Green Door Lofts-Urban Cowboy - Silos/Downtown

Green Door Lofts, featured on Fixer Upper Urban Loft Challenge and referred to as `Funky Town` by Chip, is a 9-unit luxury loft complex in the heart of Waco`s bustling Silo District. We are next door to the historic Hippodrome Dinner Theater and steps away from eclectic shops, antique stores, wine tasting rooms, and live music. Magnolia Market is an easy walk away, or take the free trolley that stops outside. Each loft is crafted with a unique flair and offers a distinct experience.



The Urban Cowboy Loft is a fun, unique loft home where Texas western style and urban living merge into a fun, funky vibe. A pair of French doors overlook a quiet heated courtyard pool. Skylights bathe the living room in natural light, making it the perfect place to relax. The master bedroom boasts a king-sized bed with pressed, triple-sheeted linens. In the living room there is wall-mounted, queen-sized Murphy bed. The loft has an in-unit washer/dryer. Guests will also love the fully-equipped kitchen, complete with coffee, tea, and of course my mom`s cinnamon rolls. Entertainment includes a large screen SmartTV with Direct TV/Netflix. Cool LED lighting in the living room and bedroom to help set the mood for any occasion.



The building`s courtyard has a HEATED POOL with lounge chairs and tables. The mezzanine deck overlooks the avenue below - perfect for people watching!



A unique code for keyless entry makes check-in and check-out flexible and convenient. The owner lives on-site and can be reached by cell phone any time. We`re happy to provide suggestions for local eateries and activities, in addition to the loft`s information guide.



Green Door Lofts gets its name from the famous green door that welcomes residents into the courtyard. The green door is also referred to locally as the Hobbit Door. Immediately next door to the Hippodrome theater, the door serves as a backdrop for visitors on the street stopping and posing for selfies. Countless brides have ventured to the door for their bridal portraits. We love it!! This 9 unit complex is located on a trendy street that links the historic old homes of Waco with the parks along the Brazos River. Next door is the iconic Waco Hippodrome, where you can grab dinner and an adult beverage while watching a play, concert, or show. Wacoā€™s free trolley stops in front of the loft before continuing to the Silos and other downtown shops.



A few blocks away is Cameron Park, a 416-acre stretch of land with hike and bike trails and the Waco Zoo. We are also located within five minutes of Baylor`s McLane Stadium. On game days, Baylorā€™s free shuttle that runs between downtown and the stadium is only a couple blocks away.



Downtown Waco has plenty of free street parking and Ubers are readily available. The loft is walking distance to shops and restaurants.



The Urban Cowboy Loft is on the second floor and accessed only by stairs. If this is an issue, please consider our 3 bedroom listing on the first floor. The Urban Cowboy Loft is immediately adjacent to the Retro Loft.

My sister and I had a really great stay in the Urban Cowboy at the Green Door Lofts. Jim greeted us at check-in, and was easily available to reach if needed. It was nice to have a covered free parking spot as we were coming and going. Jim went out of his way to make sure we had all of the equipment we needed to cook a large meal that we had planned to make. The Green Door Lofts are very clean and cozy, and it was an added benefit to walk easily to so many of our favorite places in Waco. We hope to stay again next time we are in town!

Great location and safe

Located downtown just a couple of blocks from Magnolia Silos. Lots of restaurants nearby and garage parking. Felt very safe! Came back from Baylor game and ran across the street to eat at Portofinoā€™s! So convenient! Check in process was easy and owner lives on site. Condo was very clean and stocked with water, coffee, and a batch of homemade cinnamon rolls! Will stay here again!

Our stay at the Green Door Lofts was great! We had tickets to a concert at the Waco Hippodrome, and it was amazing to be able to just walk next door! The lofts have a fantastic location on Austin Ave, walkable to anything you could want in the downtown area. Our rental through VRBO was easy, and we received great communication with Jim, the on-site owner. He also came by after we checked in to introduce himself and give us a walking tour of the whole property. We didn't have any problems during our stay, but I have no doubt he would have handled it quickly! A binder of information was in our loft to point us to restaurants and shops nearby, including Jim's favorites! There's nothing better than having local recommendations when there are so many choices around you. Menus were in the binder as well to give you an idea of the types of food nearby. The property only has 9 or 10 units, so it was very quiet and private. We didn't swim, but a private pool for the property was used by other guests. We enjoyed the small patio that overlooks Austin Ave. We found the cost to be very reasonable for the service, space, convenience and privacy we received. Overall, a great place to stay, and I wish we could have stayed longer! We would definitely stay here again!

A quick getaway.

We decided to get away from Houston and take a short 3 hour drive up to Waco to have some time to ourselves. This is a great quiet place with excellent proximity to most everything within walking distance. The owner Jim is very responsive. Weā€™ll be back.

Perfect location for Girl's weekend

We stayed here for a girls trip to Waco. It was perfect. We could walk to the Silos. Shopping and restaurants were easy to walk to also. Jim, the owner, was wonderful. Very easy to communicate with. He even has bikes to loan you for a lovely ride by the river. Would HIGHLY recommend staying here!

Best place to stay in Waco

Such a highlight of our trip, wanted to see Waco and of course Magnolia, itā€™s blocks from all they fun stores and the lifts are truly beautiful, so unique and so clean! I would stay there again if we were ever to go back!

Girls Trip

There were 4 of us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Green Door Lofts. We spent our first evening sitting in the outdoor lounge area visiting and enjoying our snacks. We shopped all day Saturday and then dined in our room and played games. Lovely space with great vibes. Jim was prompt and informative. Highly recommend staying here.

The BEST Place to Stay in Waco

If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Waco, look no further than the Green Door Lofts. We stayed in the Urban Cowboy Loft and it was wonderful! The loft had everything we needed and more, including a really comfy bed. Jim was a wonderful host - friendly and information from booking to check-out. Being right downtown, within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the Magnolia Silos was a bonus as well. The pool was great, with ample seating areas. We felt like we were at a resort, while actually staying downtown. I highly recommend staying at the Greendoor Lofts when in Waco!
