Welcome to historic Cedar Point, Hancock, Maine located on over three waterfront acres between Acadia National Park and its sister Park Schoodic. Tides flow East and West to the waters that surround the Park. The sun rises through the pines and sets over Taunton Bay ablaze with color. Cross the bluestone patio that surrounds the house and enter to view a towering granite fireplace. The house is all on one floor and is furnished comfortably and imaginatively with collectibles and antiques.

An oversized island provides relaxed seating around a chef’s kitchen. A table for six with water views on three sides is great for eating or gaming. The media center looks over the indoor fireplace (gas logs) and features a 65” television.

Enjoy the large hot tub with ocean views, and sun on the patio in Zero-Gravity chaises and rockers.

The house has a king suite with private bathroom. Two queen bedrooms share a bathroom. Both tile baths have glass showers with granite seats, rain showers and steam. Sleep comfortably on Casper, Purple and Magniflex matresses with premium pillows and linens. Each bedroom opens out to its own patio and water view. Enjoy sleeping with windows wide open for the ocean breeze.

The patio fire pit supplied with wood will warm you as you star gaze.

Hancock has offered hospitality since the early 1800’s when a railway brought guests to the Downeast Maine Coast and its famed hotels. Come explore our natural beauty in Acadia National Park and the Islands. Enjoy the cultural richness of music, the arts and outstanding seafood.

Hike Acadia, bike Schoodic, kayak, sail, lobster and whale watch. Enjoy concerts in Hancock at the Monteux School for Conductors and Orchestra Musicians, and on Mount Dessert Island at the Bar Harbor Bach Festival, Kneisel Hall Chamber Concerts, and performances at the Criterion Theatre. Eat out at the many fabulous local restaurants (several favorites just down the road).

Everything about the house was perfect! The beds and pillows were excellent. The location was easy to get around to all the different towns and Park. The property is stunning inside and out. We enjoyed watching the trees change and the views of the water. Could not ask for a better property to stay at.

We could not have stayed in a better place . The location was beautiful, the property was a real treat to explore. The views on the water were spectacular at sunrise and sunset . The house had everything you could possibly need/ want . Our host paid a great deal of time to details and made our stay amazing! Communication with our host was easy and pleasant. I would highly recommend staying here for a beautiful relaxing vacation!!

This was an incredible property and Joy is an unprecedented host. The listing is extremely accurate as to what is provided, but doesn't do the property justice. This is an extremely high end house with all the touches and finishes that make it feel like a luxury property. As well as being immaculately clean. Our family greatly enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit, which made for wonderful evenings.But truly Joy is the standout. I have rented many houses and never had a host provide the things that Joy does on her property - paper towels, spices, olive oil, firewood, laundry detergent, dishwasher soap, plastic bags and aluminum foil. Truly you need to bring nothing but food. Joy is also incredibly responsive to anything you might need or any questions you might have.I cannot recommend this property enough for a stay to enjoy the Acadia and Bar Harbor area.

3rd stay, just as charming

A week at Cedar Point is barely enough. My husband and I so appreciate the quiet, the spacious elegance, the beautiful grounds, the outdoor jacuzzi, and the immaculate condition of this beautiful retreat. The hosts clearly love their home-- they make us feel genuinely welcome, and go to great lengths to be available and to address any concerns we might have. Just reading in front of the gas fireplace or watching the light of sunrise reflected on Egypt Bay restores us. We cannot wait to plan next year's trip.

House at Cedar Point

David and Joy were fantastic hosts! We all had the most relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Maine did not disappoint at all. Between the beautiful home and the beautiful surroundings this was our best vacation to date. The fall foliage at Acadia and on the property at Cedar Point was breathtaking!!! We will definitely be back.

Relaxing Location

We enjoyed the area. Loved having a location close to Acadia and also Bangor but not being right in the middle of the tourist areas. Location was close enough to Ellsworth to get to the store. Something to note is property manager lives on site in the garage next to the home. However, she was respectful of our privacy.

Great Family Vacation in Acadia National Park

Great location, right in the middle between both islands, Mount Desert and Schoodic. Great way to get out of the touristy hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. House is very well maintained and very quiet. Equipped with everything you need. This is definitely a great place to stay when you are traveling with a large group. Hosts are wonderful and accommodating to all needs.

Gorgeous, spacious home and amazing hosts!!!

We stayed in this beautiful Hancock home for our week trip to Acadia NP. The accommodations could not have been nicer and the hosts Joy and David are very kind and have left no detail unattended. The home was spotless with a beautiful view of Tauton Bay. Do not miss an opportunity to stay at this high-end yet comfortable home. If I could rate this property higher than 10/10 I would.

Stay away! Absolutely not worth it. You can get scammed..

We were shocked to receive a $1K charge with no justification 12 days after we left the property. Still trying to recover the money… If you decide to rent the place, you will find two pages of rules and multiple reminders in the kitchen and bathrooms of what you can and cannot do, some of them were honestly annoying and some - puzzling. You’ll be walking on eggshells instead of relaxing. But we followed all the rules! None of the five star hotels and rental properties we stayed at in the past had anything similar. Beware that the host will charge you if you leave stains on the sheets, no matter how tiny they are ( never experienced anything like that before!) The place has no air conditioning and it got really hot when we stayed there. Considering the price they charge, AC should absolutely be there. At night you won’t be able to relax in a good company outside because the host won’t tolerate any noise after 10pm. Note that the place is quite far from its neighbours (only host’s house is close to it) The place is not that close to Acadia. We had to do quite a bit of driving. Not worth it.

One of our best vacations ever!

We recently stayed here and instantly felt at home. The hosts were incredibly helpful but respected our privacy, making our stay even more enjoyable. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. Each evening, we looked forward to relaxing by the fire and soaking in the hot tub, which became a nightly ritual. We spent a lot of time at the water's edge, admiring the breathtaking views and watching eagles soar overhead. The property's proximity to Ellsworth made it easy to stock up on provisions and groceries, while being only 30-40 minutes away from Acadia National Park meant we could enjoy the park's beauty without dealing with the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. The lovely drive to Acadia was part of the charm, and we were there almost every day. Returning to such a beautiful house and view at the end of each day was a highlight of our trip. The views from the house were so stunning that we chose to eat almost every meal there, making the most of the well-equipped kitchen. This home provided a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and natural beauty. We can't wait to return

This is the ONE!

If you are planning to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park this is the place to stay. A fantastic Maine setting on the water with a house that will meet all your needs while also making you feel like you are on vacation, this place is the answer. Joy is a fabulous host and gave us so many great recommendations. Highly recommend booking this house. You will be so glad you did.
