Prestigious villa in Taormina with garden and private swimming pool. Villa Calipso was built (in its central body) in the early 1800s; it has undergone successive expansions and restored about 20 years ago. The house is located on two floors: on the ground floor there is a large living room with corner sofa, television area, wood-burning fireplace, further sofa overlooking Etna. There is also the dining room with a large table in fine wood with 8 seats; this communicates with a study with library and piano. Finally there is a large kitchen equipped with every comfort and furnishings, equipped with all the main (large and small) appliances; the cooking area is characterized by 5 burners (one with high performance) and a comfortable and large gas oven. The living area leads to an area characterized by an internal laundry room, pantry, closet and a large bathroom with corner bath. The living area overlooks a large patio with outdoor sofa area and a wonderful view of the Alcantara valley and Etna. The kitchen leads to a large outdoor area where there is a 10-seater table, outdoor sofas and a charcoal BBQ area. The first floor is accessed via a large internal staircase; there are 3 bedrooms (2 doubles and one with twin beds), two bathrooms with WC, bidet and shower, and a study area (with sofa) where there is also an independent entrance. The bedrooms are all equipped with ceiling ventilation and air conditioning. The house has central heating (city methane) and wi-fi system. The TV has satellite and digital terrestrial connection; it also has a DVD and CD system. The house is furnished with quality supplies and is regularly inhabited by the owners during the school holidays. The garden is about 2500 square meters with many ornamental plants and some citrus trees (of the quality of the famous red tarot) and prickly pears; there are 4 old olive trees. The garden is mostly located on the slope overlooking the Alcantaa valley and Etna; it is divided into several levels and is particularly well-kept. In the kitchen area there is a children's area with a tree house and a swing. The swimming pool area is large with fine outdoor furniture; there is a dressing area with bathroom and outdoor shower with hot water. The swimming pool is large (6 x12 m) with an area of maximum depth of 2.80 and one of less than 1 meter; the swimming pool has a filtering system without the use of chemicals. The swimming pool has a characteristic stepped edge. The pool area is accessed from multiple angles; the most striking is characterized by a very large scenic staircase. In the upper part of the garden there is a wrought iron gazebo that looks directly onto the Etna side; another gazebo is present on the poolside. In the garden there is an "annex" characterized by a double bed and a bathroom. Access to the Villa is very convenient with an internal brick-paved road and parking for two cars. This part of the garden has a large lawn and on the back wall of the house there is an ancient ceramic representing S. Giorgio protector of Castelmola.

Peculiar features. The superb location of Villa Calipso makes it particularly suitable for families with children; it is also the ideal location to reach the most important tourist destinations not only in the eastern part of Sicily but throughout the island. The particularly mild climate also makes it half enjoyable in all seasons: the best period is from May to July; in June it is particularly pleasant to attend, among other initiatives, the Taormina Film Festival. Even the spring and autumn period is suitable for enjoying the beach and the sea in general. The proximity to Etna (only 45 km), makes the villa enjoyable even in the colder months when skiing near the main crater of the Volcano is a truly unique experience (ski lifts in Linguaglossa Etna north).
