Located on beautiful Torch Lake with luxurious views and amazing sunsets. The cottage features a wood-burning fireplace, open porch s well as an additional screened-in porch, dining room, living room and den with a fold-out couch. The house has 3 bedrooms with 2 twin beds in each, 1 1/2 baths and a detached bunkhouse with 2 twin beds and a full bath included. No tents or campers. Maximum persons (8). An additional GUEST HOUSE next door is available for only $2,000 per week that sleeps 4 and includes a full bath, full kitchen and laundry.

FOR BOATS; a private overnight boat dock slip is provided on Clam River to store your boat during your stay. Day mooring at your cottage is acceptable.

Really special spot.

We absolutely loved our stay here. It's a really cool property with everything you need, lakefront, dock, boat slip, close to Clam river, incredible yard as well as a very nice owner who lives next door but you wouldn't know it, very unobtrusive.

We had an amazing week! Nice, clean spacious home. Beautiful property. Slept 8 of us comfortably. Owner was very helpful and wonderful to deal with. We cannot wait to return next year.

Great traditional lake house, super flexible space for families and groups, great yard, easy access to all things Torch. Owner was easy to work with, thoughtful and quick to respond to questions.

Charming cottage

We had a wonderful week at the cottage!! Al was very easy to get a hold of and very welcoming!! Our kids had a blast playing in the large yard and building forts along the shore! We also found the boat slip to be convenient and easy to get in and out of. It was a perfect location for our morning ski time on Clam Lake. The cottage is charming and was plenty of space to house two families with a total of 5 children. Thank you Al for your hospitality!!

House was perfect.

Great rental, couple kitchen items missing. I bought a knife and sharpener for the house. Still needs a vegetable peeler. Great property! Lots of kindling in the forest by the road for starting bonfires. Would love to rent again! Sorry we missed drinks on the porch with Albert!!! Maybe next time!!! Thank you Al

Magic on Torch

I'm not much for leaving long reviews, so this will be fairly short and sweet. The house is quaint, clean, and comfy. Plenty of room for lounging, meals, and games with the family. The yard is huge, again lots of room for games and kids. It's great to have private lake access right behind the house, and the pier, while not long, makes getting in and out of the water a snap. Location is very close to Alden, the Clam River, and not far at all from Bellaire. Really a great location with easy access to groceries, etc. Even Traverse City is only 45 minutes away. Could ask for much more. The owner was very easy to contact and helped me out with 2 questions during our stay. We had a fantastic week and we can't wait to go back again. We cannot recommend this property highly enough.

Great location and comfortable property

Not fancy but comfortable. Good views from the living areas and back porch. Plenty of dishes and kitchen equipment. Having a second full bath in the sleeping cabin was a definite plus.

Torch Lake getaway

Nice older home with very large yard Torch Lake with two docks. one on Torch and one on Clam, nice having the Clam dock since Torch can get rough. 4 sets of twin beds and 2.5 baths, beds are comfortable. Really enjoyed the yard and fire pit and many chairs on the porches and outside. We would come back again.

Fabulous location

Very clean & spacious rustic lake house with views looking out on Torch, although a bit of shrub & tree trimming would provide even better views of Torch from the family room & porch. Did not give all 5s due to 1) no way to lock the house from the outside - while nothing was missing we always felt a little on edge while we were out & about, 2) It was unseasonably cool during our visit & the oil burning furnace was broken - we had to rely on space heaters (2 of which were delivered the day after we arrived) to try to keep warm; & 3) While the tv worked the color contrast was very distorted & on some stations the audio was out of sync with the video. Knowing about 1 & 2 before I booked would have been appreciated. On the plus side, the owner was very gracious to agree at booking to waive the cancellation fee if our plans had to be cancelled due to Covid; he also returned a portion of the rental fee due to the heater situation - given I had not requested it I thought this was a class move.

Great stay on the lake

The property was great and we enjoyed our stay. The yard was large and good for yard games, the fire pit was a plus. Being on the lake was awesome and allowed us to enjoy our rental boat. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect getaway

What a wonderful home to stay in. It was the perfect family getaway And the location couldn’t have been better. With direct Access to torch lake, we could come and go as we pleased. We traveled with dogs and there was lots of land for them to explore. We were able to rent a pontoon boat for the day and it was only a short walk away. We also did some day trips and everything was a short drive. We highly recommend this place and the owner. He was very accommodating and quick to respond. Thank you thank you!

Enjoyable stay

The property was very clean with lots of private outdoor space. The cottage was rustic with a “up-north” feel. Beautiful views.

Family Vacation

Overall the house was great. It is very open and our family could spread out and not feel crammed together. My only negative is its all twin beds in every room and they are very old beds, and they were horribly uncomfortable. The grill never got truly hot enough to cook meats to our liking. Also, to have a washer/dryer was awesome to have, especially being there for week, but the dryer took all day to dry anything. If they made some slight improvements the house would be great and that being said I would still recommend it.

Perfect place for friends and family to relax together!!!

What an absolute JOY it was to stay in this wonderful little gem..from the moment we arrived, we knew it would be a GREAT WEEK!! The space was very large and open, perfect for all of us to gather! While the kitchen was slightly "close quarters", it was perfectly accommodating and well furnished! All of the bedrooms, the bunk house and the small adjacent cabin (rented by friends) were comfortable and very clean! The grounds are beautiful and the property is very close to a great marina where we rented a pontoon, kayaks, paddle boards etc...and paddled it all back to the house! Yes, THAT close!! All in all, it was a fantastic week and we, FOR SURE, would rent here time and time again!!!
