Wonderful location ,off the beaten path but close enough to metro to get around easily. Antonella was a very gracious hostess . She brought us breakfast items every evening and was very pleasant to talk to. We didn't have the pleasure of meeting Flavio but they had a notebook filled with helpful information . It was filled with restaurants, how to get around on the metro and bus system, etc. They arranged for a car to pick us at the train station and to take us back for a small fee. Check in and checkout was simple with Antonella coming to say good bye. Would stay there again if ever return to Rome. The balcony was amazing having coffee in the morning and wine in the afternoon.Cooled off enough in the evening to sleep with the balcony door open.A great time was had by all. Thank you Antonella and Flavio for sharing your home with us.
Early check out/uncomfortable beds
The apartment is clean and the owners where nice at first. They bring you breakfast every evening for the next day, which is really nice. However, the beds are very very uncomfortable and feel like you are sleeping on the floor. Even though the booking states that check out time is 9am, we had forgotten about that and it was the end of a month long vacation. We asked if we could please check out a little bit later like 11am as our flight did not leave to come back home until 4pm. They said no we had to be out by 9.30 at the latest. WE had just about finished packing up when they opened the door to the apartment and came in a stared at us and hovered over us until we left. When we left we decided to go to a mall to kill some time, since we had to be out so early. WE parked at he Parco Leonardo mall and went in to have an early lunch. When we came out our rental car had been broken into and all of our money, electronics, and passports had been stolen. Do not rent this place unless you plan on leaving really early. If you leave early do not leave anything unattended. Rome is a very dirty and dangerous place to stay.
U have been traveling for many years with VRBO and have never been this upset. Unbeknownst to us there was an issue with time of arrival of the plane. It landed at 10:00 pm and ran a little late. I began getting texts and calls as to our time of arrival and that if we did not arrive at the property before the 1130 pm mark he would charge another 50 yeros. To make matters more difficult his English was very poor and difficult to understand. After Gathering luggage and obtaining rental car we found the property which was difficult, area was dark, sketchy, garbage all over. My daughters were very uncomfortable. When we finally found the gate to wht we assumed was the property there was no marking. Called several times and texted several times but after forty minutes left. After two attempts to find a hotel landed in a Sheraton at 230 am in the morning. He offered the next day after 2 pm to check us in to the property but declined as we had found a safe place to stay. I requested 50% refund but he never responded. I would not recommend this landlord!!!! Vrbo should reevaluate their association with this gentleman. From the pictures the property appeared wonderful. Not so much..
Fabulous time, Derek and Ruth, Liverpool
We visited Rome for a birthday celebration Derek had never been before but Ruth had.
The apartment Penthouse Auriol was excellent with a wrap around Terrace for eating out with good views of city including dome of St Peter’s. All rooms well equipped and the service offered by Flavio and Antonella (lovely, helpful, friendly people) was amazing from arranging collection from , and delivery to, airport for less cost than the average taxi cost and they provided bread, milk and fruit juice etc every day for breakfast. The location was quiet provided you with a couple of mile walk to St Peter’s but very easy walking, although be aware of speed of Italian traffic. as well as having good local shops and supermarkets (visit the hardware/everything you could want store a very short walk from the apartment for an experience). The apartment was accessible for those with disability although lift to apartment was only just suitable for 2 people and wheelchair (foldable).
All in all an excellent apartment in every way and good value.
