R&R Lake Front Cottage in the Irish Hills

As a child, our family bought a cottage in the Irish Hills - I was blessed with summers spent swimming, fishing, campfires and filling my childhood with memories I still cherish. We bought this cottage to keep those memories alive in a time when it seems easy to forget how simple pure joy can be. We invite you to experience all the love & coziness of our cottage.
Evans Lake is a private all-sports lake with a sandy bottom-making it a perfect place to unwind from your routine. Welcome to The Lake Affect.

Our lake front cottage is located on the East side of Evans Lake in the Irish Hills.Perfect for those unforgettable sunsets.
We are close to restaurants, wineries, golf courses, MIS and a few great little towns.
Our place would work well for couples, a small family or group of friends, but is also cozy enough for an individual traveler.

60 Min from Metro Detroit
60 Min from Toledo

Lake front: We have a large sandy beach adjacent to the lake. There's sand toys and plenty of extra chairs to enjoy the long summer days. To top it off, we have a small fire ring that you may use. Who doesn't like a bonfire and s'mores?
We have 2 adult kayaks and a stand-up paddle board for guests to use (provided upon availability). We also provide 3 standard life jackets.
* A waiver must be signed by each adult to use the lake equipment.

Outside: All vehicles will be parked on the lot behind the home. There is enough space for multiple vehicles to fit. There are 20 natural stone steps that lead down to the house -please note- there is NO hand rail. We suggest unloading in the front of the home and then parking around back.
We also have a picnic table and gas grill for you to use during your stay.

Inside the cottage: 1 private bedroom with a bunk bed that includes a queen bed on the bottom and a full bed on the top.
There are drawers in the bottom of the bed and locker unit in the room to store personal belongings. A pack n' play is available if requested (this will fit inside the room).
The bedroom has a window A/C unit for a good night's sleep.

Loft:The loft sleeps 2 comfortably in the queen bed with ample amount of space to move around. Plus it has some of the best views of the starry lake at night.
The loft has an additional A/C unit and a fan to keep cool. There are open-style wooden steps up to the loft. It has lower ceilings and peaks at 5' in the middle.

Kitchen- We have all you need. Fridge, stove, toaster, toaster oven, coffee maker, crock pot and all your cooking essentials. We suggest cooking outdoors on the large grill--because what goes better with a day at the lake than a barbecue?

We have seating for 6 at the dining table -great for playing a game or enjoying a night in.

The living room has a pull-out sofa to sleep 2 more guests. Or just curl up and watch your favorite flick on TV. We have plenty of old school films to choose from!

We have a wall unit mini-split for heating and cooling to combat all of Michigan's weather. Still, our place is a true 'cottage' and therefore is only rented during the warmer weather seasons.

We do offer wifi, but encourage you to take this time to unplug. We want you to enjoy all aspects of our cottage and truly experience simple living, lake life and rest.

We plan to add security cameras to the exterior of the home at the entrances. These will be recording for security purposes. We respect the privacy of our guests.
