Nestled atop a hill a short walk to the peaceful banks of the Frio River, in Leakey, Texas, - with private river access - this spacious cabin sleeps up to 6 adults and 2 children comfortably and includes all the amenities you'll need for a relaxing getaway.

Come and unwind in the quiet canyon under the Milky Way like you've never seen, and roast marshmallows on the fire pit. Grill some burgers and dine outside on the large deck. If you're looking for more action, head down to Garner State Park for the nightly dance under the stars during the summer, or Lost Maples for excellent hiking.

The river is perfect for kids, not too deep, but several swimming ‘holes’. Park your chairs in the river and relax with a cold drink while the the kids run wild and free! Quiet - no through tubers - a private stretch of river enjoyed only by surrounding landowners. Please not the river here is not suitable for tubing or kayaking, but there are plenty local spots for tubing and kayaking.

Great for birders in the spring, those seeking summer fun in the river, leaf watchers in the fall, and snow birds in the winter.

-The Sisters are a connecting trio of Texas county roads, Ranch-to-Market Roads (RM) 335, 336, and 337, that form a 100-mile loop around some of the prettiest country Texas has to offer.

Our 5-acre property features 3 individual cabins that sleep a total of 12 people. You may catch a glimpse of your neighbors, but each cabin enjoys plenty of space and privacy. The unit was exceptionally clean. The wife and I were amazed at how well kept it was even though they allow pets. We had a very relaxing time the four days we were there.

Check-in was super easy and directions to the cabin were very helpful. Christy, our host, was extremely responsive to our questions and requests. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to be back as soon as possible! The stargazing and wildlife were spectacular. The crazy rains prevented us from enjoying river time, but it’s very nice private access.

We had an amazing time even with the weather conditions and flooding. Ms.Christy was amazing with keeping us updated with weather conditions and the roads. 10 out of 10 recommend using her yall.

Dark Skies was GREAT!

This vacation home has everything you could possibly need. We loved our stay, the stars on that deck at night are AWESOME!! The private river access was nice for the kids to play. Just a short drive to Garner State Park to float the river. We would definitely stay again!

Quiet Getaway

Nice quiet getaway in Leakey. Nicely located to the Frío river and other activities. The view is great. Beds are comfortable. The kitchen is stocked. There is a swim hole near by. Our family had a nice time. We tubed down the frío, went to Joe Jimmy's dancing and went into town for some items and coffee at Josh's.

Host will Ghost

This host will GHOST.We arrived Dec 24 and were greeted w a bad odor. Texted Christy and she said she didn’t know what could cause that and said to open the doors and windows—we opened the windows, but they don’t have any screens on any windows so in about 30 minutes we had huge horseflies, knats and moths inside. Don’t open the windows.Took a shower that night in primary bedroom—water pressure was nonexistent. Had to move to other shower that was being used by my girlfriend. Her shower was extremely hard to adjust the hot/cold water and almost scalded both of us. The hot water handle is stripped and the handle just spins around. I’m surprised w all the good reviews, no one has complained about this and that no children have gotten hurt by the extremely hot water that will come out if you move the cold water handle just a millimeter. I texted Christy again and told her that if she couldn’t get the pressure fixed we might consider going to a friends and would like a full refund—she said that would be ok if we left and would give refund. We then discussed the hassle of packing everything up and decided to stay. I then asked Christy if she could refund 1 night out of the 4 nights we were staying there---never heard back after 2 texts.Also, this listing claims to be “on” the Frio. On the Frio means to me, that you can see or hear the water. Not the case, it’s a long walk down a hill and cross the road and then to the public entry they have. I wouldn’t want to lug a lot of

Wonderful stay

We enjoyed our time during our recent stay. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Impressed by how well stocked the rental was which was very convenient. It was nice to have the items available that I forgot to purchase on our way to the rental. Very much appreciated!

Beautiful views, clean cabin and wonderfully dog friendly with short drives to float.

This property was fabulous, clean, spacious and very accommodating. There were beautiful views. The owner had excellent communication skills. She responded almost immediately, if you had a question. We absolutely loved that we could bring our two dogs with us. There was a perfect little lagoon to take them to. We set up our shade tent and just let them lay in the water next to us, when they didn’t want to play frisbee or ball. We also thought it was fabulous there were dog toys present. Our younger dog found a toy to play with. We also thought it only appropriate to add another toy to the collection.

Cabin

The location is absolutely beautiful stunning and relaxing. The house was fully stocked for preparing meals. The drive is peaceful and beautiful to town. Only con is since it’s a pet friendly place there was tons of dog hair on surfaces, pillows, beds, towels, I swept several times and was still pulling dog hair off me and out of my mouth. The host was very responsive and communicated very well

Peaceful and secluded

Nice cabin in excellent shape. The deck has an amazing view and you have private access to the river. A grill and coals are provided. I would return.

Wonderful stay!

Great location, amazing views, and perfect river access for little ones. The house had everything we needed for us to enjoy our stay. The private river access was clean and clear, our kids had a blast and it was perfect for us adults to sit and relax. Looking forward to returning next year!

Off the beaten path

Property, as described and the view is amazing! I wish I'd packed hiking shoes to explore the property more! Love the proximity to GSP but not the crowds you'll find in Concan. The moon was nearly full but I can imagine the sky is dreamy on a dark sky night! House is clean and roomy. Kitchen is well equipped. I would suggest a smart tv for guests to be able to cast to. Other than that, no concerns. We'll be back!

The place was nicely located in Leakey area with a great view of the river valley. Only complaint was sink light in kitchen was burned out and made it a bit dark on the countertop.

Peaceful paradise

Cozy cabin with panoramic views. Very private and quiet location. Spent many hours on the porch relaxing in comfortable chairs with ottomons. We are a couple from Houston trying to detox from the big city. We watched the sunrise and sunset every day. If you are a birdwatcher, this place is for you. Humimngbirds came everyday and at 7:22 p.m. like clock work, these crazy birds came and flew in circles in front of us and went to bed in their mud nests. What a show! This cabin is extremely clean! Kudos to the maid service. You couldn't tell that dogs are allowed in the cabin at all.

Amazing Views

We absolutely loved our stay. Christy was very responsive and helpful! We drove down to the river multiple times and stayed there all day. It was a perfect spot for the kids to play. There were a couple of holes about waist deep, but the rest of the water was perfect depth for sitting in lawn chairs and relaxing. The patio at the house was my favorite place to be at night. The stars were amazing! Definitely recommend!

I've owned this cabin in Leakey, Texas since 2006. My family lived in the cabin for several years, but we now live in Boerne. We love the Leakey area so much, and hope you enjoy our little slice of the Frio Canyon.

This property is perfect for families with younger children. This is the 'quiet' part of the river. Unlike closer to ConCan, you won't see or hear high school and college kids partying. You'll only hear the quiet sounds of the river flowing, and maybe a coyote or two yipping at night.

Parts of Real County have been designated Dark Skies areas, and we strive to make sure you can enjoy the truly remarkable views of the Milky Way at the Frio River Cabin. This his house has an amazing front porch and brand new composite deck. The deck adds over 360 square feet of outdoor living space. There's also a new fire pit and plenty of room for everyone to find their own quiet space, inside or out.
