**The property is located above the town of Dominical Costa Rica. Dominical is about a 3.5 hour drive from the international airport in San Jose.**

**We recommend staying your first night in San Jose when you arrive, and drive down the next morning. If your flight lands after 12pm, it will be difficult to reach the home before dark**

This villa is located in Lagunas de Baru where the mountains meet the sea, overlooking stunning views of Pacific Ocean, valleys, mountains, and jungle. Many first-time visitors to the area don't realize that beachfront property here is very hot and humid, but up here it can be ten degrees cooler with wonderful breezes coming in off the ocean, yet only a 15-minute drive to the surfer town of Playa Dominical and the deserted beaches of Guapil and Hatillo.

Beautifully furnished the villa provides you with a very comfortable base while exploring all the wonders of the Southern Pacific Zone. If the cooling ocean breezes don't keep you quite cool enough, please note the house is equipped with air conditioning in all bedrooms. Lighting is placed on dimmers, wireless Internet is provided, and you can also enjoy a large wall mounted tv with Netflix.

Bedrooms are furnished with king and queen beds, and will be prepared by our crew with deluxe bed linens. Bathrooms are modern and furnished with deluxe bath linens. Beach towels, pool toys, and a cooler are provided for your days at the beach.

Enjoy the outdoor living of Costa Rica while relaxing in the loungers around the pool, as the mountains provide a gentle breeze. The pool is only steps away from the living room. Margaritas made with freshly-picked limes are a great way to enjoy sunsets over the ocean while relaxing on the veranda. You'll soon find yourself scouring the reference books provided to identify butterflies, hummingbirds, toucans, and numerous exotic birds and wildlife that visit the Costa Ballena area. And before long you'll be using one of the favorite expressions of the Ticos (Costa Ricans)...PURA VIDA!

Other things to note:

The pleasant town of Dominical is relatively small but offers the beach-lover a wide variety of nearby beaches to choose from. Playa Dominicalito is just south of Dominical and is a great spot for beginner surfers and swimmers. At Punta Dominical, on the southern end of Playa Dominicalito, you'll see the lush green land merge with the rich blue Ocean. It is a great spot to watch the ocean's waves crash onto the rocky shore below and see a near perfect sunset almost year round. Other activities include treks to nearby waterfalls including the Nauyaca Waterfalls (7.5 mi from Dominical on Hwy 243), canopy tours, horseback riding, deep sea fishing, sea kayaking, scuba diving and snorkeling.

** Please be aware that check in is no later than 6pm. If your flight lands after 12:30pm then we advise against trying to get to us the same day you fly in. We are 3.5-4 hours from San Jose. You need to also allow for an hour at customs and immigration, and an hour at the car rental agency, making for a long day. It does get dark at 6pm, and if it is your first time to Costa Rica it’s best to drive in daylight hours only.
