Stunning house and setting! Spectacular views!

Welcome to historic Cedar Point, Hancock, Maine located on over three waterfront acres between Acadia National Park and its sister Park Schoodic. Tides flow East and West to the waters that surround the Park. The sun rises through the pines and sets over Taunton Bay ablaze with color. Cross the bluestone patio that surrounds the house and enter to view a towering granite fireplace. The house is all on one floor and is furnished comfortably and imaginatively with collectibles and antiques.

An oversized island provides relaxed seating around a chef’s kitchen. A table for six with water views on three sides is great for eating or gaming. The media center looks over the indoor fireplace (gas logs) and features a 65” television.

Enjoy the large hot tub with ocean views, and sun on the patio in Zero-Gravity chaises and rockers.

The house has a king suite with private bathroom. Two queen bedrooms share a bathroom. Both tile baths have glass showers with granite seats, rain showers and steam. Sleep comfortably on Casper, Purple and Magniflex matresses with premium pillows and linens. Each bedroom opens out to its own patio and water view. Enjoy sleeping with windows wide open for the ocean breeze.

The patio fire pit supplied with wood will warm you as you star gaze.

Hancock has offered hospitality since the early 1800’s when a railway brought guests to the Downeast Maine Coast and its famed hotels. Come explore our natural beauty in Acadia National Park and the Islands. Enjoy the cultural richness of music, the arts and outstanding seafood.

Hike Acadia, bike Schoodic, kayak, sail, lobster and whale watch. Enjoy concerts in Hancock at the Monteux School for Conductors and Orchestra Musicians, and on Mount Dessert Island at the Bar Harbor Bach Festival, Kneisel Hall Chamber Concerts, and performances at the Criterion Theatre. Eat out at the many fabulous local restaurants (several favorites just down the road).

We had a wonderful stay. The house is beyond beautiful, the setting is peaceful, and Joy is a wonderful host. The house had everything we needed and we hope to return. We are so grateful we had the opportunity to spend time here.

The house is amazing! Very beautiful, very well maintained, fire pit and hot tub are nice amenities. The property is large, overlooks a nice lake, we enjoyed nice sunsets. My only suggestion is location. It was about a 40 minute drive to Acadia, which we did four straight days. If your goal is using as a home base for Acadia I'd suggest something closer. Lastly, Joy was very friendly and always there if needed.

Cedar Point is on Taunton Bay, ocean water that surrounds Acadia National Park. It is located between Tidal Falls (reversing falls) and the Carrying Place. Commute time to Bar Harbor and the Park varies with the time of day (average 20-30 minutes).

Everything about the house was perfect! The beds and pillows were excellent. The location was easy to get around to all the different towns and Park. The property is stunning inside and out. We enjoyed watching the trees change and the views of the water. Could not ask for a better property to stay at.

We could not have stayed in a better place . The location was beautiful, the property was a real treat to explore. The views on the water were spectacular at sunrise and sunset . The house had everything you could possibly need/ want . Our host paid a great deal of time to details and made our stay amazing! Communication with our host was easy and pleasant. I would highly recommend staying here for a beautiful relaxing vacation!!

Beautiful home 30 minutes from Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park. The owner Joy was there to greet us when we arrived and go over some of the house rules. The owner lives in another house on the property but was respectful of our privacy. The lake was beautiful. We made fire's early in the AM as we sipped cups of some local coffee beans we bought at the Bar Harbor Winery. The house was large and everyone had their own spaces to relax. We used the hot tub to relax a few times in the PM. We drove the Schoodic Penninsula which was honestly better & less touristy than Acadia. The views were also better in my personal opinion. If your planning to go to Acadia during the summer or fall prepare for lots of traffic. Most of the major spots you would want to see are packed with cars and parking is hard. Bar Harbor is also very touristy but fun at night to eat, shop, and hang out. The other towns like South West Harbor were just as charming and much less packed with people. If you love lobster and fresh fried seafood this area is the mecca. We did the sunset sail and fishing charter through Acadia Boat Tours which was 10/10. Also played mini golf at Pirates Cove under the lights which was really cool 10/10. A few other spots we hit we Stewmans Lobster Pound 7/10, Bar Harbor Lobster Pound 6/10, Bar Harbor Winery 9/10. The blueberry wine is too die for. All in all I would def stay here again. I would visit in the Fall when its a bit more mild outside and the foliage is peaking.

Great Family Vacation in Acadia National Park

Great location, right in the middle between both islands, Mount Desert and Schoodic. Great way to get out of the touristy hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. House is very well maintained and very quiet. Equipped with everything you need. This is definitely a great place to stay when you are traveling with a large group. Hosts are wonderful and accommodating to all needs.

House at Cedarpoint

Very nice and well appointed property. Joy was very responsive. Great location. Neighbors were a bit loud and and partied into the night which was the only negative.

An event at a nearby property on Labor Day Weekend did not comply with the State of Maine Noise Law. Had we known of the disturbance, we would have called the authorities. We regret any inconvenience to our guests.

Honeymoon in Heaven

My daughter and her new husband stayed at this amazing house for their honeymoon and said it was incredible!! The host (Joy) and her husband were fantastic!! The house and grounds were perfect along with the hot tub. They will definitely return for an anniversary!!
