Welcome to the Blue Ridge Mountains ! This lovely 3 bedroom home located in Bat Cave N.C. This home offers the peace and serenity of mountain life. Enjoy a leisure BBQ with mountain views on the patio as adults and children a like. Play a game of pool or select from a variety of board games on the lower level.
Don't forget your binoculars for some serious night gazing, the sky is just full of stars. The main floor favorite is the family room, master bedroom and bathroom, with the gas log fireplace and over sized sofas. Enjoy movies on Disney Plus and HBO on any of the 4 tvs! Take a stroll out on your private balcony on the upper level for views of the Blue Ridge Line . For the chef of the future, we have granite counter tops , stainless steel appliances , filtered water and a kitchenette. The kids will love the camp style bedroom, with three twin beds, several books and a private balcony. The queen bedroom is across the camp room and master bathroom.
The recovery from hurricane Helene continues in our area.As the state of NC rebuilds our local roads, please allow extra time and drive with caution.
Chimney Rock State Park is now open and requires reservations in advance. Please contact Chimneyrockpark.com

The Rocky Broad River is a 15 min. walk down the mountain side ,from here .The main floor balcony just off the dining room, is a perfect way to end day , and to recap your adventures with the family !

The place was amazing and pet friendly. We brought a crock pot and some other small appliances but didn’t need them as it was all furnished, super handy!! Everyone had a fantastic time! The pool table and game room was so fun! Communication with the host was excellent. It was very quiet and relaxing. We will definitely stay here again!

Nice for weekend getaway

We enjoyed our stay here while celebrating our daughter's 13th birthday! The game room was a perfect area for both kids and adults!

Stay in Bat Cave

Great experience with Dorothy, communication was great. Located very close to Chimney Rock. Property was perfect for what we needed. The narrow gravel road to the house is a little scary as is the parking turnaround situation but other than that a really nice stay.

Thank you for sharing your house with us. The boys spent a lot of time in the game room. We picked wild raspberries along the ditch in several spots and enjoyed eating them.

Cozy house tucked away on a mountain

The house was great with entertainment for all ages for the rainy days. We spent the rest of our time hiking at Chimney Rock, Eagle Rock and other great locations nearby! The fireplace was nice to warm up to since the weather was chilly. We were also close enough to go spend a day in Asheville. We took the gray line trolley and learned a lot of the history of Asheville which was really interesting! Dorothy was quick to respond to all communication and was a great host! We had a great trip!

Great mid point location to Asheville and hickory nut

We had a great covid getaway. House was well stocked, plenty of kitchen items and towels etc.... the road had just been scraped or worked on, it is a little challenging to navigate right now even in our SUV, but an adventure is good for the soul hahaha. Dorothy was easy to get ahold of, was super friendly, and really thought of everything to make you feel at home! Plenty of hot water for 6 people, plenty of supplies etc. Loved it and will be back!!!

Horrible

Outside patios were filthy with weeds and algae growing everywhere, house needs power washing and paint. Inside better but barely. TV was basic sat so no networks or movies. Shower was barely a dribble, big hole in ceiling plaster over the stove. Main sofa sank so low when you sat on it you needed help getting up, towels were a mishmash that came from Goodwill, signs all over the place that were strange. Just nothing good to say.

Quiet & Hidden Away With a Nice View

We enjoyed our stay at this location! We all met there, coming in from different areas in our vehicles that can handle the winding gravel road leading to the property. The cozy kitchen was well-stocked - I think the only thing my friend missed was a can opener. We had meals in the kitchen and also the dining area which made it nice. I really enjoyed the master bedroom and walk in shower on the main floor; the mattress slept exceptionally well for me. Upstairs, my son took the open room with the 3 twin beds and my friend slept in the 2nd bedroom both utilizing the access to a full bathroom with a deep jacuzzi tub. I heard their accommodations were good, the 2nd bedroom has a rather firm mattress for those who enjoy the support. We had a fun evening with several rounds of billiards/pool located on the lower floor, however the housekeeper may have overlooked vaccuming that level before we arrived. The dining table was a great spot for games with it's large top, we could spread out all our cards and tiles for the games we had with us. We spent hours in Lake Lure visiting the lake, the historic inn and the walking bridge. The shops of Chimney Rock Village were full of intriguing items and we left some of our money in their cash registers! We all spent a good bit of money and had a great time on the road to Hendersonville where we took pictures of sunflowers and bought FRESH apples and asian pears to bring home, enough to share with some of my FL friends and enjoy for weeks!

