es keine Handtücher. Kleinere Nachttisch- oder Leselampen wären wünschenswert.

Beautifully presented property in stunning location

The property is a converted barn that has been restored very tastefully and to a very high standard. We were slightly disappointed that the overall 'minimalist' style meant that some of the basics were missing (limited storage space, no full size dinner plates, no kettle, no tin opener) but Francoise and Giacomo immediately accommodated our additional requests. It would also have enhanced our stay if some of the basics for cooking were provided (some other properties that we've stayed in have been well provisioned with basics such as herbs, seasoning and cooking oil, and it's a welcome addition when travelling abroad). But this is just a suggestion of what could be added - lack of salt and pepper certainly didn't detract at all from our stay! The property is in a beautiful location, well-placed for walking and visiting the surrounding area, and the pool was an added luxury to enjoy. We felt slightly overlooked when using the pool, as it beneath the front of the owners' house, but the owners took care to ensure we had the pool to ourselves whenever we wanted to use it. For those wanting somewhere completely private and quiet, you may find the proximity to the owners' house, and the occasional little bit of noise from their two small children distracting, but only something to bear in mind if complete solitude is what you're after; the peaceful rural location and access to private sitting areas in front of the property offer plenty of opportunity for quiet contemplation, and enjoyment of flocks of bee-eaters using the valley below. We took advantage of Francoise's culinary skills on one evening and enjoyed a wonderfully delicious meal, mostly comprising fresh organic produce from their own garden - highly recommended. Overall, it's a very lovely property in a wonderful location, with welcoming owners who are keen to let you experience their organic and eco-friendly lifestyle.

Très beau gîte en pleine nature, restauré avec soin, piscine très appréciée, repas réservé sur place simple, bon, copieux et bio (délicieux glaces et gâteaux maison). Accueil très agréable et attentif des propriétaires. Séjour parfait.

Francoise is an anthropologist specialized in the Himalayan region and me, Giacomo (an Italian!) I am an energy engineer concerned by ecology. When our second child was born we decided to escape Paris in order to settle in the midst of nature between sea and mountains. We have literally fallen in love with our property and it is a great pleasure to embellish it and grow fruits and vegetables for our travelers.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The cottage is situated at only half an hour from the sea and at less than 20 km from Canigou's mountain top. Our oak forest offers beautiful walks and the Saint Amans rivers flows nearby. It is an ideal place to relax while enjoying birds concerts and to discover wild life while residing in a very comfortable place. Out travelers really appreciate the amazing infinity pool and the organic food we serve from the produce of our garden.
