A traveller's dream. Inviting and spacious, modern and luxurious, this is the perfect spot to hang out after a busy day enjoying the city. Enjoy the fully-equipped kitchen or go ahead and try one of many nearby award-winning restaurants. With designer elements, heated bathroom floors, high ceilings, tons of natural light, built to be energy efficient, this place warms or cools in an instant and blocks out the sound of the nearby hustle.

Perfectly situated one block from Hawthorne Blvd and six blocks from Division St, you'll be right in the heart of what is cool about Portland. Stroll in any direction to browse boutiques, movie theaters that serve food and drinks, plush dining experiences, quiet cafes, and beautiful parks. Transportation is right outside the door, with Biketown bike share, Tri-met rapid bus lines, and readily available Lyft drivers. This is the place to experience Portland-style action.

Once inside, it's easy to find comfort. All of the details of home will surround you: a fully-equipped kitchen, comfy seating, the best bed ever. Quiet, peaceful, modern, clean, warm and inviting, you'll drop everything to sink into this space. A king size bed is upstairs in the master suite with full luxury bath. The main level sofa turns into the best sofa bed you've ever experienced. Memory foam, luxurious linens, and comfy pillows will make for a dreamy experience. While it's not exactly a second bedroom, the sofa bed is in the rear living space of the house, leaving the front great room still available for guests to wander around.

Such a sweet welcoming place; clean & well lit. We didn’t stay long enough to use any of the appliances but we loved the ease of the location to local spots. Host Natalie was the best! Her response time to answering emails was exceptional!! Would stay there again if we were in town.

Charming Place

I stayed here with my girlfriend for three nights, and we were both very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. The house had everything we needed. The location was perfect, being right in the Hawthorne neighborhood, with Fred Meyer, and loads of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Would highly recommend.

Perfect little home off Hawthorne

Clean, modern, cozy little home - perfect for a couple that wants to spend a few days enjoying SE Portland. Super easy to get around, quiet. Kitchen has some basics but I would plan on eating out mostly, especially as there are such great restaurants in every direction.

Wow - perfect in every way

Small but ideal - everything we needed and an unbeatable location. We like walks: and whether it’s a neighborhood stroll or to a destination (deluxe grocery store, excellent restaurants) this was a fantastic home base.

Our go-to place when visiting Portland

We’ve stayed here twice and it’s our favorite place for a weekend in Portland. Centrally located in the Eastside neighborhoods and walking distance to innumerable shops and restaurants, plus several grocery stores. Unit is spacious, with a very well stocked kitchen and 2 full baths. We were able to entertain friends for dinner. Even though it’s an ADU, the layout is private and you feel like you have your own house. Recommended for anyone seeking a Portland getaway.

Great location; European styling

Residential neighborhood, clean and comfortable. Kitchen is great for breakfast and small gatherings. All the basics included. New bathrooms. Comfortable bed. Could use a few more mugs and a lighter weight blanket as an option. Whole house fan vibration takes some getting used to. Would absolutely stay there again.

Great Location

The home is in a great location and is very charming. The space was utilized well in such a small home. We had a great stay and were within walking distance to all the activities we were interested in. Our only complaint is that the downstairs bathroom was not clean. It seems like this was probably an oversight since the rest of the home was clean. All and all, we would recommend this property.

Could not have asked for more from Natalie (the host), or a property, for that matter. So clean and welcoming; could not have asked for anything more. Simply the best! Would love to stay here again and would recommend any traveler to stay here! Side note: in my research I noticed mention of the light through the upstairs door/ window (which I was concerned about). That has been addressed with a retractable blind; like what is found throughout the house. So, book and relax – it’s all good!

Beautiful Design

We enjoyed our stay at this beautifully designed property. Everything was well appointed and very clean (except for a couple of pots in the kitchen...). The entire place stayed very cool as well. It was in the 80's during our trip, but we couldn't tell as the inside of the property was very comfortable and cool. A couple of things to note: - The area is very dark at night and the property is also dark at the entrance (no outside light at the door). - We only had issues parking one evening, the rest of the time we were able to park in front of the property. - There is a house fan in the upstairs bathroom next to the bedroom that runs constantly, so if you are a light sleeper, this may be an issue. - There is only one small TV downstairs, having one in the upstairs bedroom would have been nice. - Instructions for the Oven and Dishwasher would have been good to have as they are of European design and are not inherently easy to understand. - The washing machine and dryer were awesome and we really appreciated the free & clear laundry detergent!!! As far as communication, Natalie was awesome and very nice to work with. Instantly responded back to me on all things! Overall a great place to stay in Portland!

We are a family of four with two elementary aged boys, and we've lived in the house next door since 2008. Justin is a high school science teacher and started a hands-on science program, complete with a farm, commercial kitchen and wood shop. Natalie is a local Realtor with Living Room Realty, and loves providing clients with upmost service and expertise in the local real estate market. We've lived in this neighborhood together since 2000, except for one year spent abroad in Switzerland, where we had our first born child. We love to travel to as many places as we can squeeze in each year, focusing on nature and cultural experiences for our kids. When we're home, we enjoy hiking, skiing, playing with our sweet golden doodle, and cooking from scratch with as many locally sourced ingredients as possible.

We built this house in 2016 when the City of Portland started to provide incentives for building mother-in-law types of units in the heart of the city. We fell in love with this idea and the potential rental benefit it offered in the short term and the opportunity of retiring in it full-time in the long term. We hired our friend and local architect who spent countless hours dreaming up a layout that is both functional and beautiful in 800 square feet. Click this link for more info on our process:

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

We went all out with the design and quality of this home when we built it. Every light switch, fixture, design element were thought of and executed by me and based on what I love about a house. The challenge was to design a home that flows well and is modern and luxurious, while remaining functional and comfortable: we did not want an overly cold, stiff and boxy new build. One of the most energy efficient houses in the neighborhood, the insulation is tight and the materials behind the walls are well above code. The single-wall kitchen features European high end appliances with every little detail thought of. The upstairs bedroom is a sanctuary, with high ceilings, a huge closet, a tiny balcony for light, and stained glass I designed to add color into the space. The bathrooms are luxurious, with heated tile, never ending hot water and great pressure in the showers.
