Waterfront Lake Cottage - Upper Nemahbin Lake

Great cozy lake cottage, recently remodeled, located in lake country about 25 miles west of downtown Milwaukee on Upper Nemahbin Lake, a glacial lake, with great shopping and restaurants closeby, including bar/restaurant Panga right on the lake. There is access to 5 lakes via kayak, canoe, and paddleboard. Pontoon available for enjoyment for additional fees. Kayaks and play mat are available for free. Get your family outside to enjoy the great outdoors, detach from electronics and spend time together boating, swimming, paddleboarding, skiing, tubing, and, of course, fishing.

The 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage sleeps 8 guests comfortably. There is 1 bedroom on the main level with a queen bed and a large loft on the 2nd floor with 2 queen beds and two twin beds.
There are beautiful views of the lake on both levels which is just 20 feet from the cottage.

Lake Getaway

Beautiful property right on the lakefront that made for a great way to escape the city. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun weekend on the lake. Very friendly and communicative host who went above and beyond to ensure our group had a great trip!

This little cabin is super cute and the location right on the waterfront is beautiful. They did have large signs the water was unsafe to drink, however they then provided a water cooler for you.

Perfect Lake Weekend!

This was our second time staying here and it was even better than the first time! We fished, floated, went kayaking, had bon fires, cooked out, played board games, and slept great! The lake view is amazing and the property came with everything you would want from a 5 star hotel, worth every penny! Beautiful inside and out! And Derrick was a 5 star host yet again, he genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay and it showed! We will be back!

Very Nice Weekend!

We rented this lake house for a last minute family weekend. We had an amazing time. The weather was great. The water was warm. We cooked out on the grill and had a fire in the fire pit. You do hear the highway noise but it wasn't a big deal for us. We also rented the pontoon boat which was a lot of fun. I would stay here again.

Best stay in Wisconsin

This truly was the best day I have ever experienced while booking a vacation home. The property owners were very polite and more than helpful. If you ever get a chance to go I would highly recommend it. My wife child and myself along with our friends had one of the best weekends we ever did together. The owners truly took time to explain everything and make sure we were comfortable. The house is beautiful everything well-kept. Will definitely be back for another stay!

A few more things to know about this cabin.

Property manager very helpful and prompt. Great location for us. Nice lakeshore. Low ceilings so tall people beware. Note: no potable water but they provide drinking water. This property more like rustic cabin rental. Also need to be very careful walking down uneven steps down to front door so not for elderly.

Absolutely beautiful and comfortable property! It's rare to find a rental where every bed is comfortable, but we used the downstairs bedroom and one of the queen beds on the second floor and all of us raved about the mattresses. The outdoor amenities provided were great and so helpful. Our only downsides to keep in mind: 1. You are right off the highway, so you can definitely hear traffic but it's not horrendous. 2. If you plan on doing more stovetop/oven based cooking note that pots/pans/trays are limited. 3. On the same cooking note, the fridge is small so we bought ice and filled the large outdoor cooler with drinks and other misc items. Overall it was a great stay both inside and out, highly recommend!

A little slice of heaven

My stay here has become a yearly event I look forward too. The children and adults love swimming in the clear water. The owners are accommodating and friendly. I can’t wait for our next stay.

This lake house is really great, the pictures undersell how nice the house & lake are. The owners are very accommodating, and the area is fun with a couple bars down the road. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Core memory achieved

This was single-handedly the best vacation home experience our group has ever had and we have well over 100 trips between us. If you could write a book on how to be a good host it would have this experience as the text book example. We only live 15 minutes away so we’ll probably become best friends with them. My advice is rent the pontoon boat that comes with the property and screw the big business rental places because the experience is so much better when you can still sit on the water all night watching the epic sunset over light summer rain and not worry about returning the boat that day. But that was just our perfect experience. I’m sure you’ll have your own too! Your loss if you don’t stay here and your life will be less because of it. No one to blame but yourself. Five stars

Just so Close to the water!!

The property was so cute ! Perfect for what I was looking for. The owners were very attentive and answered all my questions right away. We spent a lot of time in the water just off the steps it was sandy and we used our beach chairs in the water. We could listen to music have drinks and watch the lake goings on. We also rented a little motor boat from Als Bait just down the road to explore the lower lakes on both sides one day. The lakes are all beautiful and great for swimming and fishing. The house had all the things we needed and the beds were comfortable. I loved waking up to the big windows and seeing the lake in the morning . Sitting out back in the chairs in the evening and watching the sun go down and the ducks swimming by. I grew up in the area so It was just the perfect location and the cutest little place. I would definetely go there again.

Great stay on the lake

The owner was incredibly accommodating and communicative. The property is exactly what I expected based on the listing and photos. Picture esq views, Right on the lake. The clear shallow water with no weeds was great for swimming. I enjoyed nights on the deck grilling food and enjoying the view. Great restaurants/grocery stores in close proximity. The nearby traffic noise in the background wasn't a big deal and made the location easy to get to. I look forward to staying here again and would recommend it to family and friends.

Perfect little lake house with an amazing location!

This was a really good find! The owner was very responsive at all times. The house was filled with amenities to make us feel at home. The lake was warm with shallow areas for the kid to play. It was really nice to have the use of all the Games and water toys as well.

The owners were extremely kind and responded quickly. Beautiful lake and home, plenty of space for outdoor activities, and very convenient dock. Comfortably slept 4 adults here. Great stay.

Very nice and accommodating owners, extremely noisy location

The two owners are extremely pleasant and responsive - 5 stars for that. They kindly let us check in a bit early and check out late, and were very helpful. Sadly, this is about the noisiest place I have ever stayed at anywhere in my many travels. It is RIGHT on top of two busy highways - the I94 and Delafield Rd. It is not quite so bad in the living room, but in the bedroom, the trucks and cars seem to rattle and whizz right next to one's head throughout the night, making sleep impossible. It felt as though I was sleeping right in the middle of the highway. Other things to consider are: a) the stair treads going up to the main bedroom are not wide enough to put one's foot straight, so one has to walk up sideways, which may be a problem for anyone who is not very agile. b) the listing states it sleeps six. There were five of us - my husband and me, an adult son and second adult son with girlfriend. This did not work well for us. There are two double beds (meant for 4 people) in the attic/ main bedroom, so no privacy (we had to sleep with our adult son), and the second room has a pull out couch to create a double bed, but the room is too small to pull them out, so my son and his partner ending up sleeping on two different levels. Note that you need to bring your own shampoo etc, and there are very few utensils, though the owners are nice about bringing some over if you ask them.

Lake house stay...

This house was exactly what my friend and I needed. Very relaxing, located on the lake and with wonderful hosts. We had an issue with a lack of gas for the grill and the owner was over in five minutes to take care of it. He checked in on us often and made sure that we had everything we needed. The highway noise can be slightly annoying but it is easy to overcome while relaxing on the dock, fishing, etc. I would certainly recommend renting this house.

Great Lake Location

This is a great little cottage right on the lake and perfect for enjoying summer weather. It is well located and great for some time away. Only negative is that since it is on a busy street right off the highway you can hear the hum of traffic a bit, but otherwise, it's great. The hosts were very helpful and it was overall a great experience.
