This rustic home sits atop a hill directly across the road from beautiful Bear Lake with unobstructed views or the lake! The private deck, equipped with a propane grill, is the perfect place to end a long day of boating, swimming, fishing, and enjoying everything that this scenic town has to offer. You'll also find all the comforts of home here, including a full-size kitchen, a washer/dryer, and complimentary high-speed WiFi.

This hillside home sits three miles north of downtown Garden City, less than a mile down the road from the Bear Lake West Golf Course. You'll be a short drive from the Bear Lake State Park Marina (two miles south), a public beach access point (three miles south), and great restaurants, gift shops, and fresh raspberry shakes in downtown Garden City.

Gorgeous view of Bear Lake! We had a wonderful family vacation here. It was comfortable and had everything we needed. The only negative things are that you have to verify your identity with Vacasa, a rental agency, after you've booked with VRBO, or they will not grant you entrance to the property. The hideaway bed in the living room is basically unsleepable because it's flimsy. We just used a cot we had. It's an older home, but it met our needs. I would definitely stay here again.

Great views.

This lodging had a very impressive view. It was clean but could use some organization in the kitchen and some improvements to the approach driveway. Rocks and big holes make it difficult to back a large boat trailer up to the house.

Last resort.

Photos seemed good enough. But… Place was fine.. Smelled like urine. No laundry key was found. Not super clean, lots of spots on blinds, bathrooms were gross… Blinds don’t work. Furniture is long over due for replacement. Driveway sucks!! Need 4wd if raining. Tv is old af. 10/10 want a refund.

HORRIBLE! For the price we did not expect much but … this was ridiculous. The place was filthy! There was popcorn from the last people. The chairs had dirt under them from who knows how long. The chairs had never been moved. The toilet didn’t flush. The shower didn’t drain. The shower curtain was covered in people’s dirt and makeup. They tell you to take off your shoes but the rug had never been vacuumed. The mattresses had HUGE sink holes in them. The ceiling fan was missing a screw so the blade was barely hanging on. There was no AC but the directions tell you to turn it down when you leave. The road to the place was almost impassable with a boat trailer, huge pot holes, horrible clearance. We left early because of how gross it was. Some TLC would be appropriate.

We are truly sorry to hear about your experience. The level of cleanliness you described is not acceptable, and our local manager assured us they have addressed this directly with the cleaning team to ensure it does not happen again. They have also updated the in-home information to remove references to air conditioning, as this home does not have AC. While no plumbing issues have been reported before or since your stay, we would have been happy to address any concerns immediately if contacted during your visit. The property’s driveway is indeed rugged, and the listing notes a recommendation for 4WD vehicles; however, we understand this can still be difficult for some guests and apologize for the inconvenience. We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to improve the experience for future visitors.

Not happy

The rocking chair was broken, wicker chair was broken, one of the electric heaters was broken, and it was quite cold the weekend we were there. Not much heat coming out of the heat vents. No knobs on the kitchen cupboards and underneath of cupboards was very sticky. Dead spiders in the master bedroom drawers, did not feel that the home was cleaned very well. We tried to contact the company and was on hold for over an hour before we gave up. I would not stay there again. The picture is deceiving, it looks like the property is a short walk to the lake, when in fact you have to cross the highway, and then there is a fence around the lake and it is not accessible due to being private property. Not happy at all!!

We have implemented a Premium Clean program so we can continue to strive to provide our guests with fulfilling experiences; We apologize for any missteps, as it is never our intention to disappoint. Since the beginning of the pandemic, our calls and emails have been heavily impacted. We are working on hiring and training more agents so that we can get back to our guests in a more timely manner. Driveway woes

The view and location was awesome. Couldn’t have asked for more. The house does need some tlc but was comfortable and the family of marmots that live in the rock pile below the house were fun to adorable and fun to watch. I debated between 3/4 stars mainly because of the driveway for two reasons. When it rained the driveway became a slippery gooey mess and is somewhat narrow and rough. We hauled a boat and getting it into the parking area was tricky. The mud from the rain was horrendous and getting from the driveway to the house was ridiculous. No place to put your shoes outside while it’s raining so the the entry door area got mucky. No mop so I had to get on my hands and knees to clean it before we left. That part wasn’t pleasant. Smoothing out the driveway and rocking it would be ideal along with an overhang over the door to be able to leave your shoes outside. We did enjoy our stay and would rent the place again if the driveway issue was addressed.

Needs updating

There was not enough room for everyone to sit comfortably for sox adults, only one chair and a small couch that was a pullout that we had to make and was not clean, we had to vacuum off the hair. The rocking chair was broke and in a closet in the second bedroom. Dresser drawers in the master are broken. Should have an icemaker, not trays. Lights were out, no outside lights at all, they need to be priority. Very dark inside, not enough lighting need more lamps. Mattress was not comfortable, very old and matress had urine stains. The master bed also needs a new bedframe, held up by a wood box. My husband worked in hospitality and is very thorough at inspections. Downstairs smells like mold and the dryer vents into the room. Showerhead needs to be replaced, it sprays on the wall. The toilet runs in the master bathroom, had to shut the door at night so we couldn't hear it to go to sleep. Overall it was just not clean, we did cleaning for ourselves. The positive is the view is awesome! (could really use a larger deck to enjoy it though) and made up for most of it. We saw lots of deer while we were here, enjoyed that. I do hate to make this all negative, but the house really needs some TLC.

Great location, dirty and dated house.

This house has a great location with amazing views and a nice floorplan. Should have read the reviews because the house is not clean. It had dog hair everywhere and the bathrooms floors and around the toilet were just gross. Very dated in the bathrooms. and living room furniture. Thank goodness for Sue and Vacasa who brought us clean bedding. We have a small ShihTzu who doesn't shed so maybe to those with shedding dogs it won't bother them.

Overall a great visit.

The home was clean and there are plenty of towels, sheets, dishes and pillows. Everything worked and not having AC wasn’t an issue since it was cooler when we were there. My only complaint is the driveway is pretty rough- it’s dirt and it gets very muddy. But it’s not enough to not wanna go back. We loved it!

This place should not be on vrbo this was the worst place I have ever stayed in .

Property was in terrible shape we need 4x4 to get up the driveway when it rained yard is over groan.

Decent spot, could be improved

It was a nice place and well stocked. The driveway needs to be paved or have gravel put in, with the rain, the mud was a nightmare. I respect that you allow pets but the pet hair was a bit of a problem. Beach access is misleading, beach view was more appropriate, there wasn't beach access near this cabin that we could find that wasn't fenced and private property. Also, just a note, the thermostats in the living room and master bedroom function upside down from where they are, if we hadn't figured that out, we would have been freezing!

Great, but a little too hot

Very nice interior, everything was very clean and set up nicely for us. Great location as well. Wonderful view of the lake. Only complaint was that it was pretty hot and stuffy during the day, but plenty of fans were provided.

This property needs a lot of TLC

Bugs, bugs and more bugs. Scary from the outside…didn’t even dare turn off the truck. The inside was tolerable because it was clean, but this property needs TLC everywhere you look. Too many things to mention. Not boat friendly. Slow internet, no A/C, no ice maker, not stocked with anything…not even a bottle of salt. Shower was super slippery with no hand bar in case you fell. Looks like someone already went through the shower (big crack). Fell on the rocks on the walkway exiting one time. Fan in ceiling “clicked” all night long, something scratching in the wall all night long. But! The bed was pretty comfortable! Sorry, but I won’t stay here again until they make many, many major improvements.