Clean and furnished for fun

Great care has been brought to this 3 story house. A gigantic man cave, plenty of space for us 5. We truly enjoyed the place. Nothing to do in Bat Cave and some of the houses next door belong to scary movies.

Relaxing vacation and excellent home

Our stay was excellent! The home was as advertised and more. The owner is super nice and followed up on check in and our stay. They have all the amenities and surpassed our expectations. We have stayed in numerous VRBO’s around the country and internationally. This ranks as one of the best in terms of cleanliness, honesty of property and owner follow up.

A great week of active relaxation

We had a terrific time at this property. A huge thank you to Dorothy for renting to us and for all that is available to renters at this location. We had a terrific time using Bat Cave Drive as our base and heading out each day to Asheville, Chimney Rock State Park, down to the Broad River and over to Hendersonville and surrounding vineyards. It’s an amazing location and close to tons of fun outdoor activities. The house is clean, comfortable and has lots of character that all makes for a terrific stay. The surroundings are beautiful in terms of the views and location although the drive up can be challenging for some vehicles and one of the homes on the way up to the property is an eyesore. Nonetheless this property is a great place for families to spend time together with a lovely modern kitchen, modern bathrooms and comfortable bedrooms and a really fun games room. All around this was a quality place to retreat to and have fun at.

Very conveint to Lake Lure area and hiking trails.

Everything was nice and comfortable. About 8:00 on the first night we thought someone was tapping on the window but to only find that it was the refrigerator making the noise. It continued during the day and into the evening. Not during the night. Turned off the ice maker which wasn't the problem. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Best house ever. Its so close to downtown chimney rock. And the view is amazing.

The house is beautiful. It has everything you could imagine, and its so close to downtown. Love the fact that she had everything you would need in a Kitchen & more. My little girl loved all the books and toys huge selection. Best place ever. We will definitely be going back there. Thank you again Dorothy!!!!

Well-equipped and comfortable

We spent Thanksgiving in this home and did so comfortably. The house is welcoming for a long stay. If you're not accustomed to driving sometimes curvy, narrow roads, you'll want to map out your adventures so you're prepared...but it shouldn't deter you from this home.

memorable time on the porch

Plenty of space for our family and dogs however my favorite spot was the back porch, perfect for enjoying morning coffee and watching the evenings change to night. Kitchen was well-stocked with cooking equipment. Water pressure in the shower on the top floor is stronger than that on the main floor. Dorothy was very prompt and upbeat in her responses to any inquiry we had.

A change of scenery

The house was really cute and I loved sitting on the back porch having coffee. It is very quiet and peaceful. Great proximity to Chimney Rock. The drive up Bat Cave Rd was a bit steep, but we adjusted after a few trips up and down.

Cabin Getaway

This rental was the cleanest I have ever stayed at. It was like my own home! The owner was extremely kind, quick with communications, and very thoughtful with all the provisions provided for our use. My family loved the coziness and amenities to keep us entertained during the thunderstorms and rain. I would highly recommend and would gladly come back! Mountain Getaway

The property was in a great location. Minutes to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. The view from the decks were very nice. The house is definitely great for a family with children.

Great Family Getaway

Perfect place to celebrate summer birthdays! House was well stocked with things to do! Three levels of fun! Great location for day trips, Nice outdoor space with views of the mountains. Would definitely go back to this property again. The owner was most helpful with all questions.

Spacious getaway close to town with faraway feel

We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen (dishes, serving bowls, steak knives, peeler), the large deck and dining room, and the movie collection. Being within a short drive of downtown chimney rock village and 25 miles from Asheville provided flexibility. So many great hikes within 10 miles of this Bat Cave house. Beds were comfortable and it was nice to sleep w windows open and hear the Broad River in the distance. Dorothy was very responsive to questions. Cars with a front spoiler or low clearance may have trouble navigating the gravel road.

My family and I have been visiting Chimney Rock and the Blue Rige mountains for 10 years. We loved it so much we just had to look for a vacation property. The Blue Rige Mountains has so much to offer for the entire family. This property had everything we wanted in a vacation home. The many balconies and windows is a perfect back drop for photos and spectacular night scenes with thousands of stars !

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

My children just love the new addition of the large gameroom. We just put in a new pool table and poker table downstairs. All the rocking chairs off the balconies make it perfect way to end your day. The fire place is a great way to spend cool nights together. We have a large yard for playing ball and picnics. The upstairs is perfect for the kids ! Includes sitting are , balcony and 3 twin beds ! full bathr0om on the same level !
